My dad was a resident of Live Oak Village. They were very good and caring people. They stay on top of everything. They let you know everything. They were good at doing their job. Their rooms are pretty good in size, and everything in the building looks like it's pretty well-kept. They used to do a lot of activities. I think they do stuff like for the 4th of July, and veterans. They honor veterans and stuff like that. They're pretty expensive like everything is based on what type of care level you need.

I've checked out Live Oak Village Independent & Assisted Living. The layout seemed to be well organized. The apartment looked like it was very, very clean and very well kept. The staff were very, very helpful. Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves.

I'm not a fan of Live Oak Village Independent & Assisted Living. They were pleasant enough, but it wasn't very warm and inviting. I did not like the room at all. The rooms were really, really small. It's too far from where we live. The staff was nice, and the facility seemed clean enough. It just wasn't very up-to-date. It looked like they had gardening on the outside.

Live Oak Village Independent & Assisted Living was very nice. If I had a need today, I'd be there tomorrow, but it's out of my price range at this time. I visited both independent living and assisted living. It was very pleasant and it was not overly sterile. Assisted living wasn't huge with tons and tons of people. It was a very nice neighborhood for independent living too. Everything, of course, was one floor, which was very important. There were no elevators. I didn't see anybody other than workers because it was really early in the morning and breakfast was already over by that time. They have good activities and they have movies and exercise programs. They have transportation with set schedules going to different grocery stores and pharmacies during the week for those people who don't drive on the independent living side. I was very impressed. It had good amenities too. The appliances looked like they're in good condition and relatively new. The staff that toured me had only been there a couple of weeks so she was limited on historic information, but she was friendly and forthcoming and knew most of the answers, so she was good and she tried hard. What was kind of nice, too, was that the independent living could have a meal in their dining room, they could go over and sit down, or it could be delivered to them. That was kind of a cool thing. I think it will cost $6, but that's cheap. The layout was very nice. It wasn't a huge giant facility so it was cozy. The gal didn't know when I asked how old the buildings were because some of them looked like they'd been around for a while. It was a beautiful neighborhood though, very quiet, and with lots of old oak trees. I was impressed because I've been to these facilities. I've been around them in several different states too and this was a nice one. I didn't see any maintenance personnel. I only saw 2 other workers, but it just had the clean feeling. It didn't smell of urine, food, or bleach. It was much cozier than that.

Live Oak Village is very nice. I like it. I have no problems. They are always there when you need them. The food is pretty good. The outside is pretty nice. I got enough trees for shade when it's sunny out. I know some places don't have shade. I have my little dog, got to take him out; I would get lost without him. The staff members do everything, and they're good at what they do. It's not a fancy restaurant, but it's not supposed to be. They are always cleaning everything. They clean every room, every week. Once a week they come clean out our rooms, they're always cleaning the hallways, common areas, and activity room. They clean them all the time. They do bingo and a bunch of other stuff. A movie on the weekend, not too many people go for it, I don't know why. We do rummy, different card games, and bowling.

We were very pleased with Live Oak Village Independent & Assisted Living. What stood out was the availability of services that we want. They had a nice community center, a swimming pool, and other activities that you could participate in. They also had food available that you didn't have to pay for every day, whether you use their services or not. There was good-looking food available and the dining hall was very nice, large enough, and very clean. The marketing director who took us on the tour was very knowledgeable and seemed enthusiastic about the facility, which I thought was very impressive. They had old and new apartments. The old apartments, of course, were less expensive, but they still had carpet in them. When they built the new ones, there was no carpet. In the old ones, I didn't consider it to be resident-friendly because of the carpet and we visited some units. I'm not just assuming that it would be a disadvantage. We went into a couple of units and just really the carpeting was a disincentive. There were other openings, but they were considerably more expensive than the ones that we could swing on our budget. We saw the daily offerings and they sounded balanced like it's something that we would enjoy eating. One thing I felt about it was it would be more like living at a resort than a retirement home.

Really just went for a "look see". The facility was nice and apartments were nice. Probably low-end construction but adequate and nice sized. Just didn't speak to us. They do what they say they do and were really friendly. All in all a very nice place for the price.

Live Oak is a very nice place. My sister-in-law seems to be doing well and is very happy there. They're very good. The people we have dealt with on her behalf have been wonderful. The food is very good too. I have eaten there once, and it was sort of country cooking. Live Oak has planned outings that are optional. They have games too. They also have an exercise room and a library. Their grounds are very nice and it is kept up beautifully. They have a fountain, shaded areas, and walking areas. They have a large screened-in room by a pond on the premises. It is a nice, peaceful place.

I liked Live Oak Village a lot. They had apartments and townhouses, and a separate assisted living area across the street. There's a big clubhouse, swimming pool, and dining room. The people I met were very nice, and the place looked nice.

If Live Oak had an opening, I probably would have moved there. The rooms were very nice and adequate, as far as being big enough. They had more things -- like an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. Of course, it was a higher fee, but they did not have an immediate opening. I’ve been very pleased, and they were very nice. They were clean. The lady who did the tour was very nice and very willing to help me out as much as she could.

We chose Live Oak Village because it's convenient to get to from my home and very nice, too. The staff is very attentive and very good. The food is good. Mom plays bingo and paints. They have entertainers like dancers and musical groups come in.

I visited Liveoak many times. It’s very nice, but we can’t afford it. It’s upper-middle-class. They have socials, day trips, and transportation to shopping.

The care is excellent at Live Oak Village. Mother is happier than she has even been. The administrative staff is very professional, but all of the staff is extremely friendly. They really care about the needs of their residents. It is extremely clean. Everything is immaculate.

I looked at Live Oak Village. It was small and homey, yet they had a selection as far as the size of apartments. They had more options as well as the fact that it was locally owned and operated and not run by a corporation. They offered assisted and independent living, but mom would be going to an independent living apartment complex. It was closer to where I live and had larger rooms.

Live Oak Village is such a very nice facility and that is where we wanted my mother-in-law to live. They have apartments for elderly people that don’t need a lot of help, and then they also have a place like in one building where they have assisted living. The place is very really clean, secured, and very nice. They have a clubhouse and a pool; a very nice place. The staff are very helpful. I met several of the residents and they were nice and happy.

LiveOak Village was nice enough. I could see myself living there. The rooms were nice. It has nice floor plans. The staff and residents were pleasant. The grounds were well kept, and the apartments were, too. This place doesn't change the carpets very often.

Live Oak is a larger facility, older and it had a sterile feel to it to me, more of a demerit kind of feel to it. They didn't feel like home to me. It felt more like a hospital. The living area like their rooms were actually larger but they seem to have good activities that they offered. They have a recreation room, they have a swimming pool. They have a little coffee shop that you can go in and get snacks during the day. And that was really all outside of where they eat. They did have an on-site salon to get their hair done. It's kind of sprawled out more as far as the rooms, the corridor. It just seems like the hallways go on forever. It just seemed a little more impersonal to me. They may not be but that's the feel I got. Other people might like it better than I did. It's not a bad place.

Christmas dinner for the seniors was the saddest thing. A dried up sandwich. 1 piece of meat that looked old. IF your going to give them a sack lunch for dinner at least make it appetizing. For the money paid there, very sad!

My dad knew about Live Oak that's why we went and visited this facility. Inside they have a screened-in porch where people can go outside. I like that best for this facility. They also have a common room where they have a TV. Their dining room was very large like a big restaurant. Their rooms were very nice. They were little more spacious than the other facility.

Live Oak is a nice and clean facility. Everything here was easy and accessible. It's hard for me to get around, so I like that. The staff were very nice and the facility offered daily activities for their residents. I wouldn't have any problems being there, it was just a little expensive for me.

My grandmother moved into one Liveoak's single room units a few years before she passed away. It is one of the nicer assisted living facilities I have encountered, the local countryside and proximity to the beach make for a pleasant environment. I never encountered any issues during my visits there - everything was always immaculately clean, both within the buildings and on the grounds themselves. The unit was spacious as far as singles go, and from visiting with my grandmother's friends they all seem to have nice, big windows for lots of natural light. The staff were all very helpful, and at the time of my grandmother's stay there was a low turn over rate, enabling for a more personal bonding with various staff. Because of its location there are not a lot of businesses (restaurants, stores, grocery) within very accessible distance, though there are various shuttle services that can be sought after should driving no longer be an option.
