I visited this facility

I toured The Brennity at Daphne. Their air conditioner was broken in several of the rooms in the middle of the summer. There was a 105-degree heat index outside, and some of the residents had no working air conditioning in their rooms. The living area also had no working air conditioning. They had fans set up. The rooms looked dingy and very small like jail cell-sized rooms. It wasn't great overall. The staff was very friendly and kind, but the facility itself was not in good condition. It was depressing. What I would suggest to them is to invest some of the money that they're making off of the residents in the facility. They need to do repairs and maintenance, maybe even try to expand their rooms a little bit and make the rooms larger and modern. They need to update it. Everything's very old, very small and rundown.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad is a resident of Brennity at Daphne. They've been very helpful. They walk step by step on everything with you. They're very caring and concerned. If something happens, like if you slip or fall, they call, and let you know. They give you updates and they keep you up to date on everything, and I like that. I haven't had the chance to try the food but my dad said the food is pretty good. The facility is good. They may have some flaws, but every Friday and during the day, they have people come in. They do activities, and have people come in and do gospel music. They exercise. They play bingo. For the value of money, it's pretty expensive.

I visited this facility

The Brennity at Daphne was very comfortably located close to me and easy to reach. The facility itself was nice. I was impressed by the director. The accommodations were a little bit smaller, but as far as being a resident there, I could see why people would enjoy it very much. The activities that they do have with them are what I am looking for, for my relative. I just appreciate it.

I went to The Brennity at Daphne, and it was great. It passed my inspection of what I call the urine test. It does not smell like urine when you walk in the door. The people looked happy. The rooms were clean. I like the common areas. For activities, they were watching some kind of movie, but we just walked through. They have a little barbershop, and they have a lot of little things there. It was cute. The building was very clean, very modern and well-kept.

I visited this facility

The Brennity at Daphne is a big facility. They have more different things and areas for the people. There's an ice cream parlor and a soda shop, and then they have more than just one sitting area for the people. The only thing I didn't like was their smaller rooms. I was wanting my sister-in-law to go there, but they don't have a two-week time and we couldn't do a full month at this point. The staff that I met seemed to be good.

I visited this facility

The Brennity at Daphne was very nice. The grounds and the facilities were very nice and well-kept. The staff was very pleasant, and the residents seemed happy. The rooms were very nice and spacious in the assisted living. Some of the amenities and things that they provide were little drinks stationed out in the halls. The design was very, very good. It was very clean, and it didn't have any odors. It was pleasant, homey, and uncomfortable looking. I would have liked for my dad to go in there, but he's progressed beyond the assisted living stage. The menus looked good, and they spoke very highly of the chef. The dining area was very, very nice and well set up. I'm sure that after COVID and once stuff has cleared out, it would be even better.

I visited The Brennity at Daphne for my mom. The staff was very nice, competent, and answered all my questions. I thought she was good. I liked the layout. It was like spokes on a wheel, sort of. There was a lot of nice open areas for the residents to sit and relax. They have a nice courtyard. Their eating area looked very nice. The place looked very clean and did not have the typical nursing home smell.

Just moved my mom to the Brennity at Daphne. The staff are very professional, courteous and go above and beyond to welcome new residents. The maintenance staff are eager to meet your needs and very responsive. The facilities are very clean and welcoming.

We liked The Brennity at Daphne. It was spacious, big, and had lots of security. It's not a campus where you have different buildings, but it's all under one roof, which makes it convenient for someone who is in a wheelchair or is barely walking. The staff is friendly, helpful, and whatever I ask for they try to provide. They really couldn't have done any better. They have a nice dining facility and they have outside patios. The office staff was friendly, helpful, efficient, and responsive. They treated us well and we appreciate it. It was a nice facility with a nice setting. It's in the woods, but close enough to town to be a very short drive away. The food presentation was good and the waiter was friendly.

I went to The Brennity at Daphne for my parents. They had very nice rooms too. The place for the memory care was very nice. I like how they had it set back in time. When people lose their memories they always remember their early days, so they have it set back to the early days. It is just very interesting; it is very nice that way. It has a hair salon and a soda fountain where you can go and get milkshakes. It also has Elvis' pictures around the place. It was very nice; I liked that a lot. It was very retro in the memory care section. The appointment that was set up for us was on a Saturday, but they didn't know we were coming, and they didn't have a normal person doing the tour. It was just somebody who was in the office there. She did a good job, but probably with the person that normally does it, the tour would have been a lot more thorough.

Overall, The Brennity at Daphne is pleasant and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a large activity room and they entertain them with bingo, quizzes, and music. They take them on bus rides and I like that. My mom is in their memory care section.

The Brennity was very clean, there was no smell, and the residents were well-dressed. The grounds are gorgeous, they have hundreds of acres of land, and it was overlooking a park. The person I was visiting was involved in a group card game, but they seemed to be having a good time. There was a group watching television.

The Brennity at Daphne was a very impressive place with assisted living and a memory care unit. It was very well-staffed and had a very good program. The lady, who was our tour guide, told us about their long-standing record of health inspections reflecting no deficiency, which is just unheard of. It is really a quality place. We thought the rooms were spacious for assisted living.

this facility is nice but very pricey and raising rents as fast as the market will stand ! They offered a $10,000.00 discount to new residents last yr in the Mobile (Ala.) Press Register. They : Sagora Corporation is the parent company, raised the rate of my mothers' apt. 5% from $3330 @ mos. to $3496 - $166. per mos. or $$1992 per yr ! somebody had to pay for this discount ! Sagora has also released most of the original staff who dedicated their lives to Mercy the former owner. and replaces with lower paid employees - loyalty means a lot to this company ! We have had several health issues w/ this new untrained staff : giving my 90 yr. old mother hot chocolate w/a straw ! of course burned my mothers throat - she didnt go back to cafeteria for 3 days, calling in a Psychiatrist or Psychologist who was NOT on BCBS (95% of ins. market) list of approved Dr.s so drastic reduced reimbursement. there are other problems but not enough space. bottom line this company Sagora and it's subsideraries ; Brennity et al look out for themselves 1st and tennants or residents when it benefits them ! No consideration of how prices effect residents financial stability !

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I moved my mother into The Brennity at Daphne. I have no problems with the staff. In the past two months, I have had very few issues. They got busy, and couldn't wash her clothes on the night they were supposed to wash them. I understand that dealing with these patients some nights, and my mother probably would be one of them; that gives them a hard enough time. They can't perform what they need to on the exact date. The rooms are very pleasant, and very clean. Her room is always clean, and her bed is always made. There's plenty of room for her to have a bed, a nightstand, a chair, and a TV. The rooms are not real large because they don't want the patients staying in their rooms. They want them out in the common area doing activities. I'm pleased with the room size. She doesn't need anything bigger than what she's got. They have a hairdresser that comes in a couple of days a week. Their food is excellent. So far, I have had no real complaints about the place. I would definitely recommend them. It has the largest courtyard in the State of Alabama. When I went into the Brennity, I knew it was going to be the right fit, and it is less than 2 miles from my home. It's real convenient. I'm there three or four times a week at different times during the day.

The Brennity was very nice. The woman who conducted the tour and provided all the information was very helpful and very friendly. I was impressed by the very nice facility. The rooms were probably a little smaller than what I would need for my parents, but overall, it had a very pleasant environment, it was very bright, the residents seemed happy, there were lots of activities, and it’s very close to where I live. It was a very positive experience. They do outings on a weekly basis, provide transportation for doctors’ appointments and to local shopping centers, bring in a chef to do cooking classes, conduct art classes, and have a book club. There were lots of options for social engagements and options for residents to be able to get out, especially if they’re no longer able to drive. There was transportation available for them and on-site activities. They only had two options for the rooms, a studio and a one-bedroom, so room option was a little more limited than what I was looking for. But outside of that, I really liked the place.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My mom has been a resident in the memory care unit for 6 months. Both of us, my mom and myself, could not be happier. Though mom has memory issues, she can still express herself well enough to let us know if she is happy and generally how she feels about things. She always states how pretty everything is at The Brennity and that she loves everyone there. When we leave for an outing, she must hug and kiss everyone bye - residents and staff. When returning, she is excited to get back and see what all is going on- in case she missed anything. It is such a positive experience and let's me know she feels happy and secure here. Never does she have a negative reaction about going home to The Brennity. I feel confident that mom is in good hands at The Brennity. The staff - everone- is friendly and helpful. No question or concern is treated as unimportant. Communication about mom's care is forthcoming and any concern - a cold, coughing, agitation, etc.. Is communicated to me immediately. I am never feel like I am " out of the loop". They are very proactive, The facility is beautiful and very clean. Mom is clean, fresh, and nicely dressed - even on unannounced visits. The food is good and residents have activities in the morning and afternoons. Residents are highly encouraged to participate and socialize...... Staying alone in their room is discouraged. When issues arise requiring a loved one to leave home for third party care it is an unsettling time for everone - anxiety, worry, even guilt. The Brennity team helps with this transition to minimize negative issues for all concerned. But most important, as you experience the love and care and comfort The Brennity provides- you know you made the right decision,

I visited The Brennity at Daphnne. The girl that I spoke to there was very delightful, and her grandmother was actually there, which was a very good recommendation. It was a very sunny and open space. The food seemed to be excellent. The other thing I liked was they had a lot of places for people to walk outside like sidewalks. They had very large grounds that were very well kept, and the layout was nice. It was just a really nice place, but it was a little more expensive. I was a little larger. It had a second floor, and they had 2 options of rooms.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I have been in The Brennity for a few days now. I think the room is very nice, and I have only eaten in the dining room once during the Thanksgiving holidays; I have been with my family. The one time I did eat there, it was nice. So far everybody has been very nice, friendly, and very helpful. The rooms are clean, and they have a lot of activities.

My mother is living in The Brennity. I would say that the community is clean. The people there are very friendly too. They have two different sizes of rooms. They have one bedroom apartments which are very nice. They also have a one bedroom studio, and it gets lots of light. They have a wide range of activities. They have different guests coming in to play music, do lots of games, or crafts. They also have church services and exercise classes. There is always going on every couple of hours.

My mom-in-law loves being at Brennity at Daphne. I love it too. She is getting the therapy that they have setup for all the memory care patients. The staff there keeps them calm and helpful. She never had anything bad to say about the food. She seems to be really happy in the facility. It's very clean and everybody is overly helpful. They have a beautiful outdoor facility for the residents.

It has only been a week, but so far my mother has absolutely flourished at the Brennity. The staff are super sweet and caring. She absolutely loves the food- it is the kind of country cooking that she adores. They have an incentive program for activities where they receive an "activity dollar" when they participate. Once a month they have an auction where they bid on prizes with their activity dollars. She is staying busy participating in every activity! I love that they have a doctor who comes to see them at the facility- no more waiting all day for a doctors appointment! My mom loves it there.
