I visited a dear friend on 26 Feb 23. Employees were nice enough, but the living conditions are pathetic. The building (especially inside) looks like it hasn’t been renovated since the Truman administration. The place smelled horribly…like pee and excrement.

I was impressed with Blue Ridge Healthcare Birmingham (Fairview Health and Rehab). It was very clean and there was no smell or odor. The staff was very nice, explained things, and was very courteous. She took us to the physical therapy area. Everything was in place. The clients all seemed clean and dressed.

My mother-n-law was not getting proper care. We visited the facility about 8:00 p.m. and found that my mother had not eaten since 1:30 p.m. Also, they were suppose to take her to physical therapy and she sat in a wheelchair for two hours in the lobby before they remembered she was suppose to have physical therapy. They did not realize that she could not feed herself. We found her one day eating with her hands. She had wasted the food all over herself and the bed.
