My mom has been in East Glen several times for rehab. My mother-in-law has been there several times too for rehab so I am very familiar with the facility. It's a very nice facility, very clean and updated. With COVID stuff, it is kinda hard to tell, with all the activities they are getting to do, compared to what they used to be able to do. But I know they constantly have some kind of activity forum in keeping them busy and that was one of my concerns. The fact of her going from rehab to the skilled nursing side and not being able to have outside visitors, how they're gonna be able to keep them from feeling lonely. They said they keep them very busy with activities so I'm trusting in that. As far as visiting in the rehab part, I have wheeled her around to that end of the complex. It's not a separate building, it's a small facility anyway. When she's been in the rehab part, I would always encourage her to participate so I would be there when they were having bingo and that sort of thing even when my mother-in-law was in there. From what I saw, they were happy. I think that alone, if they are happy, then that's all that matters to me. That means they are being treated right and not depressed. The food was always very good to me every time that I've been there. The seasonings gotta be different because people have medical situations as far as salt and that type of seasoning. I think that was probably one of my mother's complaints cause it's not season enough. It's always been kept very clean. Sometimes you can walk in to a nursing home or hospice, you automatically have that different smell. I never really experienced that when I walked in to that facility. It's closer to home so that's a major drive for me.

My family member is only at East Glen for rehab. However, the weekend charge nurses are a little to be desired for. They are very rude and unprofessional to family members, when asking about their family members care. It appeared to me this facility was very under staffed. I wonder about my family members care for the next 20 days. My family member arrived on a Friday. I was told limited rehab would be offered on Saturday. Well, rehab wasn't offered at all. I wish I would have did my research on other rehab facilities.

My mother was in East glen for rehab, and I thought they were wonderful. They're very caring, very helpful, they take everything seriously, and I really enjoyed the fact that she was there. The staff was fabulous, and it looked like they had a lot going on.
