    She wants them to do the dishes and help her get up and down, and some of them are not able to do more hands on things. I guess they just sit there. They could make sure that the caregivers are there when scheduled, on time, and make sure that the caregivers are good matches and the personalities click.

    Our caregiver changes her and she looks for stuff to do. She has a tremendous amount of sensitivity to her environment. Our caregiver is wonderful and she's one of the family and when she's not here we dread that. Certain personalities don't mesh and it is what it is, there's one or two others that meshed with my wife.

    I have been taking care of my mom for 10 years; it is a nice respite and gives me a break during the week. I like that they are always very watchful, touch base, and make sure that everything is alright. I know I can contact the individuals very easily. Our caregiver is great and fits in. If I have a concern, they are right there. I have been very happy with them.

    They send the right caregivers over for us. They know what they're doing. This agency is so polite and courteous, and the caregiver mopped my floor for me, which was nice. She also bathes my husband, and she changed all my trash cans.

    I hired Synergy to help care for my elderly mother. My concern with Synergy comes down to their poor training, management, and oversight of their caregivers. I worked with two different Synergy caregivers. When the first caregiver did not work out, I gave Synergy a second chance with another caregiver. Unfortunately, my overall experience with both was very similar. As an example, both caregivers were on their cell phone over half of their time. I would have been totally fine had they used their phones occasionally during the day. Given the behavior across multiple Synergy caregivers, I cannot fault them, as the root cause can be attributed to poor oversight, training, and business practices. Think about how you would feel if you paid contractors out of your own pocket, to come into your house for 8 hours a day to renovate your home, and they spent over half their time relaxing on their cell phones. What would that say about the company you hired, their culture, and business practices. How even more serious, where an elderly person’s well-being is at stake. Even after talking to Synergy several times, giving a second caregiver a chance, etc., this still continued. But that’s not all. Not only was my mother’s care compromised, but Synergy still billed me for every single minute without exception, despite being fully aware of this.

    I'm not a typical client, I'm a healthy middle-aged woman and have just used them for help around surgeries and things. The caregivers are very professional, competent, warm, and kind.

    I had high expectations, based on the online reviews I read, but was very disappointed with the quality of the two caregivers provided. The first was chronically late in the mornings, stayed on the phone for a good part of the day, and actually fell asleep on a few occasions. Her replacement, which the company provided was a nice individual, but was also on the phone for a good part of the day and did not engage with my mother. The company is too expensive for this kind of care--charging a high hourly rate, but paying their caregivers far less. For these reasons, I would look elsewhere.

    They care for my dad who lives in Arlington. I live in CT and he doesn't have children close enough to check in on him daily. It's nice to have the help there to monitor his health and do some tasks like preparing meals and housecleaning that he's not capable of doing. As a company they may need to do more follow up with their customers - checking in monthly to see how things are going. They do check in from time to time, I don't think it's frequently enough.

    In the past the services have been very high and helpful. We need someone who is very warm and friendly. They can't be cold or distant. They need to be perceptive. If she is in a bad mood, they need to know to back off. It may be part of the COVID-19 situation, but the person that they found is having trouble getting along with the people in the facility where my wife is. I don't know if they picked the wrong choice, or if it is a facility problem.

    I'm happy to have someone here twice a day because it makes me a little less anxious. I've experienced a lot of different people because it was hard for them to provide a steady person. I never had a situation where a person was unpleasant or difficult, but sometimes I have gotten caregivers that didn't go out of their way to do more than sit on the couch and watch TV.

    I couldn't be in my home without their services. I can no longer bathe or dress myself. I can't cook for myself either. One thing I like about the agency is that I have passed by two dogs in the house, and they are good at taking care of my pets. I also have a 3-year-old child in the house because of my roommate and they are good with the child, other than two of them.

    It is helpful, but sometimes it adds to the workload because I have to schedule. I have recommend them. This is the second year that we have used Synergy. Last year we used them for three or four months. It was excellent because we had the same caregiver the whole time, which was three or four days a week. This time it is a little more hit or miss. The caregivers have had to change. They need a little continuity.

    She is not totally happy and it is the same with me because when she is not happy, my life is not happy. They need to do a better job and communicate better. They need to have more follow-up and more on-site observations.

    I worry about it less, and it's nice knowing that someone is coming that he is comfortable with. She does a very good job of cleaning the place, but doesn't do much of fixing him food and I don't know if that was listed in the plan or not.

    I need more consistency. That's my biggest concern. They don't provide consistent caregivers and they don't notify me on who's coming.

    Theo, Thank you for your feedback. It is very difficult to provide consistency for the 4 hour, sporadic shifts that our clients such as yourself request. Our caregivers prefer longer hours and additional days. But we try anyway, because many clients still need just the 4 hours a couple of times a week. I know also that there was some confusion about when you came home from the hospital and when we were to resume service. For that we apologize. Thank you for using our service and we’re sorry that we did not meet all of your expectations.

    My loved one is completely happy with the caregiver, and I'm comfortable being gone all day. I don't have any complaints. They came and were very thorough. They are competent and I feel comfortable with them. We also get the same caregiver every week and she is really good.

    I would recommend SYNERGY HomeCare because the owner of the company is personally involved in all the right ways. They have excellent staff in the supervisors of the folks that do the work. I like the service we're getting and it's good management. SYNERGY HomeCare has helped because they work diligently to get my mom to go to bed.     I would tell others that SYNERGY HomeCare hires good people. They seem to be experienced. I was provided with more information about my father by his caregivers. This helped me know what was going on with him.

    SYNERGY HomeCare did their job well, and some of their caregivers were better than others. My mother wants to be independent, and she wants to be able to care for herself. It was helpful for my mother to have caregivers to be with her and keep her safe.

    SYNERGY HomeCare was really good, and they were very quick. They had good response time to my requests and filling my needs. I was having problems with weakness in my legs and hands due to seizures. The aide showed me how to do things and reminded me how to do things.

    I would tell someone that SYNERGY employs caregivers that provide a wide range of various activities that help my mother who is almost ninety years old. SYNERGY helps the client get dressed and go to the restroom. They play cards with her and things like that.

    I didn't feel that there was orientation from SYNERGY HomeCare for the client and the caregiver. Some caregivers thought I was supposed to feed them, and I wasn't sure what I should do. There was inconsistency in performance of the caregivers. Some were really productive and others would lay on the couch. Some caregivers were on their cell phones. Some caregivers of SYNERGY HomeCare would watch TV and not help me make my life easier.

Indeed we should have spent time orienting you to how our services work, and what you can expect from us. We apologize that your experience did not meet all of your expectations, including the behavior of some of the caregivers. We need that feedback from our clients and please know that we have taken appropriate follow up action with regard to your comments. We appreciate your recognition that some caregivers were productive. That is our standard that we strive for every day. Thank you again for your thoughtful evaluation of your experience.

    Synergy HomeCare was very good. They came on time, understood the situation, and their people were quite well trained. I was pleased that they had the same person come every day and every evening. My father had 24-hour daycare. They bathed him, tried to feed him, made sure that he got liquids, shaved him, changed his clothes every day, made sure that he was comfortable, and changed his position. Time scheduling and management were excellent, and the pricing was much cheaper than the other agency.

    I had been the sole caregiver for my partner who has dementia when a friend recommended that I get some in-home assistance. She recommended Synergy home care. I have been involved with Synergy for about seven months and have been entirely satisfied with all aspects of the company from the person who answers the phone, generally on the first ring, to the women who come into my home on a daily basis. All are professional, competent, and above all, caring. Whenever I have had to make schedule changes, especially in an emergency, I have been given the services I needed without any hesitation. Synergy's support and excellent work has made an enormous difference in our lives and we are very grateful to them.

    Reliable, dependable, positive, kind, professional--words I use to describe two years of service from Synergy/AA, VA. They have given my 95-year old mother, who lives with us, a quality of life that is full of peace, warmth and kindess. The caregivers are highly competent professionals, motivated to be kind and thorough. The administrative staff is responsive and effective. The company reviews and trains their staff on a regular basis. You could not ask for more.

    Synergy Home Care was very helpful to my father during the last year and a half he was alive and living at an assisted living facility. Synergy assisted him in getting to and from doctor's appointments, was always on time, and stayed with him until he was safely back in his room. Synergy was also very helpful to me when I had surgery in late September 2011 and was out of work for two weeks and could not drive or lift anything heavy. Synergy's staff was super, they helped me run errands, shop for groceries, and took me to my doctor's appointments. Synergy Home Care is a great organization with a super staff of great people!
