I'm able to do more now, since I've gotten someone to come help me twice a week. They help the most by helping me manage my day to day. I have animals, and my caregiver loves my animals. She does laundry, and I've taught her how to bake. I would recommend them because I get great care myself, and I believe in the staff, they are excellent.

I told Claudia that I don't really need anybody, but it is nice to have someone here, even just three times a week, that I can at least talk to. Some things need to be done that my caregiver is not supposed to do, so I guess I will have to hire someone to come in and do heavier work for me. I like that they are there when I need them.

For me, I don't have to worry about Lorena having her twin sister and ourselves there. If she falls, she will not be able to help her get up. It gives me peace of mind knowing someone is there with Lorena. Everyone has been so responsive and just very nice.

They don't give me notice if the caregiver is going to be late, and they will send a different person sometimes without letting us know, which confuses my elderly mother. They just don't follow up with me. When the caregiver was coming regularly, it was good and made my life easier, but the inconsistency is frustrating.

Two weeks ago they were outstanding, but they gave me a call recently that they're sending someone different and I was too far away to warn my mother. She has dementia. There should have been more warning. It allows me the freedom to execute my life. I like knowing that she's safe with someone so I'm able to leave her at home.

On average, the caregivers are a team. They all work really well together. The care is safe and the caregivers know what they're doing. They're very attentive. It gives me more flexibility because Mom has someone with her 24/7. I'm newly retired, so at my age and physical limitations, there's no way I could move in and take care of her. It's given me a lot of freedom to let me do what I want to do.
