We used Comfort Keepers at one time. They offer a lot of different services, but we were using their in-home assistance where they help with the cooking and the cleaning. They had one caregiver, Josefina, that Mom just absolutely loved. However, she went back to school, so they lost her, and then it was like a series of different people each time. You can't do that with an Alzheimer's patient, so that did not work and we stopped using them. Billing was never a problem, but the scheduling was sometimes a problem. They had a hard time keeping one person. The main thing is that too many different people were coming and going and my father, who is the main caregiver, had to re-train every person that would come, and it was just a lot of work.
What you can do with Caring
About Comfort Keepers - College Station in College Station, Texas
Comfort Keepers of Bryan/College Station and Conroe: Aron and Linnann Collins, Texas A&M classes of 1997 and 1995, established Comfort Keepers of Bryan/College Station (2007) and the Conroe area (2010) in order to help seniors live happy, healthy lives in the privacy and comfort of their own homes. They understood the need for this service after watching Linnann's mother leave her husband in Houston so she could move to Tivoli where she cared for Linnann's grandmother for seven years on their family's 100 year old homestead. "We recognized a need for caregivers so families wouldn't have to exchange their lives or put them on hold to care for elderly parents or loved ones," explained Aron. This experience prompted the Collins to research companies that provide non-medical in-home care services. They found the perfect fit with Comfort Keepers.
Aron and Linnann have a strong desire to serve in the community, to care for the aging population, as well as to make a significant impact in the quality of life of our seniors. Comfort Keepers is widely recognized as a leading provider of quality in-home care to seniors and other clients who need help with the activities of daily living. Our goal is to enrich the lives of our clients as we enable them to maintain the highest possible level of independent living in their own home for as long as possible. The special people who deliver our unique brand of in-home care, who we call Comfort Keepers, are carefully selected, screened and trained to provide professional, compassionate care.
