I'm using Associated Personal Care. They're private. They send out homemakers who live in the same general area that you do. I get two hours a day, two days a week with the option to do more if I want. My caregiver does laundry, dusts, washes the floors, cleans the kitchen and the bathroom, and washes the dishes, too. It's all non-medical, and those are the kinds of stuff I need help with. I can take my own pills. My problem is opening jars and bending over, so she kind of acts like my hands. The woman they sent me is great. She's very, very attentive. She gets a lot done in just one visit. She also helps take out my trash and mails letters for me. She does a really good job. She's very friendly and very reliable. I call them up when I know I'm going to a doctor's appointment, and I don't want her to come over if I'm not home. I also get informed by them pretty timely if she's called in sick or something happens. I would say communication is definitely good.
