We recently placed my Grandmother into a facility. She was just discharged from hospital and needed extra support overnights. The hours were 10pm-6am. RAH was recommended by the facility. Initially all seemed ok, there were some lags in communication by overnight caregiver, but it was worked out. We were soon informed by facility staff that the caregiver was reporting late to work and leaving during the shift. Caregiver admitted to leaving once.....We immediately fired RAH. Make sure you investigate comings and goings. We were not satisfied and RAH is incredibly lucky that nothing happened during the caregiver absences. Because we did not video (who would have thought we had too), we were not compensated for the missing hours. Getting deposit back was slow.

She ended up in the hospital several times with infections that could have very easily been prevented. The agency needs to improve staffing and the ability for people to show up. They could actually set expectations for the people that they send. It's very difficult to get someone in to do any of the normal tasks that normally my mother would complete.
