My father was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and it progressed quickly. The whole ordeal was very sudden and something we were completely unprepared for. My family and I are extremely grateful that we found Comfort Home Care. I am really not sure how we would have made it through this if we hadn't found an in home care giver for my father that we instantly felt like we could trust and rely on. The company's professionalism, empathy and commitment were a godsend. Everyone we met and worked with showed genuine and heartfelt concern for my father and for my family. I am eternally grateful to all of the professionals in the organization and particularly Bill Gelfeld, the owner, for making the rest of my father's life relaxed and happy. Thank you so much.

Comfort Home Care helped us with my mom until she passed away recently. I have to say I was very pleased with the support and compassion they provided. We had the opportunity to interview the care worker to make sure they were a good fit and there was always someone on hand to handle questions, up to and including the owner of the company, Bill. It was pretty easy to figure out their services, not too much paper work and a good website with useful information. They also sent a nurse, the case manager and the aide to the first meeting so we didn't waste time getting set up. Overall, I would happily recommend Comfort Home Care.

When my father had complications from a scheduled surgery, he was admitted to the hospital ICU where he remained for almost a week. We wanted to be sure that he was carefully monitored, especially at night, when staff are few and they only check in rarely on patients. So, we hired a nursing aide from Comfort Home Care to stay the night with him in the hospital to provide extra care. The aide was extremely patient and kind with my father and it gave us peace of mind knowing that someone was with him all night, focusing only on his needs. The aide even went above and beyond when taking care of my father, little things like giving him a shave and sponge bath to make him feel better and more human while being trapped in an ICU bed. We are so appreciative of their loving care and would definitely recommend them to help care for your loved ones.

We have been very pleased with the service they have provided. Bill is in our Rotary Club. My husband had a stroke in March 2011. He was taken to the hospital and subsequently to the Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital of Maryland. When it was time for him to be discharged, the case workers there indicated that we would need to have in-home care. I immediately contacted Bill and he came to the rehab hospital and talked with us and the case workers. He came with us to the house to do whatever needed to be done. From then on, we have had caregivers from Comfort Home Care. At first we had more caregivers because I didn't want to leave my husband alone. He was unable to do a number of the activities of daily living at that time. We have had five different caregivers, starting off with two five-hour shifts per day. I was the one with him at night because we didn't have 24/7 care. I was the one with her at night because we didn't do 24/7 care. Then my husband was able to do more things himself and so we cut back on the hours because it was no longer necessary. We were extremely, extremely pleased with the caregivers, with their sensitivity and their feeling of dignity for the patient. They have the ability to integrate into the household and knowing where things are and that sort of thing. I like their pleasant attitude. My husband has improved greatly and a good deal of that is because of the Comfort Home Care staff. The person that we have takes my husband to rehab. He has really helped in learning to get himself dressed and all sorts of things. I can't say too much about how happy we've been with them. We have recommended them to other people whom we knew needed help and they're equally satisfied.
What you can do with Caring
About Comfort Home Care, LLC in Rockville, Maryland
Comfort Home Care Helps Your Loved Ones Age In Place With Grace
Comfort Home Care is a family-owned business dedicated to helping our clients age in place with grace and comfort. Our mission is to provide high-quality, dependable nursing assistance that ensures that each client can be as comfortable and happy as possible; whether in their own home or an independent or assisted living facility. We have an incredible staff of caregivers dedicated to helping our clients with the acts of daily living as well as a number of additional functions to help them facilitate their independent lifestyles.
We practice People Centered Care, and in addition to understanding their health needs, we want to learn about your loved one's hobbies, activities, food preferences, family members (kids, grandkids, friends), and affiliations so that we can provide the best care and environment. This enables us to create a Care Plan tailored specifically to their requirements and makes it possible for us to select a caregiver that is a good match with them. We've found that when matched well the client thrives and develops a nice bond with the caregiver. We frequently invite our new clients and their families to interview several different caregivers that we feel would be a good fit so they can make an informed decision.
At Comfort Home Care we believe in keeping things simple and straightforward. We require no lengthy agreements, no upfront retainers, and no complex pricing structures. We have a single hourly rate with the same rate for nights and weekends. Our initial assessment is complementary as are all ongoing assessments. As a locally-owned company we have the ability to react quickly to meet the changing needs of our clients, and there is no corporate red tape to overcome.
