The caregivers could have a greater impact if they could follow the actual care plan and stay the entire time. They could also not bill for time that they're not there. The agency needs to improve the quality of their caregivers, their training, and communication with families.

I had had a caregiver called Stone Cold and Chris. They made me tea and helped me clean. I do need them to ask me what I need and how I am doing. It was good and bad. We had some caregivers that were not as good of a fit and some that were a good fit. The caregiver said that I refused services but that was not accurate. They need to ask me questions and interview me so you know what I need. They need more of a variety of people.

The client really enjoyed George. He loved George coming out, and he loved his mannerisms. I think it had a very awesome impact. The caregiver helped the client with his bathing. I think the companionship meant a lot to the client because it was another guy that he could talk to when he was getting his care and he felt very comfortable with it. I really liked the worker the client had that came out here, George. He was really nice.

They need to be familiar with a hoyer lift. They need to know how to change a catheter and colostomy bag. They should always bring gloves with them. They should always be using gloves. They need to be pre-certified and pre-qualified for my case. They can vet their people better.
