There is ease of transition between caregivers. There really isn't anything they could do. I'm a loaner, so I don't need company. Having anyone around the house besides myself or my wife can be irritating. There is no way around that. I like that I can call if we have an issue.

It's hard to put into words what I like. We happen to have a very good caregiver Monday through Friday who anticipates his needs. She is very good in negotiating with him and making him feel like he has a choice, like with showering or taking a walk.

I had an accident and fractured my hip, and I was incapable of cleaning the house and doing a lot of stuff like going to the market. There was a lot of stuff that I couldn't do that they did for me. The workers are dependable and are willing to do things. They're good quality.

Anything that needs to be done gets done while she is here. They are able to do what I ask and do it immediately. They go wherever I need to go, and they are accommodating and good-natured. The person who manages my situation is always on the ball. If a caregiver can't come, then they get someone else to come over here. I haven't always liked them, but they did their job.

It is my fault because I only have eight hours. By the time someone comes in, I have other things that I need to do. I don't get as much time as I would want and that is because of the cost. They are very good at up-keeping. I think that they are good at getting back to me, but I would prefer more client involvement. If someone calls in and says that they can't do the job anymore, I would like to be called. If someone can't come in, I would want them to call me and see what I would like to have happen.

They were so responsive. Any time I called, there was a response right away, and they took the initiative to call me and see how I was doing. I didn't need a lot of care, I just needed someone around to help me with things, so I could supervise them pretty carefully. One of the caregivers that was here for only a day took a lot of initiative in doing things, but even the new caregivers who had to be supervised a little more, were happy and eager to do the work.

They have a care manager, which is a position that doesn't exist in a lot of places, and this person provides regular updates to us. I live far away from my loved one and I have found that Home Care Assistance sometimes makes emergencies where they don't exist, and that can be tiring. I think the caregivers are great for my loved one. I think they are well trained and good at providing care, but sometimes I feel like they are looking at us for answers. I want them to be more willing to take control.
