To begin I was not allowed to tour the facility when I requested. I was told that they hadn't lifted the COVID restrictions. If I had toured this facility, I would NOT have permitted my partner to be transferred there. First, this facility is old and dingy. It definitely needs remodeling. The rooms are dark and depressing. When my partner arrived, his room hadn't been cleaned, as there was tons of visible dirt in the closet, on the floor. Medical equipment, like the machine that provided oxygen sounded outdated, and made a loud sound, as if something was wrong with the motor. My partner was transferred late in the evening. When EMS dropped him off, we waited 35 minutes before any member of the nursing staff came to see him. There were two helpers in the hallway on their cellphones during that time period. Some of the staff members seemed caring and interacted with me and some didn't. The level of care for my partner started out fair, but quickly went downhill. His personal care was not thorough. In one instance, I used bathing cloths to wipe his face and his neck. The cloths were brown with dirt. When I asked his CNA if he was bathed for the day, the CNA said yes, but offered to do it again, since he was clearly still dirty. This time I supervised, and showed the CNA how he should be wiping my partner down. There was a major lapse in care. My partner was able to sit up and interact with me when he arrived. I was there everyday except for two days where it was really bad weather and I couldn't get there. I noticed changes when I was finally able to see my partner. I asked questions when I noticed something that didn't seem right. I advocated for him to get blood work done and an x-ray because he had a fever for a whole day and was not even looking at me or anyone else. He was nonresponsive, and all they were doing was giving him Tylenol. This was the catalyst for me pulling him from this facility. I had the ambulance called to get him to the hospital because I didn't like the way he looked or sounded. The doctors at the hospital told me that I saved his life because he was now septic. Do not send your loved one to this facility!

Staff is nice but management is disorganized and argumentative. I would not go there if I had a choice. The administrator (Jodi) has no real concern for the mental health of her patients. Very self-righteous.

My mother was in this facility following her stroke. The rehab team was very informative and worked diligently to get my mother the therapy she needed to be independent again. The staff is friendly, the location is convenient, and facility is very nice.
I'm embarrassed of the nursing field

I repeat I mean I repeat do not put your loved ones in this nursing home it is the worst nursing home I have ever been to the night shift is horrible they never have enough people to work when they call the Don the Adon the scheduler they do not answer the phone a few nurses got attitudes smart mouth the evening shift leave their bed soaked and wet I seen it with my own eyes even if you reported they still don't do anything I can't believe the state of Texas they should be ashamed of their self's that's why Texas is ranked number one in the worst nursing homes

DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT PLACE ANY ONE YOU LOVE HERE. No communication. My loved one was here due to aspiration pneumonia. Speech therapy very involved, recommended thickened liquids only. I have come in several times over the last two days, each time finding regular water at her bedside. When I asked the nurse, she said she would remind the CNAs again, but she couldn't watch them all day. Her light took forever to get answered, and when it was they informed me she would have to wait until they could find some help "It might be awhile" Now her bottom is broken down. I finally requested her to be transferred back to the hospital before something more severe happened. Lots of families I spoke with were very unhappy, higher up were not concerned. Very sad! Seems more about getting them in, making their money and sending them on their way.

We had my mother there less than 2 days. Horrible care. I can’t believe that MCA recommended this place. Do your research!! Don’t just trust that the hospital wants what’s best for your loved one. We couldn’t get the call light answered. When someone finally did come in they turned off the light and said they didn’t have enough help and would be right back. Never came. Tried to discuss concerns with higher ups.... they could not care less.

My brother-in-law is a resident of Arbrook Plaza, but my wife was not really satisfied with it. Weve had some issues with the staff members because its not as clean as it should have been. They have a therapy room.

My wife was here 1 1/2 days with fractured left arm and hip .No help from nurse or nurses aid she laid in her poop for around 4 hrs. they brought her dinner didn't cut the meat or open her drinks, still laying in poop. she didn't receive all of her meds for copd. around 6pm they finally cleaned her up, smearing poop and leaving it to dry. the next morning she tried to get some to help her to the bath room,No one showed up after 2 hrs of pushing call button. She called me at work I came and took her out at 8:30 am. She had not received and meds at that time nor used the bathroom I thought I had done enough research. I have notified the state but no response yet Do yourself a favor don't use this place

I received a phone call around 1230 last night from the nursing home to inform us that Krista has passed away. I called them back this morning at 7:03am. The lady that answered the phone i do not remember her name but i will be finding out. When i told her who i was she told me i never called her back with the amount Krista drew from Social Security, i asked her if the facility was calling to let me know Krista had passed and if so i had already received 4 phone calls to let me know. Then i gave her the amount and asked how much did i owe for Krista staying there. He put me on hold and calculated the amount of $955.56. I told her i would cut her a check today and be up to pick up Krista's things. I waited 5 minutes then realized how insensitive she was being and is only looking at the amount of monies owed. So i called back a lady by the name Paulette answered so i asked is it usual and customary to be so insensitive when someone passes to demand payment. (Krista just passed 9 hours previously.) Paulette stated its business. You know how it is people do not pay their bills.

If you are considering long term care or rehabilitation this is not the place you want to place a loved one. My mother had 4 falls the first of which she broke her hip. After breaking her hip two weeks later she had two falls within two days one of which she received a black eye as well as suffering from a stroke the next day. No transfer paperwork was sent to the hospital nor was the family notified. The administrator thought these issues were not worthy of meeting with family about because he was eating lunch. When he decided to cowardly surface from his office he was not concerned to say the least. Again do not waste your time or efforts. This place is incompetent fro the bottom up.

My husband had a fall, so he is in Arbrook Plaza for therapy. He was apprehensive at first with all the medical issues he has, but they manage him very well. The staff has been very good. He is comfortable with his room, although it's a little small if he has company. There are two people in a room and not much room left for an extra chair in there. The facility itself is nice and clean. The outside landscaping is really nice.

My mom is at Arbrook Nursing and Rehab. Considering that it is a nursing home, the staff does the best that they can there. My mom has been there for about four years now. She is in a room with two people. She is on Medicaid now. The rooms are OK. My mom won't go to the dining room; she has her food brought to her, and she is very particular. Food is OK, but I don't think it's great. Also since my mom is at the end of the hall, by the time she gets served her food, it is not very hot.

Arbrook Plaza is one of the best skilled nursing facilities in Texas. Every organization has issues from time to time but our family has been very well served by the people there. It is a shame that what appears to be disgruntled employees or people that don't pay their bills, simply go on a site like this and tear down a group of people who work hard to help our loved ones. We are happy with Arbrook, any minor issues we have had were handled immediately. I wish more people that have had our experience would post their reviews. Thank God for the staff at Arbrook Plaza.

HORRIBLE. MY FATHER HAD BEEN THERE SEVERAL TIMES FOR A BROKEN HIP. IN THE BEGINNING THEY SEEMED CARING AND TOOK GOOD CARE OF MY FATHER. THE LAST TIME HE WAS THERE I UNDERSTAND THAT THE OWNERS HAD CHANGED AND THE CARE WAS AWFUL. AFTER MY FATHERS MEDICARE BENIFITS RAN OUT WE PRIVATE PAYED FOR 2 MONTHS. THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO BILL ME FOR $1006 WHICH THEY STILL SAY I OWE I HAD THEM TO SEND ME A PRINTOUT OF THE CHARGES AND AT THE END OF DECEMBER I HAD A CREDIT OF $912 WHICH THEY DID NOT CARRY OVER TO PAY FOR JANUARY. THEY ARE REFUSING TO HONOR THE CREDIT I HAVE SO I GUESS I AM GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE THEM TO COURT TO MAKE AN EXAMPLE OF THEM. THEY ARE VERY RUDE WHEN YOU TRY TO DEAL WITH THE BUSINESS OFFICE.

I would not recommend Arbrook Plaza. We had a horrid experience with them. Every time my father would push the button they would take 45 minutes or longer for someone to come to attend to him. They are understaffed and they have too much work to do and that's why they can't take care of everybody who needs to be taken care of although the food was okay.

NO INFORMATION OR PLAN OF CARE WAS SHARED WITH ME FOR WEEKS AFTER ADMISSION. THE NURSING STAFF DID NOT SEEM CARING NOR ORGANIZED. THE ROOMS WERE DARK AND DEPRESSING. OVERALL, THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO HANDLE ALZHEIMERS PATIENTS.

My father received extremely poor care there for six weeks in March 2001 and again in October 2011. He had bi-lateral amputations and was left with no clothes, WC across the room, prosthesis' far away from him. If he had had 2 of the 3, he could have helped himself. I would come in after breakfast and find him OFTEN in this situation, unfed and no call light. How would you function if left in that state??? And what could a daughter do about it besides complain? My dad is jovial, a happy singer of fun tunes and a Christian man, but these problems were just to much! He tried to hate the care and love the employees who mistreated him. I always told him to let me be the big heavy, and he be nice, sweet Mr. Harold, He would get much better care. Now if you don't believe that is true, you do not need to be in the healthcare field! I would never recommend this place to anyone!
