My aunt has been to 3 other places I can honestly say that Allis is the best so far. The therapy department is AMAZING. She is here for a stroke and has come such a long way in a very short time. Granted the building needs a little upgrade. After seeing the ratings, I was a bit skeptical but my parents asked me to tour anyways because not many other places accept her insurance and they refused for her to return to the other 3 places she was at. So I came to tour and found parking to be a little challenging but was welcomed warmly. Then as I waited for the admission person to come give me the tour, there were a few men in the lobby discussing the Packers and I asked them how they liked it here. They had nothing but nice things to say. One did point out the food was not the greatest. When my aunt arrived, her room had welcome balloons outside her door and she had a nice gift basket on her bedside table filled with all sorts of things she can use during her stay. It was a nice pick me up. None of the other places did anything like that for her. My parents live in FL so I come here daily to check on my aunt. The staff are always willing to talk my parents when they call and and the staff answer all of our questions. I even am able to talk to her doctor who follows her here Her aid lets me know if she participated in activities or if she is a little under the weather. When she does not go to any activities they have someone who comes into the room to talk to her or do something with her at her beside. I understand not everyone has a good experience and people seem quick to write something bad but I wanted to wait until I was able to have enough time spent in the building to make my own assessment and I am very pleased. I guess you get out of it what you put in.

There is blood on the ceilings. The paint is peeling everywhere. The LPNs are negligent in drug and tube feeding. The place is filthy, unwashed, unkept and unsanitary. Then there is the STENCH of old dried urine. They lock the outside door at 8pn so the only way out is for staff to press a hidden button. What would happen if a fire breaks out and the power gets cut and you can't get out. The food is not good enough for for a dog. The staff is absent and lazy. The RTs dont pay attention to pulse oximeter alarms even when they are right outside of the door. This place is a total toilet and NEEDS to be closed permanently. Do yourself and your family a favor, AVOID this place like your life depends on it because it does. The staff DOES have integrity and honesty issues if the rest isn't enough. If I could give a 0 or negative value, I would.

Several family members and friends have visited my family member who has been here for several weeks. His condition warrants that he should definitely not be in this facility. Everything said in the other reviews are completely true. Room calls are not answered in a timely manner, 25 min, 1 hour or so later, unacceptable. Doctors care orders do not seem to be followed, staff unsure of what care is needed, do they not review charts? Expressed concerns to NP, didn't seem as concerned to correct as thought she would be. Room dirty, dirty bath water, wet washcloths lying on the floor, full garbage cans, food trays not being picked up. Halls and rooms smelled, equipment (some non-operable) and clutter throughout the hallways. Some staff decided to walk out on their shift leaving 1 person to watch/run the floor for and entire shift. Night shift disappears, no one checks on patients/residents, room calls again not answered. I called the main phone line around 6pm and no one answers?? Safety and health issues are many.

The rooms are small and have a smell. The staff did not seem to be very knowledgeable on how to prepare cares on my friend my friend. It also took a long time for some to respond to the light after I press the button for help. I even saw a bag of garbage by the backdoor that had used diapers in it. I did not see any amenities in the room. Not did the room look like the pictures on the website. The food did not look appealing and it appeared to be undercooKed.

My brother is at Allis Care Center. It's terrible. I don't know if this is because of lack of help because his roommate LBM'd on himself and it took them hours to come and clean him. It's really bad. When he first got there, he was downstairs, and it was better for him. He said, "I want to go back downstairs but they can't move me." They won't move him back downstairs, and he's very depressed right now. He has been there for a year now. They don't have enough staff for their patients, and they act like they don't care. They are on their phone, and they're not attending to the patients as they should. You have to wait for two hours for somebody to answer your call. That's horrible. When my brother takes a shower, he said there are so many dirty clothes in that bathroom where he takes a shower, and he said it's so unsanitary. He is wheelchair-bound, and he was doing physical therapy when he first got there. Now, they just lay in bed and watch TV. If they know he is having some visitors, then they put his clothes on him. If they don't think he is going to have any visitors, and somebody shows up, it might be 2:00 that I might get there, then they start to put clothes on him. I haven't tried the food. But when I go out there or my cousin goes out there, we will get him something like Sunday dinner, and we'll take him something, but for the last two weeks, we haven't been able to go out there because COVID is bad out there. The facility is old, and it needs a lot of work. When we first were able to visit him, it was during COVID, and they wouldn't let you go to his room. They had a waiting area that you had to make an appointment and theyre going to give you 30 minutes a day to sit with him out in the waiting area. Now you can go to his room, and now he is sharing a room. It is small. When they wash his clothes, they don't fold them, they don't hang them, they just throw them in a closet, and so we go out there, we pick them up and we hang them up. They're short-staffed and what they do have is a lot of young folks that just don't care, and they just want a paycheck.

The room is not what is pictured in the add. So, false info. I only had 2 staff members that I could truly speak with. They were terrible at returning most of my phone calls. And my friend that "WAS" staying there is now in hospice care and dying due to the terrible bed sore and infection that she acquired while there. My friend was non-verbal so she could not say what was wrong. But within a month of being there, she was able to say Ow, It hurts. Wish she could have told me where it hurts. I would NEVER recommend this facility to my worst enemy!

First of all the pictures on this site must be 100 years old this place is dirty and rundown. Scary to even walk the halls at night but anyways If i could rate 0 I would, the staff are not welcoming rude and impatient. The management sucks at communication and the place seems very unorganized. I bought my dad 11 brand new tshirts I threw away the old ones with holes and stains i was told they would be labeled and brought to his room. Next visit the clothes were missing I spoke to multiple staff and even called left voicemails i was told I would receive a call back. The situation was never addressed I can’t afford to buy more clothes so my dad has probably 3 shirts as of right now. its very sad and disappointing

My 81 yrs. old Mom, non-English speaking, was transferred from hospital to Allis Care Center for rehab after falling at home due to pneumonia. I have spent 4 days helping her and doing Allis Care Center staff job, thus our experience with staff and generally this facility is HORRIBLE!!!!! Here is why: 1. Blood thinner was not transferred from Freudtert to Allis Care Center Medical Sheet and was not given to Mom until I inquired about missing medication. 2. Friday evening (1/16/2015) upon admission, a walker with broken brakes was provided to Mom by staff by name Shanika (I believe, hope they can check her name and schedule). The same night I left my cell phone number and post it not on TV with my cell phone for staff to call me if Mom or they had questions. Apparently, I found out next morning from Mom, she pressed alarm /call button for nurse for help to go to bathroom. No one showed up whole night! I took her to bathroom and washed her at 7:00am. She said that she couldn't use walker as it was different. 3. On Monday morning physical therapy staff was terrified about unsafe walker, and took it away expressing a highest concern regarding Mom’s safety. Monday morning PT staff noticed that breakfast was not delivered, which was second day in a roll, according to my observations. Staff that I asked for breakfast responded with attitude that I should have asked someone else as she was busy. 3. Attending doctor, as per nurse that was helping on Mom's floor, made a mistake prescribing medication for cough, so pharmacy held it because of interactions with blood thinner. All time spent there, including at discharge as well, Mom was not seen by doctor, not to mention that no one even cared to check her lung. Results of x-rays, results of blood sugar level, blood pressure level or temperature were not communicating either to Mom or to me as her POA. Thus her health was worse and she decided to leave. Discharge paperwork was mailed to my home address, as social worker was concerned that I could pursue a law suit. 4. Upon request for discharge admission staff and social worker of Allis Care Center apologized to us stating they were not aware of issues. Interestingly enough, wouldn’t you think just from entering building and smelling urine that staff is not doing what they are paid for? Wouldn't the first impression of nurses and supporting staff on personal cell phones be indication about lack of management? 5. Lastly, for all case managers, especially Nicole from Freudtert, previously bad comments about this place are current. From my perspective as a daughter, a care giver and being case manager for the last 15 years, Allis Care Center needs to be closed out due to lack of safety, unsanitary conditions, non-responsive staff and neglect of patients.

West Allis Care Center had been one of the best nursing homes in the city several years ago. I recently had a friend there following a broken hip. When I visited the entrance was cold and uninviting. The noise level on the nursing unit was high with residents calling out and the staff calling back and forth to each other. My friend required oxygen. The home did not have piped in oxygen but administered it with a compressor unit hooked to the back of her wheel chair. It was LOUD. She said it was like that all night also and made it hard to sleep. While I was there she asked an LPN to go to the bathroom. The LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) said she would get her aide to take her. 20 minutes passed and no aide showed up by this time my friend had an accident. There was no reason why the LPN could not have taken her .she learned how to do that in her training. At meal time they asked my friend if she was going to eat. My friend said no and they left it at that instead of just coaxing her and taking her to the dining room. I took her there and she did eat about half. My friend was there 3 days before physical therapy was started and that was the main reason she was there. I would not recommend this nursing home to anyone.
