Mom has been at Edenbrook Platteville for about three to four months now. It is nice and clean. The staff all seem to be friendly and helpful. We've been happy with them so far. I know they have church masses, puzzles, bingo, and arts and crafts. They bring the residents out to the open grounds to get some sun. Mom likes the food that they serve.

If I had a problem there was always someone close and able to help. The therapists did a great job. The building is clean and linens were taken care of everyday. The food was excellent. Overall it was a good decision to come here.

If you have a loved one going into Manor Care make sure they can hold it because sometimes it takes 20 to 25 min for someone to get to them to go to the bathroom. Unless of course you have status in Platteville then you have 3 or 4 people around you at all time doing your nails , playing ball or taking you for a walk. When my Father first got there it was not so bad but he went in able to walk with his walker to in a wheel chair with depends on. He fell 4 times because when no one came to help him to go to the bathroom he tried to get up and go himself. Some of nurses are good but other like to stand around and talk or be with the special status residence. They know no one will find out because half the residence can't talk so no one will tell on them. As for therapy they said my father would not go my Mother was there almost everyday and only saw them come one time to get him. When I ask when his therapy time was so I could come and help to get him to go no one would tell me. when I ask the Doctor when he came so my Mom and I could talk to him I could not get a time for that either. Its like they take them there and forget about them. He is at peace now but I just wonder if I could have gotten him moved sooner if his last days could have been better. A very sad Daughter

My mother was in Manor Care for 30 days. It was newer, nicer, bigger, and for rehab. She said the food was good. They were supposed to be giving her therapy, but nobody was very specific about how much and when. I didn’t find help in the staff. They had a huge room where they did activities, but she was always in her room and ate there.

We had an appointment for a tour. The administrator came after 10 minutes of waiting. He didn't care if we were there or not. We saw no one talking with the patients while we were there, it was like they were there to die. The alarm even went off and n-one moved. We would not be interested in this place if it were free!

This is a skilled nursing facility that also does a lot of rehab, and they have a great rehab team. But they've also had some staff turnover. Their long-time administrator left about a year and a half ago, and that's been hard on them and their reputation. They also have a new social worker. Their recent state survey results found 19 deficiencies, compared to a state average of 8. The building is very nice--modern, with straight lines--and has a good layout. It's big, with 99 beds. But it's divided in half, with open community areas in the middle that are conducive to family visits--and that's makes each half seem smaller and more friendly. The rooms are small and a bit dark, though. It's located about 50 minutes southwest of Madison and about 30 minutes from Dubuque, Iowa. It's just on the edge of town in Platteville. Food is only fair. It's a bit institutional. But the activities program offers a nice variety for different levels of care. Other pluses: - They have what they call Big Boy beds for larger patients. - They take in patients with complex needs. They offer IV therapy, bariatric surgery recovery, and care for other less common needs.
