The reason we chose The Meeting House, is because it's central to my mother's children. Another reason is because it's clean. It's not super updated, but it is modern enough. My mother's overall experience is that initially she was a little afraid because she'd never lived on her own, but she's happy with her place. She likes it. She's already met her neighbors and friends and learned that it is really a community where they look out for one another. She has a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. So, it's big enough that she can continue her independent life while she's in a safer community with people her age. She has her own kitchen and her own living room. It came with a refrigerator, washer, dryer, and dishwasher. So, she prepares her own meals. The intake people were very informative, knowledgeable, and helpful. They're a bigger community. They have less than 100 apartments, but maintenance is a little slow. They also don't have central air, but they have air conditioning in the units and they work really well. They have a fitness center and their own little outdoor space.

We chose The Meeting House for my mom and dad because it has all of the accommodations that they need and is in a nice, quiet, reserved place. They have social hours at least once or twice a week and outings, plus a lot of things that they can do. The staff is cordial and professional. They have a beauty shop, exercise room, computer lab, and vending machine area.

I visited The Meeting House. I liked the way it was set up. It had a balcony. Basically, you cook your own food. I just met one person, and she was nice. If there's one thing they needed to improve on, it would be a dining area to cook food for some who were not able to.

I live at the Meetinghouse Senior Apartments, and this is an independent living facility. They don’t offer any meal services. The only thing the management offers is coffee and tea on a Friday morning and donuts. We play games and bingo and things like that, but like I said it’s all we have. You have to be in the transport club, otherwise there is no transportation, and you have to be on your own for that. They have an exercise room and a chapel. They also have a community room and an activity room. Pets are allowed, but they have to be under a certain size. Each unit has its own washer and dryer.
