My sister moved into Wildwood Highlands. She likes the apartment building, but it doesn't have many amenities, like food. Her apartment is nice and big with a big window. It's on the first floor, and she likes the little patio. They have some activities and a library, a beauty shop, a get-together room, and a sun room. It seemed pretty nice, and I'm so happy that my sister likes it.

Yesterday afternoon, I toured Wildwood Highlands. It's independent living but not like the other one. They don't do meals and their heat and electricity are separate. They pay for the water, cable, internet, and things like that. It was okay. It was a nice facility. I like the other place better than Wildwood Highlands, but I'm still considering it. It's seven separate buildings with multiple units in the building. And if you wanted to go to any of the activities or stuff, you would have to go outside and go to the main building. But I was very impressed with the manager. He was fine. They have a game room, a library, and a social gathering place. The staff said once a week they have entertainment in the main ballroom, and they have occasional activities.

If you like to drink and party all the time you’ll love it. If you aren’t a part of all the parties you are shunned and talked about. At least my building was. Lots of loudness, drinking and let their dogs run free in halls. Rules don’t apply to the ambassadors. A handful run the building and if you don’t fit in they make your life hard. If you say anything you’re told to join in or shut up.

I couldn't find anything that I did not like about Wildwood Highlands or any of the Highlands communities that I visited. This community had some duplex homes, but it had primarily a three-story apartment building. I only saw the apartments, and I believe they are appropriately sized for the price. It was also near the medical center in Menomonee Falls, almost within walking distance. Every building had a building coordinator for anybody who wanted to do activities, like playing cards, getting together for potluck meals, and so on.

Wildwood Highlands was well run and clean. We liked the apartments and the location. It had everything we needed, and the price was reasonable. Everything was appealing to us. The apartment was nicely well laid out with a deck or a patio.

We are in the process of getting ready to move at Wildwood Highlands. It is more conducive to our needs than where we are now. Location is convenient like shopping. The staff was very friendly. In fact after the interview and signing, we sat and talked for at least 45 minutes after the process. My husband is a paraplegic, the rooms accommodate him better, and he will actually be able to get in and out of the bathroom. They have a meeting area for the residents to get together. They do media stuff and play cards, they pretty much do some kind of recognition on holidays for the residents, and there are overnight trips.

We visited and put a down payment on Wildwood Highlands. It is a much larger facility than the ones we looked at. Most places do not accept pets and the prime reason we decided on Wildwood Highlands was because they allow pets. Also they have a patio that you can go and let your pet out without going through their main lobby. I also like the location in Menomonee Falls. The facility in general seems very home-like. Me and my husband are just waiting for a unit to become open for us. We have been in their waiting list probably for a month now.
