The Arbors at Oak Park Place is a very nice facility. They have a lot of activities, and the people in charge are very responsive to everybody's needs. They have a variety of rooms, and my mother is in a two-bedroom apartment. She can go down for Continental breakfast, lunch is on their own, and supper is provided in the dining room. They have a schedule of events. They're having a dog show this week, they have a lot of singers and choirs come in, and they have movie nights, crafts, and a puzzle room. The staff is very nice, and the sales and marketing director is extremely nice. She was always checking in on Mom before we were able to move in because she was on a waiting list. The property manager is very nice, helpful, and responsive. The food I had was very good.

Oak Park Place (The Arbors) was the nicest that we saw in terms of size and quality. We were impressed. The salesperson was very friendly and helpful, and the rest of the staff was helpful. We thought it was a good place, but it's a little bit far away. The apartments had granite countertops and cherry wood cabinets, and the size and the layout were excellent.

We are living in The Arbors, and the food is not up to my standards. It is very nice, but the problem is that if one of us needs assisted living, we have to leave the independent living apartment and go to an assisted living apartment. People are nice, and it is well-maintained. The apartments are nice, and they have really nice storage; they have extra storage rooms.

The Arbors is part of a larger community that also includes assisted living. The facility is pretty new, lovely, and very nice. There’s a larger apartment sized about 800 sq. ft. with more storage. They have everything there, like speakers who come in, which is of interest to me. They go to different events and shopping, do exercises, and play cards. The staff is wonderful. She calls me every couple of weeks to let me know if there is a change. Everything is very clean and looks brand new.

My father is in rehab right now at Oak Park Place. The social worker up at UW told me about it. The staff is very helpful. The food is good. They have bingo, ice cream socials, and different singing groups come in. I feel like he is getting very good quality care. He seems quite happy there, and to me that's important. I'm very pleased with it. They worked with my dad before, and they're working with him now.

Oak Park Place is a place for retired people who are living independently. It's a wonderful community. Their cooking is great and their hospitality is wonderful. The apartments are beautiful. They have underground parking for the cars. I can't see a thing wrong with it. It’s just a beautiful place to be.

Oak Park Place was the facility that my wife and her sister would have liked their parents to move into. It was very clean and relatively new. The residents had a lot of good things to choose from. They had various programs that can help to a certain extent if they needed medication or something like that. The receptionist who took us through was very helpful and very knowledgeable. They cleaned the room and did the laundry weekly. They also had kitchens in their units.

Arbors has been great. The staff is very friendly. The building is beautiful and the food is good. I participated to their activities like crafting, discussion groups, movies and trips. They also have this food-centered little parties and stuff. The big thing here is they have excursions out in the building and they provide transportation and everything. What I really like is that they don't charge extra for every little thing they provide. A lot of places in town charge for things like getting a ride to the doctor.

My brother was in Oak Park Place Madison for a rehab. I wasn't really impressed with that area. I didn't like their food. My brother also didn't care for the food. I also don't think there was enough staffing for the amount of patients especially during the weekend.

The personal care that my mother is receiving is wonderful. I know that she is safe and that professional care is being administered. The only issue I have with this facility, is the lack of a staff directory for residents and families. When ever an concern arises, we have to call a switchboard and then HOPE that we are directed to the individual who may assist. There are NO direct lines or numbers given for any of the nurses stations, finances, activity directors etc. I understand filtering, but I do not understand the why employees should be so cloistered and difficult to reach.

Oak Park Place is a beautiful facility offering independent living apartments, Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing. My Dad was in the Memory Care. He was in the early stages of dementia at the time and they did offer activities which he sometimes participated in, but the staff made very little effort to invite or encourage residents to join in. So if he wasn't awake and aware of the event on his own, he would miss out. The food was marginal (it never smelled very good) and the staff turnover was very high. There were frequently new aides and even the activity director and nurse positions turned over several times each during the year my dad was there. The facility was clean and bright and pleasant, but the rooms were a long way from the dining room and activity area, so as my Dad started to use a walker, he had a long way to go to get to these common areas, and he started staying alone in his room more and more. There were 32 residents, so no one seemed to care what he did. On the positive side, they did offer little field trips for residents able to attend and my Dad loved that. They also had programs and seminars that families were invited to attend. He eventually moved to be in a smaller facility which was easier for him to navigate and which seemed to have better staff retention so it was easier for him, seeing the same people over and over.
