My brother-in-law was a resident of Heritage Square Health Care Center. That's a good one because he was very hard to please and hard to get along with. They did good, but he wasn't always happy, but that was partly due to the problems he was having. He liked it better there than in the hospital. He could be great one day, and then a little challenging the next. But under the circumstances, I'm sure they understood them. It's clean and nice. The people were very friendly and accommodating. He liked the food.

The absolute worst place! Under staffed and they actually dropped my mom during a transfer, she had a triple bypass surgery and when this happened due to negligence no gait belt but it also was a big guy think he could have strength to hold on to her 140 pound frail body a wheel chair to bed??? Also they never tested her she had been sick with a cough and after they dropped her she went to the hospital they tested her she had covid. while she was in hospital we got a call they packed all her stuff up in her room without even telling us we would have packed her belongings said they were all up front at the desk. Well she was missing things one big thing was her walker with a seat, it was new from Katy's closet the lost it??? We have never gotten the incident report nor her walker! Food was terrible, They didn't come for a long time when call button was pressed. hard when you cant go to the bathroom when asked. She would call me at work I would have to call the front desk for them to go to her!!

The physical therapy staff was good. There were a few staff members who cared who got to know my dad and helped him with eating and were gentle with him when moving him. They would talk to him about his life, help him change channels on the TV to get to what he wanted, and help him eat when he was struggling to use his hands. However, most of the staff was indifferent. They would dump his food tray on his table and leave. Sometimes they would even forget to give him a meal. They were rough with him when he was being moved to a wheelchair or bed. He would wait hours for someone to come after pressing the help button. He fell when getting out of bed in the middle of the night a few times. One of the nurses asked that he be moved closer to the nurse's station and watched closely during the night, but it took him falling out of bed 3 times before they moved him. At one point he had the same clothes on for at least 3 days. He said that the staff said they couldn't find his clothes. I had to go to the administrator to find out what was going on. She finally found out that because they moved his room down the hallway they couldn't figure out where to put his clothes. There were times I would go to visit and there would be dirty sheets and bed pads on the floor next to the bed. The social worker promised to get my dad's Healthcare Power of Attorney(HPOA) activated. It took 2 months to get it activated and we never found out it was activated until a month after it was activated because he never returned any of our calls. The Business Manager was even worse. He had my dad sign paperwork about his health even though the HPOA had been activated. This paperwork also had financial repercussions that my dad could not understand. He too would not respond to emails or phone calls. However, on the day we moved my dad out while I was complaining that a bunch of his clothes were missing again, he made sure to tell me had the bill and was wondering if he should give it to me or my dad who had an active HPOA. If you are an ABLE BODIED person of sound mind who can order their own food to be delivered you will do fine there. However, if you are there because you aren't quite ready to go home because you need help with walking, toileting, and dressing then STAY AWAY.
