My dad was a former resident of Care Age of Brookfield. The people there were amazing. They were totally in tune with his needs and took it above and beyond. They wouldn't let him get away with anything. You got somebody who's 89 years old and he just doesn't want to move. They were good at what they did. They truly mastered getting him up and moving and transferring himself. We would set demands because we needed him at the other location for my mom, and it took an entire week before he learned how to transfer himself and get up and move. And for somebody who's aging and his injury, it was good.

The residents always look like they are having a great time. Very great rehab department that goes that extra mile to take care of their patients. Always something going on in activities from games, movies, bingo and weekly entertainment. I recommend the place.

Your loved one will wait and wait and wait to get help with anything! I saw 6 workers sitting at one desk, and 4 others arguing at another desk. My dad called 3 times for help to use the bathroom. I've been sitting here with him for an hour and 20 minutes. He is STILL waiting. I spoke with a resident who says she waits for hours until she just goes in her pants. He also couldn't get water to drink. Please watch out for your loved one if you even take them there.

Rehab not helpful for my Mom's broken ankle. My Mom was a difficult patient and the staff elected to avoid her.

Mom was initially admitted for rehab in May. Therapists worked with her gently appropriate to her capabilities. Kept us informed of her progress and offered suggestions. Unrelated to the facility her health declined and was then admitted into Hospice. During her entire stay all staff took excellent care of mom and were extremely caring to us the family. Answered all our questions and sought us out with updates when we came onto the floor. Food was good and she was able to get substitutes for things she did not like. Social Worker helped us navigate through the changes with mom and gave us recommendations of next steps. The facility itself is not new and shiny, could use some updating, but hallways were wide and place was kept clean. Her care received was given by wonderful staff not by brick and mortar. I can't say enough for the facility and staff.

I wanted to give a 3 1/2 star general rating, but it doesn't let you. If I could rate different departments then physical and occupational therapy would receive 5 stars. Most of the RNs and CNAs were very nice and caring. So I would rate them as 4 stars (as there were a couple who could have been more personable). But there were a couple who were 5+ stars. They were so busy some days - especially mornings and could have used extra people. I read the other reviews and some things were true, but not as bad as some that were written. As far as the cleaning went I just asked when I saw someone to vacuum or change my sheets and they did. I have to say the food was generally not good. They changed food companies after I was there a couple of weeks, and the new company was terrible. I was there almost 8 weeks so I had plenty of meals to sample. I think if you treat people with kindness that is what you get back. That was true for me both ways.

I was at this facility for one week and this is my review. The room I was in was extremely small and difficult to get around in a wheel chair. There were ants in the bathroom, the bathroom was never cleaned, sheets were never changed, room never vacuumed, the reclined seat was spotted with something (I would not use it), there were large holes in the walls where something previously had hung. The staff and PT were very good and very nice to work with. If needed, I WOULD NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!!!
please look elsewhere

As a Social Worker in a nursing home up north I had to find a nursing home for my mom in Brookfield. We choses rehab at Care Age in Brookfield, and it was horrible!!! Staff walked right by her room when her call light was on for over an hour. She was left on the bed pan for over four hours, on the toilet (with a broken hip) for over an hour. She received one shower in 5 weeks. I visited her on weekends and complained several times, no one cared and nothing got better. The aides are mean and non caring. Do not send your loved one there please. Therapy was good, but thats only about an hour a day, the other 23 hours you are on your own. Shame on Care age for letting the aides treat our loved ones so horrible.

Today I visited a member of our church who is doing "rehab" at Care Age. I found the staff harried and surly. The patient I was visiting need her Depends changed. Forty minutes later, even after I asked her nurse to send an aide to help, no one came to do it. I realize that places like this are understaffed and that the staff is poorly paid, but not even having a staff member acknowledge a basic physical need is unconscionable. I'd sooner die than be a resident at Care Age.

Care-Age of Brookfield was very good. The meals were always well done, and the people were always nice. Everybody raved about the activities.

I had visited member from church who was at Care Age. I thought the staff were helpful. It was actually early evening, but they showed me around a little bit and told me who the person I should call during the day. The rooms looked fine. It looked like a nursing home as far as I could see. I saw a room where people were playing games or interacting with each other or with somebody in the staff.

Care Age was a big place. They have everything like they are attuned to helping people from one stage of life to the other. I have a friend whose husband was there, and she said it was always kind of sad, but that is how you kind of feel when you go to these places and visit, I guess. It seemed more of a hospital type of place. When I went, they had this big courtyard, and they were having like a western themed party so they were decorating it, so they have activities and things to do.
