Some of the rooms are huge while some are the usual size. Not many private rooms. Staff were extremely friendly while my friend was there. Food was pretty good or at least it looked it. Multiple dining rooms and activities seemed to take them on a lot of community trips. Therapy did a great job. Hopefully I never need a nursing home but if I do I think Eagle Pointe is pretty good.

I visit Eagle Pointe often and find the staff and environment very friendly. They seem to have a very good number of staff working with the residents. The food that I have experienced is very good but I do not eat it every day. I have heard that they are working on some renovations which is needed but the building seems clean. The Director of Nursing is very knowledgeable and they have added Nurse Practitioners every day of the week. I saw that their Star Rating is a 4 overall which speaks to the strides they have made. No Nursing Home is perfect but I believe this one is doing a very nice job.

My mother was admitted to Eagle Pointe for physical rehabilitation for strengthening her legs and I have to say it was the most horrifying experience for her and my family. After being there for almost 24 hours: only a portion of medication was given, broken wheel chair, refused to give her television access, food was repulsive, and when the call button was pushed there was no response at all. The medication being dispensed is not computerized and there seems to be confusion on what medication was given. Between 2AM-4AM a patient came into my mother’s room numerous time pulling her blankets off and yelling at her. The call button was pressed, no response for 2 hours, and then was told it was just Roma, she runs the hall at night because she gets angry when they put her in bed. Having medical power of attorney I ask to see her medication records and her discharge paper from the hospital. I was informed that was none of my business and they would not give it to me. I then ask to see a social worker. I once again was denied. My family and I were able to contact a facility we knew would take proper care of my mother but Eagles Pointe refused to fax or email the required paperwork. I informed the nurse that we would be taking my mother out of the facility and wanted the appropriate paperwork. The RN on duty was asking how to fill out the paperwork. I was informed that I was agreeing to remove my mother from care with no medication and they were not going to tell me the medication she was on.

My mother goes hungry everyday in this facility. The food is terrible. I have even witnessed half cooked/raw spaghetti stuck together on a plate. I hate to think of all those WV women who were excellent cooks eating this garbage. They are under staffed so your loved one receives no attention. Left for extremely long periods of time in the bathroom. Medications are hap hazard as well. Given the wrong med, or no med. Not properly supported - so falling is always an occurrence. I would not under any circumstance recommend going to this facility. I had no choice - if you can place your loved one in another location - please do. The smell, sounds, and neglect our horrid.

Very bad experience. First of all, this place is run down and there are no phones in the rooms. Second, no one seems to know what's going on from staff on up about patients. Every time we had a question about our loved one they had to ask several people to see who knew the answers and then sometimes said they'd call us back but never would. They would call us at 9pm about a medication order change and scare us that something was wrong but finding out which doctor they took our loved one to that day and what they said was next to impossible to find out. They called several times about how they were going to pay once insurance/Medicare ran out but offered absolutely no help with discharge planning. Worst of all we found our loved one unresponsive when we visited (they were fine when we were there two days before and only there for therapy) and said she'd been like that all day. What?!? We had to ask them to call 911. Do not resuscitate to them means just let die even if not having a heart attack apparently. After being treated in the hospital for malnutrition, dehydration, and an infection we moved her to another facility where she is thriving.
