My father is in Stonerise Berkeley Springs. We chose it because of availability. The medical staff is fantastic, but there was confusion on financials and that kind of thing among the administrative staff. It's a little older facility. It's kind of near a hospital in downtown Berkeley Springs. His room is small. They could improve their knowledge of financials with Medicaid. They just need to better understand those with their clients.

My mom is currently at Stonerise Berkeley Springs. The facility is clean. The place is dated, but the care is good. Although I must say, my mother's not quite a good fit for it because there's a big language barrier and there's very little that they can do to translate. They're doing their best, but they don't have the facilities to help my mother because she's got dementia, so they're not a memory care facility. The people that are there are bed-ridden. Overall, I would recommend it for anybody who is really at the end stages of their life. They will get good care. The food is good. The people are very kind and caring. We are working on getting her a private room that they offer and see how that works out. My mother said the food was good. She has no complaints. They do have activities. They offered bingo, arts, and crafts. They were baking cookies the other day, but because of the language barrier, my mother doesn't participate in any of this.

We opted for Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing because it was rated as one of the best in the area. The staff were very caring. I believed she got the attention that she needed.
