Ciel of Spokane was a very nice place. They had all kinds of things for elderly people to do. They have places where they could have parties or family get-togethers. The rooms were very nice. I was very impressed, but it was just too much for my husband to be able to use. He is bedridden and he won't be able to use all these things. The staff I met was very nice and very well organized. He kept calling me until I was able to get in there to visit them. But it didn't work out because it was not the right place for my husband.

I toured Ciel of Spokane. It's very, very nice. It was very welcoming. It had a warm feeling to it. It was a new building, and it had a very good tone to it. The staff who toured me was wonderful. I had a huge list of questions, and she answered every one of them. In terms of activities, they offer exercise opportunities during the daytime and offer arts and crafts. They have a regular schedule of all the events that they'll have for each month in terms of arts and crafts and people coming in to play music and that type of thing. They have a wide variety of different options.

I did a tour of Columbia Landing of Spokane. I like that they offer either shared rooms or private rooms. The day we were there, they were having the residents participate in games in the main room, which I thought was neat. There's a separate unit for the different types of care that they give. There's a memory care unit, and on the other side of the building is for just assisted care and short-term thing. I thought that was good. They seem attentive to the residents there. It was very clean and just nice. So, I was impressed. It's all fenced in nicely. The outdoor area seemed secure. They can't get out. The staff were always around helping people. They had a great room with a fireplace, and anyone could go there at any time because there was always some kind of food available there. I was just very impressed. Food was available, but at the time it was in the midst of winter, and I wanted to get home before dark. We live an hour and 15 minutes away. The residents have a choice of ordering off a menu. They did offer to share a meal, but at that time we weren't interested. They offer three meals a day, with snacks laid out all the time. The facility was really clean; it smelled clean and looked clean.
