Richmond Beach Rehab facility was just what I needed in order to heal from a broken right hip and survive all the difficulties that were a part of my recovery. It was a random choice made from a list provided by the social worker when I needed to transfer from the hospital. Sometimes there was a waiting time after I pressed my red button for help, and yes, sometimes there did not seem to be enough employees to handle the workload, but I found those who helped me to be dedicated to their work and truly concerned about my well fare. Their work often concerned helping with the very personal needs of commode use and trying to answer every call for help. I asked one helper why he did this job, and he replied, "It's what I signed up for." Only dedicated people should bother to apply for this kind of work. My needs were met every day, and the physical and occupational therapists were skilled and helpful. They challenged me every day to accomplish a more difficult task so I would be ready to go home. Each time I succeeded, I felt like I should put a "gold star" on my chart. I was assigned to a private room. The food was excellent, and we were allowed to list our food preferences. Activities were planned for each day, and I was able to attend three church services in the activities center and two musical concerts by guitarists who sang and played. After 24 days I was able to go home and had learned the skills necessary to navigate around my condo with a walker. I would highly recommend this rehab facility.

I would not send my family member or loved one to this facility unless you are prepared to lose b them within months. We put my Father there when Crista closed and it was the biggest mistake of our lives. He was only there CB for a little over three months and lost over 30 pounds. Nobody from the nursing home alerted us to this until we visited n him thru the door and saw him totally emaciated. Due to Covid we have not been able to visit indoors only thru a fire door. The people there never answer the phone and never call you back. They kept telling us they were short handed. The social worker Nancy never returned any of my e mails. My Dads personal hygiene was totally neglected. The lied to us and told us he had a couple superficial pressure sores on his back side but when he ended n up in the ER the Doctors told us he had three deep black wound all the way to the bone. Just this week my Father was sent to the ER in the middle of the night with sever dehydration and horrible pneumonia. We had been trying to tell the nursing home for two weeks he was sick and we could tell by talking with him on the phone our concerns were totally ignored. He is now close to death on hospice. The palliative care Doctor here even confirmed our concerns and said that when he calls Richmond Beach Rehab nobody answers the phone and that the majority of Covid patients in our area have come from this facility. Also my dads room mate got up in the middle of the night filled a spray bottle with water and sprayed my Dad in the face while he was sleeping. If you want your love one to have good care and people who shall treat them with respect do NOT consider this place, you shall be sending them there to die!!!!

Very bad place to take your loved ones to reside. They are understaffed and do not give the care they need to. I whould think twice before choosing this place .

Richmond Beach was very clean and laid out nicely, and the appearance was very good. Dad stayed for rehabilitation. The people that are working there were very nice, but you can tell that they’re too busy as they are understaffed. A couple of years ago, it was really good, but now it is understaffed. They had the gym doing exercises, they had barbecue, they have special days where they had ice cream and music. When I am visiting dad -- usually it was dinner time -- the dining area was fine; it was like a cafeteria. My dad is on the esophagus number 2 diet, and he always finished his plate.

My father was in this facility for 2 weeks recovering from pneumonia. The facility is lovely and was conveniently located but I wouldn't have my father there again. Though the facility knew when we were arriving, we waited at least a half an hour to be admitted being told staffing was down on weekends. Getting a wheelchair for him took effort and when I arrived the next morning to find it had been removed, I had to go through the process again. The staff was friendly but response times to call lights could take 5 minutes or more. On many occasions, I ended up going out to find a nurse. Dad's roommate had much higher needs which included wound care and his not being attended to in a timely manner distressed my dad. The morning he called to ask for my assistance in getting help for his roommate who I could hear screaming out in pain in the background, I decided to take him out of there and bring him home. In talking with the roommate's family, I can tell you they weren't happy with the care and ended up moving him.

Richmond Beach is a really nice place. It's a perfect nursing home. It's beautiful and they have everything. That's where I would probably put my mother if she did want to go there.
