If I could give this place a - 5 stars I would. My grandfather was admitted there last Wed. Everything seemed really impressive, until Friday afternoon. He started acting aggressive, confused, completely opposite of himself even 6 hrs earlier. I noticed he was very thirsty and gave him alot of water. Saturday his friend let's me know that was the worst he had ever seen him. We go to check a few hours later only to walk down the hall and hear a person choking in a tipped back wheelchair left unattended in the hall. We rush to help the person and find that it is my grandfather! We sit him up, still no help ANYWHERE, get him to stop choking. He is unable to talk because his mouth & tongue are SEVERLY DRY! He guzzles my water bottle and starts to aspirate. The Nurse and CNA didn't seem to think there was anything wrong, because he was trying to get out of bed they were "watching him in the wheelchair in the hall". The nurse was more concerned about me signing his "discharge paper" then in calling an ambulance or assisting. I refused to sign because in reading the form you are "releasing Park Ridge from any liabilty". The nurse was more worried about that paper and the wheelchair I took him out to my car in not being returned then the health of my ailing grandfather. I took him immediately to Swedish-Edmonds ER. He was so DEHYDRATED that even doing a catheter for a urine test showed he had NO URINE IN HIS BLADDER. They put him on IV fluids, ran a ton of tests and discussed his medicine with me and we find out they stopped medicine he must take and started him on benzos. Also, find out he has a Kidney/Urinary Tract infection. Today is Tuesday and he is still recovering here at Swedish. Whatever you do please do not use this facility for your loved ones! They almost killed my grandfather in 2 1/2 days!

Park Ridge Care Center is large. The therapy staff is quite large, too, and I have been very impressed with them. They’re always open to any suggestions or questions. As far as the nursing staff is concerned, there’s one LPN and the rest of the staff is made up of CNAs, the highest credentials of their staff. Most of them spoke English as their second language.

This facility has continually shown to be a caring and compassionate place for my loved ones. I really appreciate the staff's commitment to giving the residences a meaningful time there, and caring for them, no matter their condition. The facility is not the fanciest, or the newest for that matter, but I always love to see my grandmother smile there. She was frightened for her entire adult life of nursing facilities, and this place is the only one that I have found to give here the care and love she deserves to have. The managers have befriended our family, and we really love that she has been so well cared for there. The only complaints I have are of one staff member, who is somewhat unfriendly to our family, but she has been reprimanded, and we are glad to be able to have such a great place as part of the community.
