I have my wife in Columbia Landing of Issaquah. They've been very good as far as letting me know what's going on with her and keeping in contact with me. So far, I'm quite happy with them. The rooms are very nice. The entire facility is quite nice. The staff is friendly and informative. They seem to be quite patient and deal well with the residents. My wife has a shared room with another person. It's well furnished and maintained nicely. There are windows in it, and it's quite homey, nice, and clean. The dining area has a pleasant atmosphere. It's well furnished and kept well. They have a complete schedule of activities from 8:00 in the morning until night. There's a movie theater. There are hands-on activities and one-on-ones with people that keep them engaged in games, there are manual dexterity exercises, and they take them on scenic tours.

My dad moved into Columbia Landing of Issaquah. We chose it for the office girls, Sarah and Beth, and the facility was the right fit for my dad. They have all kinds of things going on there. They have music and singalongs, and they have the theater, and exercise daily. They have the garden, walks, and exercise up there and it's just great. I like the people there. I've seen what they're eating, and I've smelled it, it looks delicious. I would have no problem with their food.

If you visit in the evening, you will see what really goes on. Staff are almost all on their personal phone or in a group talking. They are annoyed if you ask them questions, then claim that you 'yelled' at them. It starts at the top and goes all the way down. Most are Don't be fooled by the cute trappings like the 'main street'. The residents rarely get to go there, it's only to look good for people visiting. Chose a place with real heart, not the fake version they have there.

After numerous weekly visits beginning in 2019 (prior to the current visit restrictions) with a neighbor who's family chose this community for their Mother, I realized how important the words "quality of life" are to each person afflicted with the disease of dementia and how important the quality of caregiving is to that individual. I was humbled to see the dedication, compassion and true spirit of loving ones role in each caregiver I witnessed providing the daily care needs for not only my friend, but for each and every one of her neighbors within this wonderful community. If you ever need a safe harbor for a loved one with dementia that you can no longer care for at home, I whole heartedly endorse Fieldstone of Issaquah.
