They treat me really nice here. In my case I’m pretty stable but they help me make my bed and are helping me look for a home. They help me with my diabetic diet that I don’t know how to manage on my own. Nurses do their job well Jeri is the best and she does her job without asking, she is so nice to the patients. The rooms are big, I have my own tv and closet.

I love this place. The nurses and staff have taken great care of me. Everyone is so kind. Plus the food is very tasty. Had cheesy ravioli with meat sauce last night. So good. I love my room. It's always clean. Victoria is a sweet girl. Also Sabrina and Peyton. You will love this place.

I stayed at Avalon Care Center for about a year or two, and I liked it there. I had a good experience there. It was nice. I was with another lady that was in the room who was kind of goofy. Cleanliness and maintenance were good. The food was OK, nothing special. The staff was pretty cool, and I liked them, but I didn't like the residents because they were a little goofy.

I was recently a patient at the Avalon Care Center. This is not a place that you want to be in or leave your loved one in. The staff with a few exceptions, have little interest in caring for their patients. The call lights are not answered timely. On average call lights take 30 to 45 minutes to be answered. The food is bad and there was little to no concern for providing a diet to meet the patient needs. PT and OT are good and the only positive system in this facility. Don't be fooled by the nice decorations. My husband could not wait to get me out of this facility. Such a depressing environment. Staff training for patient care leaves a lot to be desired. Many of the staff have issues with English being their second language. Perhaps all facilities have these issues. Spend time speaking with staff and patients before selecting this facility. Buyer beware.

I am disappointed with the "care" my mother is receiving. More like the lack of care. The hallway smelled badly and when i reached her bed I started to cry. She smelled bad, the only pants we could find of hers were split wide open in the crotch. Her roommate said that they only get a shower once a week but the lady who showers them no longer works there and the last shower was two weeks ago. My mother speaks very little since her stroke 5 months ago so it is hard to get information from her. She has several bruises and a thick scab on her leg. They are using wipes and cleansers that contain ingredients that are known to cause adverse reactions. Especially the wipes they use on her eyes that contain Diazolidinyl urea. Diazolidinyl urea is an antimicrobial preservative used in cosmetics. It is chemically related to imidazolidinyl urea which is used in the same way. Diazolidinyl urea acts as a formaldehyde releaser. Wikipedia Why does anyone believe it is okay to use this ingredient on anyone and especially on the eyes?

My mother has been at Avalon for one week, following an acute stroke and three weeks in the hospital. All of this had come on suddenly and I we were left without much guidance from the hospital. Our family is very impressed with the care and kindness expressed by all the staff we have met. The front office has been exceptional in helping me to navigate the process of all the paperwork, options, etc. The Social Worker, Activity Director and Office Management demonstrate a true passion for what they do and they serve with sincerity and kindness. The Nurses Aides and Physical/Occupational Therapist are also very compassionate. My mother can be a difficult patient at times, and I am not easy to please. I have a high standard of what I expect in the service sector, and we are all very pleased with the decision to place my mother at Avalon for her rehab. If her care needs move to long term, we would certainly hope to keep her at Avalon.

I had been in Avalon Care Center in the rehab center after my stroke. My experience there was very good. I really liked the people. I had a lot of health issues and they were very attentive. I would highly recommend this place. They had therapy and everything, so that was wonderful.

My mother stayed at the Avalon Care Center for about 6 six weeks in 2009.They offer long term and short term care. My mom was in the short term section. It's a pretty, elegant place. The staff is pleasant and she appeared to have good care. There seems to be a good selection of activities and social events, including a movie theater. Unfortunately, Mom had suffered a severe stroke and needed physical rehab to get use of her left side back. We could never determine that she received much therapy at Avalon. She was able to do more activities after a week of being in my sisters house than she was after 5 weeks at the facility. I'd say Avalon is a nice place to stay but plan carefully for any therapy you need.
