The Kensington Reston Assisted Living is a beautiful facility. It provides assisted living care for people going through physical difficulties, as well as for people who have memory difficulties. We are about to move from a modest room where we have the opportunity to evaluate whether we want to make our stay here permanent. And as a matter of fact, we are going to be moving into a two-bedroom unit, and I will be moving in with him as well. The staff members are exceptionally kind and attentive, and they have a very good staff-to-residents ratio. They're very flexible on visiting, and they are very careful about security. They have basement parking or underground parking. It's the most beautiful place, and it has only been open since February, so everything is brand new and very attractive. He enjoys the outdoor patio; there is a huge outdoor patio and he likes that. They have games, a book club, happy hour, movie night, and daily exercise. He likes to play Jeopardy, crossword puzzles, and a music game where they identify the singer, composer, or name of the tune. There are opportunities all day for both resting and participating in activities with other people. The dining area is lovely and accommodates up to six people to a round table, or four people to a smaller table. They have several areas, and there's a place where you can dine with your family or friends that is separated by a sliding-glass door so that you can have a private party. You can eat outside on the patio, or you can eat in a bistro-type setting where you can get snacks. The food is wonderful and it's presented in a very artistic way, so it's very appealing. Also, you can get many choices and order off a menu. You don't have a specific time where you have to be in the dining room, or a specific, limited meal. There are at least a dozen or more choices every day for every meal. It's expensive, but it's worth it.
