About Tapp Family Home - CLOSED in Mechanicsville, Virginia
Tapp Family Home, Inc. is a licensed Assisted Living Facility where care is provided for elders who need some supervision and/or assistance with activities of daily living. On 16 acres in rural Mechanicsville just off US 301 in the Rural Point - Pearson's Corner area. Our serene location offers a large deck off the sunroom which allows residents to enjoy the trees, wildlife and fresh air of the country.
We are a private home, not an institution, where our residents are cared for as family members. Our residents are loved here and consider this their home. Our priorities are to keep them safe, healthy and happy and to give each one the best life possible.
We provide whatever assistance is needed for daily tasks of living such as dressing, bathing, shaving, hair care, oral and denture care, toileting, incontinence care, etc. as well as three home-cooked meals a day with snacks, laundry, housekeeping, medication administration, and daily resident activities. Hospice care is provided by local hospices and we work with home health agencies providing physical, occupational and speech therapy.
Our staff members are dedicated, caring and trained to take the best care of elders whose capacities may be declining. This ensures your loved one always has the best care possible. We are blessed to have a stable group of aides who have been with us for years and love our residents.
The difference is in the small-home family setting we provide our residents. Our licensed caregivers are hand-picked and are very experienced. They are loving, caring and provide a level of assistance, supervision and friendship that is loving and respectful.
Our setting is peaceful, serene and designed to feel just like home. We know how difficult it is to select a facility for your loved one(s).
We offer private and companion rooms as well as a month-to-month agreement.
We provide home-cooked meals, individual attention, assistance with hygiene and dressing, medication administration, laundry, and housekeeping, as well as daily scheduled activities, snacks between meals, transportation to the physician, Bible studies and a weekly non-denominational worship service.

Tapp Family Home was very nice. It was a home that had been converted to a facility. It was very clean. It looked well organized and had no ill smells. They had a nice gathering room. The staff was very supportive and seemed very open. It was a nice and easy conversation. They were very personable. I liked them. There was nothing wrong with the place. I would place my aunt there with a clear conscience. They did activities. They had a really nice deck that would be delightful for spring and summer. They had a well-accommodated bathroom that was really big and accessible.
