My husband and I moved in at Arbor Terrace of Herndon. Our apartment is large and furnished. It has a full kitchen, a stove, a microwave, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a full washer and dryer, and we are provided with 2 meals a day and soup at lunch. The food here is very good. The staff who assisted us with the tour was very knowledgeable. They have a walking trail and a courtyard. There's adequate parking as well. We have physical therapy and bingo. There's a swimming pool that is not on site, but close by. They also provide us with transportation.

Arbor Terrace of Herndon was nice. The units were smallish. We had dinner there and it was good. They take pets and I have a cat. The grounds were pleasant. They had kitchenettes, and they serve three meals. The facility was clean. They give you some choice in your decor. They do a full redecoration between residents. They are starting some renovation, which will be good. The vibe that I got there was livelier than in the other place. The staff wanted to show the place off to their best advantage. When they didn't succeed, they were still trying, so I give them kudos for that. The dining staff was not up to the standards of the other ones I toured, but they were good and they were trying. I felt like they cared as they cared for the residents. Our tour guide was trying to sell the establishment. She was very cordial. I didn't get warm fuzzies from her, but she was very nice. They had a very nice patio and a fire pit, but they didn't have many grounds. They didn't have a walking trail.

Overall, Arbor Terrace of Herndon was very bright and nice. It's obviously an older facility, but they remodeled it; it's very nice. The two staff people that we met knew the place. They were very friendly, and obviously knew the residents and cared for them. Our main concern about Arbor Terrace was actually a little bit of the location and where they were located. The amenities are average to above average. They weren't top of the line. They have a salon and a nice garden. They also have a little gym and somebody that comes in (an activities director). Our main drawback was the location.

We visited Arbor Terrace. It was a pretty good experience. The staff seemed to be very helpful. The rooms were attractive and pretty well thought out. The dining is fine, a little bit cramped, but aesthetically nice. It was set up in such a way that people share tables. The food was pretty good, and that's why they were above most of the other places, the quality was higher. They have tours, entertainment comes in, and they have occasional classes, and exercises. It's expensive, but I looked at a number of places in Northern Virginia, and this was the best that I found.

Arbor Terrace of Herndon is very nice and have individual washers and dryers in the apartments. They serve breakfast and dinner and have a chef, not just a cook. They have a bus that goes to doctors, lunches, and events, which are included in the base fee. The rooms are nice. They have an interesting design concept: it's all glass, which gives you a nice feeling. They have a table that fits in the room and individual heating and air conditioning. The staff is great.

The Arbor Terrace was very nice, but it was very small. I do not know if I want anything that small, but it is close to my son, and it is not expensive. They were putting in a new dining room and a new theater when I was there, and I assume it would be very nice when they get it done.
