This is a wonderful facility where they care deeply about the residents. The Nursing Staff is the Very Best!!! There is atleast ONE RN on EVERY SHIFT. All other Staff that I have had the pleasure to come in contact with from the Office Manager, Care Coordinators, Activities Director, Front Desk Receptionist, hairdresser, Housekeeping etc. etc. are the most professional and nicest people. My mother receives amazing care, they have a lot patience with her and her ever decreasing dementia. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place.

My husband was in the Rehab section of this facility for about six weeks. Nursing and medical care was fine, but my complaint would be with the Administration staff, especially the Case Workers. We had no intake meeting until he had been in the facility about three weeks, and had very few updates about his insurance status for a release time. When he was to be released the nursing staff were the ones to inform of this, No call, text, or visit of the case worker to inform us. Later we were billed for time we were not aware he would not be covered. by insurance. When trying to communicate with the administrative staff about this - it was impossible to talk with them and to get answers about the negligence of their case workers. His case worker would be absent often and I feel she did a poor job. I feel frustrated being responsible for a bill I believe we should not have incurred. I cannot afford to pay for her poor management and her mistake. At this time of my husband's medical crisis, he was in four other facilities - each case worker in those places were professional and may sure we were advised when he would be discharged. Just be aware of this major flaw with this Gainesville Health and Rehab Center. .

Gainesville Health and Rehab is awful! They sent my dad home with MRSA and shingles, which he caught at their facility. Our family doctor sent directly to the ER and he spent over a week in the hospital recovering from this experience! Do hot go there! Dr. Gupta is the worst doctor I have ever met! The PT dept is good. The food was not good.

My daughter was previously in Gainesville Health and Rehab for 11 weeks in 2014. It was much better. The room was a semi-private room, which was better furnished. It was a newer building and not as worn down. The staff was good, both the caring staff as well as the occupational and physical rehab staff. She had some food in her room and some in the dining room, and it was more than adequate. She had physical, occupational, and speech therapy. They had activities you could join in to -- sing-alongs, church services, puzzles, and games -- but she was not able to participate in any of those. The staff was very warm, welcoming, very cordial, easy to get in touch with, and responsive.

My mother was in this facility for over a month, and we were very disappointed in the care she received. Based on our experience, I wouldn't put my dog here! The physical therapy department seems good, but that's it. My recommendation is to avoid this place at all costs.

The Director of Nursing "K.S." at this facility is extremely unprofessional when addressing the nursing staff. The DON at this facility will berate her employees in a demeaning way in front of co-workers and patients. This causes a high turnover of the nursing staff which directly causes a disproportionate nurse to patient ratio. Low employee morale. It all starts at the top......poor upper management. With that said....the Nursing Staff on the floor is still able to be cordial, professional and provide great care to the patients.

This is a patient care facility for the elderly. I do not recommend this place because the nursing aides and assistants seem very overwhelmed and too busy to deal with the patients. Often the patients can be seen waiting in their wheelchairs in the hallways for extended periods. There doesn't seem to be activities for the residents that are bed-bound and this makes me concerned about the patients developing bed sores. I used to visit a fellow parishioner at this facility and he would appear to be untidy and not very clean. His shirt would be full of stains and his urine bag was full. Once I inquired from one of the nursing assistants about what the ratio of nursing staff to patient ration was, and she told me she wasn't sure, "...maybe about 12-14 residents to 1 of us, I think". I just shook my head!
