I visited this facility

We toured Warm Hearth Village. It was very nice. They have very nice facilities like an indoor pool and a very nice workout area. They also have classes. They have individual living, then they have assisted living, and then beyond that, they had the dementia unit. The staff were very knowledgeable, and they answered all of our questions very well.

I like the fact that at Warm Hearth Village, you can buy a condominium or a place to live there. It's a gated community, which is quite normal. They take care of the cleanliness and upkeep. They had all kinds of exercise, swimming pools, a tennis court, and organized exercise. The staff has been very helpful. They have some other things there concerning hair and stuff, and there's a whole list of that.

Warm Hearth Village was very good. They had single-level townhomes, which were well done. The staff was very good. The dining area was very impressive and well staffed. They had many activities like shopping trips, plays, outdoor sporting activities, and hiking in the area. They've got a salt water pool and different venues for different activities like painting area, piano room and libraries. Everything about it was top notch.

Warm Hearth Village has all levels of care. It has cottages for independent living, an assisted living unit, nursing homes, and a memory care unit. It's in a very nice wooded area. There are a large number of people living there. The person who showed us around was very helpful. The place is about 25 years old so it reflects the décor of that period, and there is darker wood.

Warm Hearth Village is a retirement community like no other. With 220 acres, I love the beautiful surroundings. It feels like you are far away, but still close everything at the same time.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Do your research before selecting and purchasing a unit for a loved one at the "non-profit" Warm Hearth Village. They talk a good game, but in fact--there is minimal care or oversight. A residents can end up living in squalor amidst piles of hoarded junk, while WHV callous staff quite literally chuckle about his or her living conditions. Meanwhile the resident's initial "investment" erodes for a decade, while simultaneously the resident is paying the high fees due monthly to the "non-profit village". THINK TWICE and move once. Evaluate other options (like a condominium, which will not LOSE money and likely has lower fees). AVOID this place.

I visited this facility

They were very proud of the new recreation building that they have put up at Warm Hearth Village. They were in a dense wooded area, so it was quite dark and sheltered. The room that we saw was very small. It was going to be extremely difficult to get into because you can start out with a full independent living home, and they had sort of a step down thing where you can be independent living and then assisted living and then long term nursing care or dementia, so they had quite a long waiting list, and I didn't have that time luxury. It is about 25 years old now, except for their brand new building where they have their main offices, and they have a swimming pool, a workout room, a room where they can do like yoga or exercises, a nice chapel where they can also have performances, and I know they have a very extensive activity program, but we knew that it wasn't going to be for us because we just couldn't wait that long. We only talked to one person from the staff, and she was fine, but not very positive about having anything anytime soon. I know it's got a great reputation.

I visited this facility

I was really impressed with Warm Hearth, but they had no space available. It seemed outstanding. The people, the physical facility, the levels of care they had -- I was very impressed. I liked that it was a non-profit. So, they could pay more attention to the needs of their clients as opposed to making a profit. It was a very attractive community with upper middle class quality physical surroundings, but they also made provisions for people who do not have money. They had ways of accommodating all types of people, which I thought was very admirable. It was a continuum of care facility, and like so many continuum of care places, they gave higher priority to people who had lived in their other units, whether they were apartments, homes, assisted living, or what have you.

This facility has a very professional staff who have shown care, concern and empathy through each step of the process from visiting my mother's home when we were looking around at different facilities to when they called Hospice in. The nursing staff, aides, and even the people who clean the facility shown a great deal of care for my mother. I've never been there when I didn't see the cleaning staff. This is a very difficult journey for anyone but the staff at Warm Hearth have made it easier. I don't worry about my mother because I know she's being taken care of.
