My parents moved to Waltonwood at Ashburn. The people who work there are very kind and caring. It's a very clean, elegant community, and it's near where I live. They have a very nice two-bedroom apartment that faces into a courtyard. They have lots of activities. They have daily exercise classes and some residents have taken it upon themselves to come round and introduce themselves. They have an active community. They have a library, newspapers, and happy hours. The food is institutional. The staff is excellent.

Waltonwood at Ashburn was a beautiful place. I was there several times. Each time I was really impressed with everything. There was care. I liked the facility. It's five years old, so it's fairly new. It has a wonderful trainer and athletic area, which is good. It also has a swimming pool, which is heated. The dining area was exceptional and wonderful. The food was really good. You have a choice, and there's a menu. They have exercise classes. They have beautiful equipment, which is very useful for elderly people. We can also take our dog. The apartments are beautiful. You have a choice of apartments, which is why we are waiting. You have your own bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and complete laundry in your own apartment. I was really pleased with the floor surfaces. Everything is covered. I felt really comfortable walking there because that was a concern. Everything was just well done. They had a 24-hour concierge service, so there's somebody there 24-hours a day, which you can talk to if you need help.

The food is mostly mass produced, frozen and is served on a three week rotational/repetitive menu. The best to be said is, it keeps you alive!! Almost total resident disapproval. Safety is questionable. No fire drills for IL. No notification when contagious disease starts within the facility, and more.

Waltonwood at Ashburn was nice, but it didn't have as big of a kitchen as the other place I visited. They had an indoor pool. They would give you 2 meals a day - breakfast and dinner. The apartments were nice and very spacious. They had a gym for yoga or pilates. They had a dog park. It was located right across from the Harris Teeter grocery store and eating facilities.

I visited Waltonwood at Ashburn. It was very nice. The staff and the residents there were friendly. The residents were more out and around. It was laid out well for getting around for the activities. They had a lot to do and the residents seemed very happy. The time that we went, the residents were out doing things, so it was kind of nice to see. They had a pool and video games.

The entire staff works hard to ensure the needs of my parents are met at every level. For example, Waltonwood staff provide the needed support and care to my parents, one with physical limitations and the other with dementia. In addition, the staff are always friendly and helpful which means a great deal. The concierge, medical techs, aides and nurses have treated my parents with respect and compassion like they were members of their own family. My parents feel that the food is top-rate, the residents and staff are friendly and the activities, such as art history lectures, movies, and music have been very enriching. My family feels this is a wonderful community.

We would like to move my parents into Waltonwood at Ashburn. The building has three sections to it, and the apartment I looked at on the independent side was beautiful. They do bi-weekly cleaning, they offer two meals a day, but they still have their own kitchen. They're located closely to a shopping area across the way, and it's between my brother and I, so it's super convenient for both of us. They have transportation and different activities there, and it really felt like a senior apartment. My mom is in the early stages of dementia and the fact that we could move her to assisted living and memory care was a nice thought for us. They have a beauty salon, a small library, a game room where they have a card table and a pool table, they have a small gym, a small pool, and a gardening room. It seemed like a better fit for my parents to start off with.

My father is now at Waltonwood at Ashburn. The experience is good. Everything is good. The apartment is very adequate and it is very good. They have everything for activities, like movies, crafts, games, and exercises. They do their laundry and they'll take you to the doctor too. The staff members have been terrific. They are very professional, kind, and respectful. Waltonwood at Ashburn is expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Waltonwood at Ashburn was my first choice because it was brand new, so Mom would be the first person to occupy her apartment. It was outstanding and the layout was very effective. Everything I saw was excellent. It was in an ideal location being near a major shopping center, easy access with a large walking path. Her room would have overlooked a dog park that they have on site. The people I spoke with were outstanding.
