Davis Home did not have an opening, but we did like it. It was nice. They seemed to take care of the residents. The rooms were nice, but some of them you have to share with other residents. They have three different stairwells, which were nice, but my mom got hung up on the concern about the chairlift. It scared her and she didn't want to deal with it. They also have some single rooms, but you have to wait a long time to get into those. There is nothing special with the dining area, but they have a sitting room, which is OK. They have a closed-in porch when the weather is decent, that is nice; however, you can't use that in the cold weather. The place was clean and well maintained. It's an older home, but it was fine.

Davis Home is a small, family-oriented type of facility. Mom is in a good sized room. I had dinner there with my mom once. The staff was very friendly. They do her laundry and her meds, so we don't have to worry about those. They're like a family and they all eat dinner together. Even the staff eats with the residents. They have games as well as arts and crafts. My mom goes to the library two hours a week. It's a very nice place. I would definitely recommend it.

This facility had a different name when I visited it. My grandmother was housed there because she had gotten into the rough stages of Alzheimer's and at the time my mother felt it best. The staff was nice enough, but were aloof. I believe that now they are under new ownership, and want to say I am sure they have better staffing, and wouldn't like to say anything negative about the place, because it has been a while since I have been there. But I did not like the fact the people were locked in their rooms at night, at least the alzheimers patients were. Other people were free to roam about as they pleased, and that was nice to see. They offered entertainment for people staying there such as a game room, and it gave people an opportunity to meet other people, and make new friends. I was unhappy at the times when I visited because I felt that my grandmother was being kept prisoner. I was also young then, and didn't realize that what was being done, was for her own good. I have since heard that people feel very comfortable putting their loved ones here.
