Alexis Pointe is a beautiful facility with the kindest and most caring staff. Each time I visit, I witness another activity full of happy residents and hear of another event they are planning to celebrate a milestone birthday or honor a veteran. They also offer support groups for caregivers which has been so helpful. It is such a relief to know my loved one is being taken care of with the love, joy and compassion that I have prayed for.

I toured Alexis Pointe of Wimberley Senior Living. I liked that it's in a small town, and it felt very warm. The staff seemed to know all of the folks. They were very open talking to me, and I like the three levels of care in one facility. I only saw one room. They were fairly full. They had one that had just come available, but it had not been cleaned out yet so, I didn't get a real sense of it. It was adequate. Knowledgeable and kind staff. I talked to the intake person. And then I talked to the person that had responsibility for memory care. And they were all very professional. I saw some activities in the memory care wing, and they had an activity director talking to a couple of women.

They are a lovely facility with great caregivers. However, BEWARE, If your loved one is an Alzheimer's resident, they will not necessarily keep them until "end of life" as they assured us they would do. Their website claims to "provide specialized care for ALL stages of dementia" and accommodate "two person transfer", yet as soon as my 100lb mother could not support her own body weight, and it took two caregivers to move her, they wanted me to move her out. We were told when we signed our contract, that we would never have to move our mother and that she could die there. They spent the last two months of my mothers life and time there, coming up with every kind of excuse to not keep her. It seems, based on everything I know and researched, they didn't want to hire or train additional staff to deal with someone who requires the extra care. Anyone who has a parent with Alzheimer's, should not use a Civitas facility and search elsewhere.

I moved to Alexis Pointe. The people are very friendly and the food is really good. My apartment is just a room, but it's big enough and it's clean; it'll do just fine. They have lots of activities planned. I haven't joined any yet, but it looks like they really work at sort of keeping you entertained. They've got some walking groups, star-gazing, movie nights, and stuff like that. The staff is great, they're really friendly, and they would do anything for you to help out.
