My friend is in The Brazos of Waco for a while. She is in rehab. It's a very beautiful place. It's new and very clean. However, I don't think they provide very good service to my friend, because she has told me that they're bad about doing her laundry and bad about getting their clothes back to her. They went for two weeks with three or four items of her clothing, and they never returned but one item. She also said that they don't supply the care she should be getting. Their therapy department doesn't work with her, as they should. They will just come in, get her out of bed, take her down to the therapy department and maybe work with her for about five minutes. They'll throw a ball back and forth to her and then determine that there's nothing they can do for her. I won't give them a high rating on taking care of people. My friend told me about the food and that it's not all that great. She said it's a lot of noodles and stuff like that. She doesn't think too highly of it. They have a pretty nice dining area, but she eats a lot there in her room that they have for her. Her room is pretty nice though. She said that they don't have a lot of activities like some of the other nursing homes that she had been in. The activities, at least on her part, are not all that great. They also charge more for their room rates than the other place does. I think they could improve if they would get better help and not use so many agency people because the agency people do not have concerns for their patients. And also, if they would work with families more. I've never talked to the administrator, and they've never reached out to me. The admitting lady, that is a liaison, she's very hard to get in touch with and talk to. They need to improve their staff, and the way they take care of people. They need to be more concerned. And on their therapy, they need to work with the people. I feel like they're just collecting the money and not doing their jobs correctly.
