I just got out of Regent Center, and it was good, but I had a bad experience while I was there. I also have bipolar disorder, and I can get really high, out of whack, and talking all the time. And then, I can get really low and depressed and just close myself off from the world, and it is controlled by medicines. I take a lot of medicines, but the medicines that I take work very well. I thought it was a good environment.

Communication at the facility-whether it be about the pandemic or general assistance-was ridiculous! I was told I could not visit, then by appointment, and last, I was never told I had to take a class to see him (even though I had seen him the day before). Not knowing their duties and of coworkers who no longer worked there; caused confusion towards his care. No knowledge of the release of his belongings, created unnecessary conflict. Last, the staff showed no care for the loved one's of it's patients. If he wasn't in so much pain-he would've left.

Regent is very clean, and the staff is very helpful. My mother hates it because it’s an institution. Her room is very clean, and has a window. She hates the food, but I have eaten there several times. I did not find it objectionable.

Regent Care Center of Woodway is located just outside Waco. This facility offers different types of rehabilitation services. I like that the staff works with the patients, as well as the patients' families. This facility offers speech therapy and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. The staff trains the patients to follow the exercises needed for that patient's specifc rehab needs. They also offer classes for family members, so they can learn how to help the patients as well.

During college, I volunteered with a local hospice, and many of the patients I visited (usually in the late afternoons) were located in this nursing home. The nurses were always very courteous, and the lady at the front desk was also pleasant. There was always someone manning the nurses' station, in the event that anyone needed assistance. The facility has TV rooms, a dining room, double suites, and private suites. The private suites consist of two single patient rooms connected to a shared living room. One problem was that they didn't always require you to sign in when entering the building. However, the center is in a good part of town, so patients don't have to worry so much about having their possessions or money stolen (But, in my opinion, you can never be too careful!). Overall, it is a very good facility; none of the patients I visited ever complained about how they were treated.
