The Village at the Woodlands Waterway is a very nice place, but it's expensive. The person who gave me a tour was very nice. The rooms were nice. What I liked about it was that it was maybe three quarters miles from home, which was nice. The facility was very clean. Everything is very professional.

I toured The Village at The Woodlands Waterway. They really didn't seem to be all that interested. They gave me a nice presentation, a nice walk through, but I didn't get a sample of food, which is important to me. I don't think they had anything available right away. They walked me through everything but didn't have any available rooms to show me.

I will be moving into the Village at the Woodlands Waterway. I wanted a place that provided assistance if I needed it, and the Village does. I was pleased. The staff member during the tour was thorough. They provided both independent and assisted living. I checked out the facilities, and they all were satisfactory to me. It was the facility that sold it to me, not the person. The rooms were pretty typical of others that I've seen. What I wanted was two bedrooms, a bedroom, and a living room where I had three meals a day, and they had the facilities that I wanted, like a barbershop, a place to dine and sit, and those types of things. They had all that. The staff did their job. They were efficient and helpful. They weren't any better or different than the ones that I've seen at other facilities. There's nothing head and shoulders above the others except that it had independent and dependent living, and the location. I'm happy with that selection. The activities looked satisfactory to me. I liked the location, being that I can leave the building and go down and get on the Woodlands' bus and go almost anywhere in the Woodlands. It's convenient.

We toured The Village at The Woodlands Waterway and it was very good. Cherie was really good and very knowledgeable and gave us all the time we needed. The rooms were an odd arrangement, though, at least the rooms that we looked at. The ones that saw were not freshly painted and all that sort of thing. Their pool was under construction; it had to be redone. But I will say I was disappointed that there was no outdoor space.

My mom has lived here in independent living for 6 years. The best part is the location. Convenient to HEB, the library and the Waterway. My mom has a great view of the Waterway and loves to watch all the activity. She also enjoys walking along the Waterway. The two main problems are the ongoing construction repair (going on since she has lived there) and the limited guest parking. The parking situation has just gotten much worse and the fire lanes in the parking lot are often blocked.

The Village at The Woodlands Waterway was very nice and very pleasant. It's a very nice community and in a good location. I toured their independent living and the amenities were nice. I liked their outdoor patios too. They were small but it would be nice to get to sit outside and have some fresh air. They're small but manageable. I saw a 1-bedroom apartment and it was okay. The model they showed me was clean but it was empty. They didn't have any availability at the time. The facility looked well-maintained and clean. It's also close to shopping and outdoor walking spaces.

The Village at The Woodlands Waterway is very upscale, and I liked it. They have valet parking and extensive grounds there. They also have transportation to places, and the waterway's right in front, so the little boat stops and picks you up. I looked at the food menu, and it looked very good. The rooms were extremely nice. I like the one-bedroom on the sixth floor and the patio. They had two bedrooms and a small one-bedroom. They have a swimming pool.

The Village at The Woodlands Waterway seemed like a really good place, otherwise I wouldn't put my dad on a waiting list there. I walked around and saw it all. It was about a two and a half hour visit that I spent with them. I like that it's a rocks' throw from me, so I can get there quickly. It is located where a lot of things are within walking distance. The waterway runs right next to it so that you'll be able to sit out and enjoy that. They have the Ironman competition and they swim through that waterway. I've been living in this area for 39 years, so it's a good spot. The staff took to me real quick, we got along great, so I'm thinking it's going to be a great spot for them.

The Village at The Woodlands Waterway was good. I have no issues with it. They showed me the complete facility, the rooms, the common areas, the little gym area, the pool, and the outside. It looked good. I think the gym needs a little work, but they said they're gonna get some new machines in there. Other than that, it looked fine. The person who showed me the facility was perfect. I didn't see anybody doing anything. They were making a line to go eat and some people were doing some sitting down exercise from a TV.

I've been living in The Village at The Woodlands Waterway. It was much more positive than I expected. The staff is attuned to resident needs, and willing to accommodate special needs. Dining is above average. We have a private dining room with white tablecloths and independent waiters, table service, and you order from menus. It's very accommodating. It's as close to non-institutional as I could find. I live in a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. It's an exceptional living quarters. I have a full kitchen, microwave, and washer-dryer. Housekeeping comes in once a week and changes the bedding, they don't do your physical laundry, you've got your own washer-dryer, and that's very nice. We have a resident led food committee, and they accommodate any of our suggestions. The village is owned by a corporation, and so they have menus that are area specific. So you're going to be getting food that you expect, but they endeavor to copy fine dining. I like the food. I also keep a supply of snack foods and frozen meals, so if I don't feel like going to the dining room, I can have something here in the apartment. If you want something from the dining room, they will deliver food to your apartment, but there's a fee. We have an extensive activity schedule, and we have a van that will take us to various outings, monthly dinner outings called the Supper Club, and monthly lunch outings called the lunch bunch. They play games, they offer different games like jeopardy, trivia, bingo, scrabble, and a number of different card games. They have a crafts class, an oil painting class, and we have a very, very active book club. Right now, we're understaffed. When we have staff, they are always a five. They go out of their way. The chef even comes around during the dining hours and asks if you like things, or if you have better suggestions, and again, he is the one that instigated the food committee. Then they have comment cards. They are always asking, "What can we do better?" and they do cooking demonstrations. You usually sign up for different activities that you want to go to, and they have a limit of course on the number of people that you can have at any activity. It's great for the chef to come in with a cart, prepare some sort of special dish or special dessert, and everybody gets a serving of it. And he asks, "Would you like to see more or less of this?" They're very responsive to the residents, and right now we are at about a 95 percent occupancy rate. They're value appropriate. You get what you're paying for.

Village at The Woodlands Waterway was a very nice facility. It appeared to be run very well and it's very close to The Woodlands amenities, which are nice as well. It has a trolley that goes right by the front door to the edge of the mall or the Market Street center. The personnel seemed very professional and caring too. The menu looked good and I saw them serving lunch and it looked appetizing. To me, the location was just excellent.

We've been down at The Village at The Woodlands Waterway and we liked it. It was pretty good. It was probably the best assisted living place we looked at. They gave us a good tour and most of the people there seemed very satisfied. The staff had a welcome sign for us when we got there, and the lady gave us plenty of documents to look at, took us around, and showed us everything we wanted to see at the time. I only saw one room and it was already taken, but the people hadn't moved in yet. I probably want to look at some more stuff before I decide. I didn't see anything that was really bad there, except we're used to a lot more space, so we would have to get rid of a lot of stuff if we moved there. It's in a good part of the Woodlands, and you can see a lot of stuff, like the waterway. It's a pretty pleasant place. I think they have a pool and a place where you can do a little exercise. It looked very clean there from what I saw.

We went to see The Village at The Woodlands Waterway. The place faces over to the waterway in The Woodlands. It was okay but the thing I didn't like about that was that their memory care facility was on the second floor, not on the ground floor. They also did not have any outdoor areas other than a balcony. They were in the process of renovating and all of that. I didn't get the same feeling that I got when we went to that one facility we liked. It was hard to find and then they do have parking but other than valet parking, it was like maybe 12 parking spots total. So, if you weren't there when the valet guy was there, I'm not sure where you would park. They have a balcony instead of an outdoor, grassy area. There's no grassy area to go to because the memory care is on the second floor. They did have games and things like that for their residents and we did see some of them watching TV and talking and that kind of stuff, but not much else. They were in the process of getting new furniture and renovating, they did tell us that. They've been working on trying to get the memory care side updated for a while now and then they're just finally getting it done. We saw the menu and they had a couple of choices. I will say their menu was hard to read. It was hard to determine which one they were going to choose. It was weird and if I had trouble figuring it out, I'm sure other people would too. The layout of the room had the bedroom part and then it had a bathroom, each one of the rooms has a bathroom. I will say that that facility had more general seating in the middle of the hallways and it was laid out nicely. I guess if you wanted to visit with your family member and you didn't want to visit in their room, it had a kind of a nice little space for that. They had a patio but it was on the second floor and I wasn't comfortable with certain memory care people on the second floor with just a rail.

I went to The Village at The Woodlands Waterway and toured all the levels of care. Our experience was great. The staff was very good, and the facility was lovely. It's not so good if you have a car, but it's a wonderful location. There were all kinds of amenities, transportation, activities, and lots of planned programs. They had all kinds of games, crafts, book club, a travel club, movie night, and excursions offsite. The problem was the parking. The dining facility was very comfortable and very flexible.

My Grandpa resided at this assisted living facility until he passed. There is nothing below a solid 4 stars here. The Nurses are top notch and caring, the Chef creates meals that are flavorful and just plain delicious, My Grandpa always enjoyed that regardless of the time of day they always had hot coffee and ice cream available for him (it's the small details that make a place great), his room was spacious and maintained temperatures even during cool months, they do a wonderful job coming up with varying activities so all clients feel as involved and at home as they wish. Some days my Grandpa just wanted to look out the window and enjoy the birds others he enjoyed interacting with fellow residents. Overall The Village is a wonderful place that is staffed with caring people who treat the residents as if they were family.

The Village at The Woodlands Waterway is extremely nice, but it is above what I could pay for. The staff members that I met seemed very nice. The community is very upscale and clean. It is extremely nice with wonderful surroundings because it is right on The Waterway. You can walk and you can get to places. There is also a trolley that goes all-around; the people can take the trolley. The Village at The Woodlands Waterway was my first choice.

The Village at The Woodlands Waterway is fancy and nice, but I'm just not a fancy person. They have a pool and water aerobics, which is good for me. They showed me a 1-bedroom with a living room and a kitchen, which is all I would need. They also showed me a 2-bedroom. They showed me the ones that were redone and they looked very nice. Everything about the community is polished and very nice. The lady that showed me around was very nice and knowledgeable. She knows what she was talking about and she showed me everything, including the library, the exercise room, and pool.

The Village at The Woodlands Waterway was excellent. It was 10-stars. I'd love to live there, but it's a little bit expensive and it's a little too far away. The only reason we didn't pick it is because it's further away. We had an excellent tour and I really liked it. They have a lot of amenities. I love the fact that the shuttles come around all day long so you can go down to the mall and shop. They have an apartment-sized washer and dryer in the units and a full-size kitchen. That's a big plus for independent living. A lot of these places don't offer anything except maybe a kitchenette. It is beautiful. They have an indoor swimming pool, exercise rooms, and a lot of social events like mixers and that kind of thing. The staff was excellent. I did not try the food, but we visited the dining room.

We visited The Village at The Woodlands Waterway. The lady was very nice and personable, answered our questions, didn't rush, and wanted to know about our needs. I would recommend her. The place was very attractive. Being in the waterway is not a bad thing because you get a nice view. I enjoyed all of it. They had kayaks paddling by. The building was well kept and clean. It's not a nursing home environment, and it's nice to be in. The lady in the restaurant made a special effort to meet our needs because my wife has a gluten allergy. We had a meal there, which looked and tasted good. The restaurant was really nice. The surrounding tables and so forth were laid out nicely. The people were cordial and friendly, which is a result of being in a friendly atmosphere. It was a good experience. Being on a lake has a very calming effect. You can sit back and relax there.

The Village at The Woodlands Waterway is very nice. If we had been in the market, that's where we would have moved. The people are caring and thoughtful. They go beyond what is expected to take care of the people who are living there, and they keep them active. The location is perfect. They are within several blocks of libraries and stores. They have a shuttle service to bring you wherever you want to go. They have everything that you could think and want in a retirement home.

We are moving my mother-in-law into the Village at the Woodlands Waterway tomorrow. It's very clean and didn’t smell, which is a big thing. The hallways are really wide, and they have a lot of things for the residents to do. It is really close to the Woodlands Mall and is on the trolley line, which is a big thing. The best thing is it is two minutes from my husband, so it is very convenient to visit from his work place. The food is good. One concern of my mother-in-law is that the food is good. We had a great lunch there. She has a washer and dryer in her room.

Don't let the pretty interior and nice location make you think the assisted living or memory care caregiving providers and food will be as good. Caregivers in the AL and Memory Care are poorly trained and spend more time visiting with each other than the residents. Uncertified personnel distributed meds in Memory Care. According to the nurse who only works 9-5, this facility is not licensed to have a defibrillator. Unless you don't really need any personal assistance with bathing or transfers and can distribute your own medicine; and, if you can tolerate the inconsistency of the quality of meals served, this is not a good choice. Oh, and many residents went months without hot water. Hopefully, this problem has been corrected.

The Village was a nice place, the rooms were nice, but it's not a very big place, and there's not really anything on the premises for my mom to go outside. The rooms were more of an apartment type. The staff was awesome, very friendly, very pleasant to speak with, and very accommodating.

This place is horrible! I wouldn't even let my parents live there. Caregivers leave residents wet and/or not even shower them. The minute you walk though the doors on the 3rd floor it smells horribly, strong odor of urine, hence what I previously said. Facility should be shut down!

I visited The Village at The Woodlands. I picked this place because it was new and clean. It was close to a good shop. You could walk there, and you could also walk to the library. It was the best location. The staff was wonderful. They had everything you could think of. At the first of each month, they had books and lots of projects. If you wanted to go somewhere, they would take you there. It was very nice. It had a swimming pool that was not too deep and good for exercise. They had events after five if you wanted to have some wine or something. There was a library and a beauty shop. The facility was so clean. There was a place to walk on both sides of the facility. It was near a nice shopping center where there were a lot of boutiques and everything. The apartments had two bedrooms, a living room, and a balcony. The balcony was long but very narrow. We ate at the facility. The lady showed us the menu. We got what we had asked for. The food was warm, and it was delicious.

I am in The Village. The facilities are fantastic; very new, very clean, and very well kept up. The personnel is close to perfect; everybody here is looking to help the people that live here. The staff’s attitude is excellent; the food is very good. They have an indoor swimming pool more for doing aerobics than for swimming. They have a pool table and a gym. They set up trips for them to go on. We’re going on a boat ride Saturday of this week. They’re going to take them bowling. The shopping in this area is phenomenal. You can walk across the streets to the supermarket and to the dry cleaners, and we’re walking distance to the mall. They have a concierge service here, so if you had doctor’s appointments, they’ll drive you over and pick you up. They have a bus service that comes right at the facility, and it takes people every 30 minutes to the mall.

The Village at The Woodlands Waterway was way too pricey, and I was not allowed to have a car, but everything was beautiful there. The staff were very nice. The dining room was very beautiful with very comfortable chairs. You have a menu that you can choose from, and the staff waits on you. They have cards, bingo, a nice computer room, buses for shopping, a church that comes in, and they do your hair; they take care of everything.

I stayed in the wonderful, clean guest suite while visiting my mother in Feb. 2015. She has lived here for two years. The water aerobics program is unique, well attended, and badly needed, but there are problems with pool water temperature and acidity. The meals were tasty and healthy. The facility was clean. The location is wonderful for bird watching, sunsets, and walking sidewalks along the waterway to downtown Woodlands.

The Village at the Woodlands Waterway is the newest facility we saw. It is very expensive and very cold. It didn't have much decoration; it made me think of a hospital or an office building. Literally, the only thing that it had going for itself was the balcony that overlooks the waterway. But even the waterway hasn't been completed just yet. There were rooms for activities and that kind of thing. Their craft room was kind of like an employee's lunch break room for a small company. They are much pricier than everyone else. We were not impressed with them at all. They have a nice balcony in some of the apartments. The apartments were really small. There was no space for a washer and dryer. Basically what it had going for it was its location and it being new. They have huge wide halls that you walk down to get to the room. It was twice as wide as you need. The Village didn't feel like home at all.

The Village at the Woodlands Waterway also had balconies. They are like a high-rise, and the only thing they had available overlooked the HEB grocery store and that was not going to work. If you were facing the water, then it would be nice to be there. But the people were very nice.

I have come across Woodlands Waterway through Caring.com. This was an upscale facility. I like that it was modern. It only started in 2012, so it is really first-class. It is close to The Pavilion. It is also two blocks from a mall, which is one of the best malls in Houston. I noticed that they have shuttle buses for their residents. They were putting on a party the day we came over there, and it was really, really nice. It was fixed up nicely. The rooms were really, really nice. We saw a room that has a 9-foot ceiling and a bathroom. They even have two closets. Also they have a room that was 1050 square feet, and it was the size that I am looking for. The dining room and the food were also first-class.

I did visit The Village at the Woodlands Waterway, and this is a beautiful facility. It's brand new, but very expensive. It's a high rise building, and I knew my mother would not do well in that type of environment. It felt almost like an institution. The rooms that I saw, some of them were little on the small side, and it would make it difficult for my mother to navigate in the rooms with the power chair. The staff was very nice. When I went there, I only saw one activity going on, but I saw their calendar of events, which looked promising.

The Village is a really nice facility. The place was clean, the people were friendly and it’s in a good location. My father-in-law has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and dementia though, and we were concerned about the high rise building. The staff was very nice and sweet.

We visited The Village and the place was clean. It was a high-rise building. What we didn't care for is that it seemed very institutional, but I would absolutely recommend this to others.

The Village is similar to the other facility I visited. The only difference is that it has three levels independent, assisted and memory. They are not connected to each other. So if you're in one, you won't be associated with the other facility. For me, that's a nice feature. The facility itself is very nice. It is a really good place to live. It also has a wonderful place to eat. The location is wonderful. It is right across the street from a big fascinating mall. I would give The Village a high rating; however, it would take everything I make to be able to live there.

The Village was incredible and immaculately clean. I think they opened up in September 2012, so it was a very new facility. What I liked about it was that they had separate sections for memory care and independent living on the same floor that I thought would be perfect. As well they provided a unit where both of my parents could stay together and my mother would still benefit from the memory care. It had more of an apartment feel that I think my father would like if he was there with her. The staff was extremely informative, and I was very impressed with those that I've met. They had activities that would fit my mother's artistic needs. It's also close to where I live. If my parents ended in the Woodlands, the Village would be my first choice. It had all the elements that both of them would have liked.

The food has gotten bad the past year. The Executive Director is not able to resolve problems to my satisfaction. The shuttle left my mom for 2 hours at the doctors office and Oscar requested that I apologize to the driver rather than the driver apologizing to me.

This place is horrible. The head lady Sherry, promises you the whole world and more and provides your mom with nothing. You pay sky high prices and they can not even employ more than 2 caregivers on the whole floor. How can 2 people take care of feeding, medicating, showering and activities for all of our family members. I've never met harder workers at this location. EVERY employee including the kitchen is over worked. When I confronted the corporate location about this matter they said they would investigate and when they got back to me they said that this was not a legal issue. There is neglect because it takes more than two employees to run a floor. I am very disapointed because when I discussed this matter with the location the seemed upset at there care associates for not being able to "tolerate the floor." That was not what I was suggesting at all. I just want my family member to eat on time! She has to wait atleast 30 minutes every meal to get her food because the employees are running around trying to take care of everything. It is not any employees fault is is under staffing problem. I would not suggest this location to anyone. Sorry for the dissapointment.

The Village at the Woodlands Waterway assisted living facility in Texas was one of the places we saw while looking in the region for my brother's friend. The property is in a very convenient location for the family to visit. The waterfront lifestyle is very appealing and we could see that the residents were quite content in this environment. The forest was a nice backdrop which added to the tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. The facility had more of a resort feel than a senior living facility. The fitness center had an indoor pool and very well maintained equipment. They also offer daily exercise classes and the residents may safely navigate the lovely, well kept grounds easily each day. The formal library was quite impressive, with many good books and plenty of comfortable seating. The large living room was also very stately, yet still quaint as what you might find in a nice hotel. There was also a good sized billiards room and a computer center. The convenience store and salon services were also very convenient. The meal menus all had healthy food options for all kinds of diets. The dining room was quite nice, with plenty of space. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious - like what could be found in an upscale restaurant. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them. The safety of the residents is assured with an emergency call system in each private residence. The living spaces were generous, with several different floor plans available. Each unit included kitchens, plenty of closet space, nice sized bedrooms and ample storage space. The high ceilings and granite countertops added lovely touches to each suite. The private spaces also included safety features in the bathrooms. The many planned activities feature everything from book readings and discussions to the arts, for museums, galleries, film and theater. The residents are taken to many interesting events in the Miami region -- to take advantage of the vast cultural diversity. This is an extraordinarily well designed, full service senior community with exceptionally attentive staff -- and we could see how anyone would really enjoy living here. Everything one might need was located right there.

I toured The Village at the Woodlands Waterway in anticipation of recommending the facility to prospective patients. As a family medicine physcian, I frequently tour facilities to make the best reommendation to my patients. I found the Village at the Woodlands Waterway to be a beautiful, well-maintained facility. I was very impressed with the staff. I was promptly greeted the moment I entered the facility and was given a delightful tour by a very happy nurse who was obviously delighted to work at the Village. One thing that really impressed me was how often she greeted the residents by their name. Unfortunately, I've noticed a disturbing and sad trend of anonymity among residents in assisted-living facilities. Not here. Multiple patients were greeted by Mr. and Ms. several times. The menu and setting of the cafeteria was amazing. It was reminenscent of a casual restarant. Residents had a choice of items and were promptly assisted by the courteous staff. I will recommend the Village at the Woodlands Waterway without hesitation.
