My mother-in-law lived in Windsor Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. It was a good place, and they were good people. They had to help her with everything, like going to the restroom. We could not visit but we could have looked through the window, but the weather was too bad. We could also Facetime; I called every day.

My Dad was there for less than 24 hours. I walked in to check on him one morning and he didn't have any oxygen. He was white as a ghost. I started running down the hall yelling for help and no one bothered to help me. The other nurses just stood around, even the ADON. The only staff that helped me were the therapy department. The oxygen concentrator he was using wasn't working, his o2 was in the 40's and none of the other nurses cared. I will never recommend anyone taking their loved one here. He ended up dying and all they cared about was making sure they did nothing wrong.

My mother was her for about a month and a half after repeated falls. During admissions they staff mad it seem to such and amazing place but a couple days in I'm getting a phone call for the facility saying that she had fell again and fractured a hip! I was highly upset ! I've been told they're extremely under staffed the head people are rude to the CNAs it's all just bad . I wouldn't recommend ANYONE putting there family members in this facility. The turnover rates high and that should be a example of how this facility is in it self.

Admission folks were so helpful and I enjoyed rehab. It was hard but really helped me.

BEWARE! This facility is grossly under staffed and is continually being reprimanded by the state. While the facility has been recently updated and looks good, I am outraged by the care that they provide. The Director of Nurses is incompetent, unprofessional, and always smells like cigarettes. She is not friendly to staff, families or residents. There has been tremendous turnover for the facility's administrator. None stay too long. The current one is very creepy and continually touches himself inappropriately while you are talking to him. There is a lot of smoke and mirrors in this place, so be sure and ask lots of questions before you make a decision. This was once the best and most respected facility in Kaufman County, not anymore.

Windsor recently completed a makeover of the facility and updated its look. It wasn't rundown or in need of an update on the facility, in my opinion, but I'm sure the residents greatly appreciate it since most of them never see outside of the care center walls. Windsor is very, very good at providing updates to our family about what is going on with my grandmother, whether she visited the eye doctor or if she has a new bed sore or similar, we never have to worry about how she is when we are not around. The staff seems friendly, in my opinion not too terribly professional, but friendly and our grandmother has never complained about mishandlings of her things or abuse of any kind. We are extremely pleased with the pairing of her current roommate, they get along like sisters and keep each other's company well. When our grandmother's last roommate passed away, we were concerned that our grandmother would be paired with a resident who might not be on the same mental capacity or need more attention, but the staff really hit the nail on the head with the two ladies, they keep each other on their toes, have long discussions which keeps their minds sharp. The kitchen staff is extremely careful to only provide the proper meals for our grandmother's diet, she is diabetic and of course a concern of ours that she might ingest something her body cannot tolerate. Overall, we are please with the look of the facility, the cleanliness of the public areas as well as the private rooms. The staff is also always very good to reserve a room for the family when we bring lunch to share with our grandmother. I would recommend Windsor Care to a relative in need of an assisted living care giver.

My grandmother was a resident at Windsor Care for approx 2 months. The facility is absolutley under-staffed and the residents suffer because of it. For example, my grandmother's mental health medications were not dispensed properly which caused her to go into a state of delerium. Her sheets were not changed for 7 or more days at a time, even after she had accidents while sleeping. My grandmother was not fed properly, if she didn't show up in the dining room, no one bothered to check on her or ask if she would like to have her food delivered to her. My grandmother has dentures and the staff failed to provide food that was acceptable for somone with dentures (they repeatedly served pork chops, corn on the cob, etc). My grandmother fell and broke her hip in this facility because after repeated calls for help, the nursing staff ignored her and she had to try to make it to the bathroom on her own. This facility is not safe, the staff is not compassionate, and therefore I do not recommend it.

All of the people who took care of my mom at Windsor were wonderful. The place was very clean and did not smell like you think a nursing home would. Everyone was so nice to me and my mom. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a nursing home.
