Their work attitude is great. They're very friendly. They're willing to help and they're very outgoing. The food is not so great. I'm not fond of the food. They keep things clean and orderly. The cleaning gals are awesome. The maintenance people do the best they can because they're overwhelmed with work. They have activities. They do various stuff and they try to keep the people busy. It's expensive, but it is what it is. They feed you and they take care of stuff. When you look at it like that, then you're getting your money's worth.

I'm at The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. It's 100% because of the activities, our activity director and our assistant director. All of them are very excellent people. They learn everybody's name. They care about everybody. They actually pray for us when we have problems. They have come and actually prayed for me. They go and visit people in the hospital. They go to other facilities and look out at other places, and they come back and they make corrections and things that they feel better for the residents that live here. I'm one of the ambassadors. A Waterford ambassador is somebody that assists other people. When new people come in, I'm on the welcoming committee. I may show them a room. I may sit down and explain something to them. I said, "If you don't like what they have for dinner, there are 19 things on this menu you can ask for and they will cook it especially for you." If you don't like your fish fried or you don't like your fish baked, you need to tell them that you like it baked or you like it fresh. All the options, all the positive things that happen h on this building, I'm one of the ones that share the information. Each staff member is 110% above what they should be doing. I have seen the head cook come out and when some of the young girls that wait here haven't been able to come over because of exam times and things going on at school, the head cook comes out and waits. One morning at 6:30 or 7:00, I came outside and we had a lot of wind the night before and there were leaves out on the front porch, the executive director picked up the broom. They do above and beyond work here. The meals are very good. I'm a picky eater. I have a lot of allergies. When it's eggs in the morning, I ask for egg whites only and I only get egg whites. I have a lot of particulars about my diet. I said, "I don't eat mashed potatoes and gravy, may I have sweet potato fries?" They said, "Yes, ma'am." They've changed the menu according to your need, which a lot of people don't have time to do, but they do. Maintenance is excellent. If you have something wrong in your room, you fill out a work order and according to the priority you have, they will come and take care of it. If I have a toilet that's making a noise every time I flush it, they may not come right away, but if the lady has a toilet that's running water, they're going to take care of that first. They prioritize the things that happen. They have dance and arts and crafts. They have students from McArthur High School come over to assist us with painting and sewing and all kinds of crafts. We also have all kinds of card games. We have bingo four times a week. I am a writer. I write skits and plays. I've been on Facebook so many times because a lot of things that they do. They put it on Facebook for our families to see it with our permission, of course. The activity director is very good and very creative. It's decorated for Halloween already. I moved December the 27th and they hadn't taken down all the trees yet. There were trees in every corner, even a memorial tree. I pay quite a bit because it depends on the size of the room. I have a living room. I am very, very pleased with the size. I have a kitchenette area, a large bedroom, and a closet in the living room. I get all of my money's worth.

Overall, The Waterford at Thousand Oaks is wonderful. The staff is very, very kind and very thoughtful. The facility itself is topnotch. Everything is always clean. The dietary department is very good. The food is good here. You also can always request something else if you don't like what's on the menu. The place is really like one big family. The staff is very caring. They do a very good job of taking care of our requests for things. They know what they're doing. The majority of the staff has been here for quite some time. They're very kind people. The chef has a menu that we get every Sunday for the week. It's very different. Sometimes, we have Mexican food like enchiladas and string beans, and other times we have a lot of baked chicken, chicken fixed in different ways, sandwiches, and hamburgers. Maintenance is wonderful. We have a very good maintenance crew here. You can request different things. If there's a problem with your apartment, they'll certainly come in and check it all out and do whatever they need to do. Laundry rooms are provided for all the floors. It's very, very sufficient and efficient. They have an activities director that is excellent. We do all kinds of different things. We've made beautiful wreaths for our doors, little jewelry boxes, and flowers. We play bingo three times a week, and then we play different other games and badminton. Activities are very good. They have good entertainment. We've had Elvis impersonator here three times. Everybody loves him. Value for money is fair. Our rent is increased every year by a certain percentage. They have small and large studio apartments, and one- and two-bedroom apartments. The apartments are comfortably furnished with your own microwave and toaster oven. There's one area in the building where you can go and make something special or bake cookies or whatever.

I've been a resident at The Waterford at Thousand Oaks for a little over a year. For the price, they offer a lot of activities and doctor trips and have a good selection of food and the food is good. The staff is very warm and welcoming. They care about all of us and they're very loving. Our chef has been with us for 16 years, and he is on top of having good two strong meals a day with breakfast and then either lunch or supper and a lot of different varieties if you want something different. They're always on top of their job. Maintenance is on top of everything and housekeeping comes in once a week and does a fabulous job. We play different games in the afternoon. We have sitting Zumba classes. We have movie nights. We do special activities for special occasions, like if it's National Elvis Presley Day, they show an Elvis Presley movie. On Christmas, they have all kinds of people come in and do performances. They have a lot of different activities plus they take us to doctor's appointments and to Wal-Mart, H E B and things like that. Even though sometimes I think they're charging me too much money, I know they're a lot less expensive than a lot of places that do less activities for what they charge. So, I think that's very comparable to what they need to be charging and providing for us. I have visited other ones before I came here but I chose here because of the location, the facilities are very clean and well taken care of and the activities that they provide.

They've got a fantastic staff here at The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. We have a lot of people living here that care for each other and have a friendly attitude. The staff is effective at what they do, and they are very friendly and helpful. I think they're an exceptional group here. The food is average. There's a lot of food I can't eat here, but that doesn't mean other people can't eat, it's just me. They need more fresh vegetables for all their meals. We have wonderful housekeeping. The one that takes care of me does a good job. We have a wonderful social director. She has all kinds of card games, board games and other programs. She decorates the place nicely for all the big calendar event days. She goes out of her way. They have arts and crafts. Value for money is perfect. I couldn't get a better deal anywhere right now. With my circumstances, it's just right for me. They've been very good for me.

I am very impressed with the care that is given to seniors at the Waterford at Thousand Oaks. My Aunt has been there for 6 months and she is very happy. The facility is very clean and has a feeling of home. The food is good and there is always a good variety of options. But most importantly, all the staff interact and care about the clients, and treat the seniors like family!! I am so grateful that my Aunt is so happy there!!

The facility is very well maintained and the rooms are very nice and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and caring towards the residents. The maintenance staff is always very quick in responding to any problems. The dining room always serves good food and provides an enjoyable dining experience. There are lots of activities and events for the residents to get involved in. From what I’ve seen whenever I’ve visited and from everything my mother has told me, Waterford is a very pleasant and comfortable place to live.

I toured The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. The overall experience was great. It seemed very welcoming. The staff was very accommodating. They answered all of our questions that we needed and seemed to be more like a family-oriented community. The rooms were divided into two sections. I think they had an older section and a newer section. We opted to look at some of the newer rooms that had a current up-to-date AC, but besides that, the rooms were so sufficient and big. They allowed us to see 1 or 2 of the rooms that had been set up by the residents themselves, which was nice because it gave us a better idea of how you could design the room, especially for my wife.

I toured The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. There were a lot of people when we went through the facility and looked at it. I thought they had a lot of good options. The staff was friendly, very gracious, and welcoming. They had a lot of activities and that was good. They had a craft room where you could go in there. They had a lot of materials and stuff. You could do painting or could do jewelry. The place was very clean. Everything was very well kept and in good condition.

I felt The Waterford at Thousand Oaks was the homiest. My mom liked the feel of the facility. All the apartments were within the same building so that you had easy access to all, like the restaurants and the other rooms. Also, the staff were very nice. They were very friendly to the residents, which is nice to see. We just looked at two-bedroom apartments and Mom liked them, too. The thing that mom didn't like about it though was that it just had a very small kitchenette, which included just a refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink, but it did not have anywhere to cook for yourself.

I went to The Waterford at Thousand Oaks for a tour. The residents looked really happy. It's a very positive environment. It seemed like a special place, it was unusually supportive and caring. They offer levels of care. It was a beautiful community. For me, it was a little far just because of where I'm located, but it was a little special like a family. The administrators had been there for over a decade. They had the same leadership and you could just tell that everybody had been there a long time and that they had created a nice, stable, supportive environment. It was nice. They had very nice studios. They had a large calendar of events. We saw residents engaged in activities and they seemed to be upbeat. They had a beauty shop and a library, which were nice. Our guide did a great job.

We're living in The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. It's just a single building with two stories and elevators. There are three hot meals a day. The dining room is quite nice. All the people that work here are very nice, and we love our apartment. Last year they raised the rent by 10%. We can't afford another 10% raise. It's not that inexpensive here, but it's a beautiful place and nice people. I'm on the second floor in the back of the building. The apartment is a two bedroom, two bath, with this gorgeous living room with five huge windows and a wraparound balcony. It's lovely. It's huge. They have everything from small studios to large, two-bedroom, two-baths. I'm not a real big participant, but there's something going on every day. They have bingo, horse racing, arts and crafts. They have a wonderful activities director, she's amazing, Cindy.

The Waterford at Thousand Oaks looked older - the structure, the building. Everything looked more tired. The apartments looked adequate and the facilities were all OK, but it didn't impress me. They had a library and a dining area, they had exercises and Bible studies. They would take you to doctor's appointments and shops. The staff was excellent. Everybody was nice and they did a good job of promoting their place.

The tour I had at the Waterford at Thousand Oaks was nice. The lady that did the tour was amazing. She was very good and very knowledgeable. She knew what she was talking about and answered all our questions. The rooms were adequate. The two-bedroom that we saw looked nice. We're looking at a two-bedroom, two bath, and they showed us a two-bedroom, one bath, but based on that we could make it work. They seemed to do a very good job with the maintenance. We could see the personnel working around a hall there. Everything they gave you for the price was very, very good. Their dining area was really nice. It had chandeliers, and the cafeteria personnel seemed to be very good at exchanging with the residents.

I did a tour of The Waterford at Thousand Oaks, and I was not impressed with them at all. It was clean and airy, but I just didn't like the layout. I toured a 1-bedroom apartment, and it was extremely small. There was absolutely no kitchen because they furnish cooked meals, three meals a day. They had a little RV refrigerator. When you walk in, they didn't have a lobby to walk into. You walk into a cafeteria. There was no welcoming lobby with a desk or anything. You just walk into everybody eating. I wouldn't like to be eating, and everybody walking in on me. The staff who gave me the tour was a five. I had nothing against the staff. They had housekeeping several times a week, maybe three times. I didn't like that. It was invasive to me, and my brother wouldn't like that either. Everything was OK. I just didn't like the size of the rooms and the layout of the building. My brother is a smoker. They had no convenient way of him sitting out to smoke. There was just a little porch thing right at the doorway. They did have a beauty salon that gave haircuts and stuff. They had rotating menus. It wasn't the same thing all week long. They did good there.

We toured The Waterford at Thousand Oaks, and it was very nice and clean. I was able to see two rooms with different floor plans. The staff gave me a nice tour. They had different rooms for the residents to do different activities like bridge, cards, and dominoes. There was also a library. It seemed very nice. That place wasn't going to work. It's across the street from the senior center. My dad likes to play bridge at the senior center so he wanted to be at the Waterford but its independent living and he's not independent.

I liked The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. They don't do personal laundry, but they do meals and weekly housekeeping. Our experience was very pleasant. There weren't any surprises. There was nothing I saw that would have prevented me from definitely considering that facility for my sister. The rooms were nice. The one-bedroom was very roomy and the largest studio was very nice. I saw the menu and it looked appetizing to me. There were several choices every day. They had bingo going on while I was there. They had a piano in the lobby. They have an exercise room, a hobby room, and a small library that they're redoing. The one disappointment to me was that there are no grounds to walk on. It's situated right on the edge of Thousand Oaks. There was a parking lot, the access street, and another parking lot in the back with just a tiny bit of green space. We'd like to see more green space where they could get out and walk. You have to provide your own furniture. You're renting an unfurnished studio or apartment that sits in the middle of parking lots. For someone that doesn't want to get out and walk around and can get their own furniture, I think it would be very nice. They were just putting down brand-new flooring and redoing some of the units. You can tell from the outside it's an older facility, but it looks to be clean and well-maintained.

We toured The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. It was nice. They have friendly residents there. The staff who toured us had a lot of information, and she was very, very friendly. She made us both feel at ease. One thing I like was that in the bathroom, they had an emergency cord. It was close to the bathtub in case somebody needed emergency help. Like right then and there, they can just pull that cord, so that was really good. The apartments were decent. There was one that was really big, but it was too big for my mom. There was one that was small, but it was too small for her. I thought maintenance was OK. They had some games going on. They had some crafts. They had a library. The dining area was spacious and clean.

I went to The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. It's in an area where there are lots of shopping centers and stuff. It was clean. They're doing a lot of construction on some of the units when we were there, so a lot of it was torn up, but as far as the cleanliness and the friendliness, it was fine. The staff during the tour was informative. She knew what she was talking about. I didn't see the food, but the dining area was just a big community area. It's like a big cafeteria, and it was decent. They have washing machines and a beauty salon, and they also have transportation available to take you to the stores and things like that. Every Friday, they take them to the movie theaters or they'll have plays or something going on at the facility.

I’ve had loved ones in MANY different communities in the San Antonio & New Braunfels area. I’m so thankful for the staff at The Waterford. I've been consistently blown away by the caring & considerate employees. I wish I’d have known about this community for my other family members who were in various other residences. I’ve seen many things at places that always made me feel badly about my loved ones’ situations. I’d want to pull them out, but with their needs, I couldn’t. The Waterford is different. So incredibly different. From the moment we entered I felt supported, heard, and cared for as a caregiver. What they offer to residents socially, I have never experienced. I’ve stayed during activities because it’s fun for me too! What they offer emotionally & physically is remarkable. I’ve told them numerous times I’d live there NOW without needing to-in a heartbeat I! I love them so much. They make everything comfortable, fun, & supportive for not just the residents, but their families.

Our family member moved to The Waterford at Thousand Oaks during the pandemic. The staff here is outstanding. They went out of their way to keep the residents safe, get them vaccinated on-site, and provide education and access for having virtual meetings. The staff turnover is low, with many employees having been there for years. We felt the staff genuinely cared about our family member as a person. Many times they went above and beyond to provide more care for our family member than you would expect in an independent living facility. Great, caring people, from the food staff to housekeeping to transportation and front desk. Recently sold, the facility is undergoing renovations that will make it an even nicer place for its residents. We wouldn't hesitate to have another family member or ourselves move there.

I am currently staying at The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. The people are very nice, and everyone tries to help each other. The worst thing is the food. Our director has two homes she's taking care of. So she cannot take care of one as well as she did before because she's running two places. They have an entertainment director here. They do arts and crafts and go out to eat once in a while. They have games, bingo, and church activities. They try to maintain the facility's upkeep. They are short-staffed right now. We have two elevators, and one doesn't work. But the facility is accessible and easy enough to get around. We have 24-hour staff, so there's always someone that you can reach.

I've been at The Waterford at Thousand Oaks for almost two years now. I love it here. The people are very friendly. The staff is wonderful. I like the food, and the cooks are good. I've had no problem whatsoever. They've always been very, very nice to me. I come out every day and meet with friends. All the people behind the desk and the waitresses are very friendly. They are capable and want to do everything that they can to help you. I'm just real pleased here. I didn't want to move from my home when my daughter wanted me to, but as soon as I got here, I've enjoyed every minute of it. We had horseracing. We have dominoes, bingo, and Pokeno. We have happy hour, and they have people come and sing for us. I got to play Rummikub. They have a hairdresser that does our hair. I'm supposed to go and get my nails done in just a few minutes and I get my hair done every week. Just about anything that you'd like to do, they'll figure out a way to do it for you. I love to play dominoes and we've got a bunch of ladies together and started playing dominoes, which nobody ever played before, I think, until I came here. The activity director, Cindy, is really good. Right now, everything's kind of being updated. It's going to be really nice when they get through with it. It was beautiful when I first looked at it so if it's gonna be better than that, it's gonna be really good. There are more activities than I can do, and I enjoy all of them. They're very good. They keep everybody busy. Anybody that wants to do something can do something. When people come to sing and things like that, they try to get everybody out. It's really good. If you want to do it, you can do it. I'm getting my money's worth.

I often volunteer at this location helping the Activities Director with activities for the residents. Cynthia works endlessly to engage the residents with everyday activities, but not just activities- she helps fill their lives with fun, laughter, dancing and activities to keep them feeling young and important. I have NEVER seen so many residents express their love and appreciation for one individual. I definitely get a boost of joy when I am blessed to volunteer at The Waterford of Thousand Oaks with Cynthia.

I have been volunteering at the Waterford at Thousand Oaks for almost a year now. It started because I was going to the senior citizens community across the street and I felt I wanted to do more so I came on over spoke to Cindy the Activities Director and I became a volunteer. My days are Tuesdays for arts and crafts and Fridays for happy hour. I have become friends with many of the residents here and I know how much they enjoy living here. It not a fancy place with a swimming pool or spa but they have built a family environment where everyone cares about each other. I feel at home here and I know when it's time for me to move into a senior community this is my first choice. I think this place is wonderful all the staff is so kind and generous with their time. They know everyone's name, what apartment they live in. Their likes and dislikes. I look forward to coming every week. But I have to say my favorite thing to do there is arts and crafts. I did not realize I could do some of things we have done. You should go to their Facebook page and see for yourself some of the things that go on at the Waterford. I would give this community a 10 star review if I could.

I'm at The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. We have a young man, JJ, and he's the driver and he does maintenance and whatever we need. He's such a hardworking and a very nice human being. I've been here almost one year, and I like this young man so much. He drives us to the doctor or to the store and whatever little things we need done in our room or apartment, he always does it well and with pleasure, always with a smile on his face. I like The Waterford so much. I've gained 30 pounds since I've been here because we get three meals a day and we have a waitress serving. Of course, I like company. There are around 100 people here, and it's very nice. It's independent living. However, we get meals, they clean our room or apartment once a week and change our beds. It has lots of extra things. The food is decent. Every day, they have a special, but you can always order from the regular menu. This is Texas, so there's a lot of Tex-Mex which I've never had in my life. I'm from Europe and I eat fresh fish every day, so many times I just order fish and vegetables for my meal if I don't think I'm going to like whatever they have for the special, which is really a nice thing. You have the freedom to choose whatever you feel like having. It's like a restaurant with ala carte menu and then a special daily. They're doing exercises, we paint, and we do crafts. There's a lady who is in charge of the crafts and outings. They have a regular car and a mini bus, so people can go on outings. It's a gated community, but it's so beautiful with nice trees and flowers. I have a one-bedroom apartment, but some people only have a bedsitter. There are also two bedrooms and one bathroom and a couple of two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Lately, they're doing lots of restoration, so it's kind of a mess. They're going to improve the place. They already took the carpets out and they did flooring and the place painted so it will be very nice. It's just that it's taken a while. The dining room already has a new flooring and they finished the flooring in the hallway where I live yesterday. I understand they're going to put new furniture everywhere, although what they have is pretty decent. The people here are A+. I was just so impressed how caring the people are, from the lady who cleans the public places, to the ladies who cleans our rooms, to the reception, the chef, everybody. It's like they were chosen to be in this place. They are amazing. We have different rooms. We have a humongous library and an exercise room. We do many different things every day of the week. We had horseraces yesterday, which was so much fun. It's a great value for money. I saw a couple of other places that were much more expensive and I didn't feel at home and I felt like I should be dressing up in the evening to go downstairs for dinner. Here, it is more casual, like today is a Blue Day. If we dress up in blue, we can play for free. The lady is so talented and she always comes up with a great idea.

We went to The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. They didn't have the facilities other than just the basic care. I'm sure they had security and they had accommodations, but it was very scaled back. The lady that took us around was very personable. The problem was they were in the middle of redecorating. The carpeting in the hall was all pulled back and it was just concrete on the floor. It was smaller. The main place where the people were gathering was much smaller, there were a lot of people in wheelchairs there, and there wasn't too much room. I would say it's more apartment living. It's right on Thousand Oaks. If you're ambulatory, all you have to do is cross the street, and there's a bunch of stuff there as far as -- the Wal-Mart is there and several restaurants. There wasn't any pool. I saw the laundry room where you would do your laundry, and the apartment that they showed us was very small, and it was a two bedroom. It was more like a kitchenette, it didn't have a refrigerator, it didn't have a stove. They had a microwave, but the apartment that she showed us was right on the end, and she described it as having a patio outside. All we saw was the sidewalk, and on the other side was the driveway. There were cars headed into there, and so you were just sort of looking out on a bunch of cars that were about ten feet away. So it just wasn't what we felt like we wanted to get into.

We're waiting for an opening at The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. We took a tour and my brother liked it. We chose this place because of the location, it's close to where my mom and I live. There's a senior center right across the street from that, and it's in an area where the traffic is not crazy. It's very nice inside, the people seem very nice and very caring. They give you three meals a day and two snacks, and they have lots of activities for them. if you need transportation, they have transportation so it's very nice. Everything's included in the price, you don't have to worry about cable and the internet and utilities. You pay one price for everything so it's very convenient. It had different floor plans. My brother just wanted a studio and they had shown us a nice studio that is fit for him with a big bathroom with the handles, and a call button. They have a call button in each room and the studio is one room with a bathroom and a little kitchenette. So he'll have one in by his bed or where he's sitting, and then also in the bathroom. So it's nice. It's independent but if something happens, they can get him help right away. There's help if he needs it, but he can leave and go wherever he wants and be still independent. The staff members were very nice, very helpful, and answered any questions that we had. The facility was very clean and very well well-kept. They were doing a transition, they were cleaning up the one that we got to tour. Somebody already rented it, but they were removing carpets and putting the hardwoods down, and they were doing the painting and fixing anything need to be fixed. It had been very well taken care of, and she said if there are any problems, all you have to do is let them know and they'll take care of it.

My mother is a resident of The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. It's an older facility, but everybody who works there is so kind and generous with their time. My mother seems to be one of the younger and more abled people, but she's really enjoying just sharing her stories with everybody. In terms of amenities, they really don't have much. There's no pool or anything, but it's more about the community. My mother really likes everybody there. She did not like the newer facilities that she stepped into. She felt it was like Las Vegas, loud and showy. The Waterford was more at home. It felt like a family immediately. I felt like there could have been more amenities, but my mom is happy with just the people. It is definitely a good place for her, and she feels comfortable (which is awesome). The staff is very accommodating and very responsive. She gets three meals a day in part of her pay. She cooks herself. In her place, she has a half kitchen. She is really enjoying the food, and she's putting on weight (which is great).

My tour at The Waterford at Thousand Oaks was very good. Everybody that assisted me was very helpful. They gave me all the information I needed, and if I had any additional questions afterwards, they probably emailed me back or contacted me. What it really comes down to is my father; it wasn't one of my father's favorites, so... The facilities were all very nice and well-kept. The one thing that we didn't necessarily care for as much was the kitchenettes, but they'll be provided with three meals. It wasn't necessary, because my father is still at a point where he likes to go out and get food, or make his own food.

We visited The Waterford at Thousand Oaks, and it's a very small community, so they all know their residents. They are very welcoming, and they have a very nice facility. They serve food, and they have three meals a day, so they don't have a full kitchen. The rooms have a nice, good space, and they're very well kept. They have nice activities for their residents. They have bingo, and they have a lot of activities. I just remember that they gave us a list, and they publish it monthly. They have something every single day, they have one or two things that they provide. The staff is very friendly, very warm, and they knew all the names of the residents. They talk to them, they ask them questions about how this and that is doing, and how is everything taken care of. There are very caring with their clients.

The Waterford at Thousand Oaks was very nice and very clean. The staff seemed like they were good with the clients. They were pretty nice. The apartments were beautiful. They have everything but no pool. They have a beauty salon, a religious service room, and a dining room. It was just set up very nice and it felt homey.

I was very hesitant to move from my home of 48 years to a retirement community, but moving into the Waterford at Thousand Oaks has been one of the best decisions my family and I made. They made me feel welcomed and the other residents were very nice. They had everything I needed and as things changed they did everything today keep taking care of me. They keep my family up to date whenever things happen and treat my family as nicely as they do me. The people at the Waterford Thousand Oaks are some of the best parts of living here, and they are more like family now.

They truly go over and beyond and wanted to say THANK YOU!!! Anyone with a family member that is looking to move to the Waterford at Thousand Oaks, I cannot express how amazing this place has been to my family and my mother. Prices are perfect for all the food, housekeeping, and most importantly someone is always there. They have activities, the rooms are perfect and the staff goes over and beyond.

My mother-in-law is a resident of The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. It's definitely independent living, so the staff's involvement is more with the three meals they provide a day, and the front desk. They come over and talk to the residents, or just check on them. I've had some issues with my mother-in-law not really getting involved without some encouragement. So I talked to the staff, they're great at helping me by having other residents who they think would fit well with my mother-in-law, to come by and introduce themselves then invite her to do things. Everybody was super friendly. When she first moved in, there were some things she needed adjusted in the apartment. She called the maintenance, then went down for lunch, and by the time she came back immediately it was all fixed. They were right on top of things. Among the places we've seen, this one fits our budget and offers tons of amenities. They have a separate company who have a little room there that if they needed physical therapy or extended care, they would help work with that. They have a day where they go to the grocery store, or to the nail salon, they have their own beauty shop for haircuts. And there are all kinds of classes, church services and crafts. For the price you're paying, you're not normally seeing anything remotely comparable anywhere with that price range.

My mom was a resident of The Waterford at Thousand Oaks, and we really like it there. It was very positive and friendly, and the staff was very caring. The community events they had there for the residents were excellent. It just had a really homey feel and my mom was really happy there. The grounds were very well-kept and the place is well-located. I equate my mother's apartment to a studio apartment, and it had a small refrigerator, microwave and a sink. So it's has a very small kitchenette, not really anything you could cook on but it was comfortable for my mother.

We moved to The Waterford, which is being remodeled. Everybody has been extremely helpful and very friendly. The dining area is nice and large, and has assigned seating with four to a table. The food is excellent; they give you good choice of meals, and if you don't like the daily special, they give you something else. They have a bus that takes us to Walmart 2x a week and to the doctors.

The staff at the Waterford at Thousand Oaks was very helpful and very kind. Right away, they accepted me as one of them. They were very accepting -- especially the back office -- and they were ready to sign me up. The room was a very good size, and it was just beautiful. Everything was so new. The carpeting, even the laminate flooring, was beautiful. It had a kitchenette, and it was just beautiful that I think any person would have loved to live in that kind of environment. And the activities were wonderful, so I wish I could have stayed there. I fell in love with it.

The Waterford at Thousand Oaks had beautiful apartments, but it wasn’t as homey as other ones. The residents could put a wreath on their door, but they couldn’t really decorate the outside. It looked brand new and was at least 10 or 15 years old. The food was good. They were very friendly. I didn’t like that their fridges were tiny. They had big rooms and big living rooms, but small kitchenettes tht were more like a bar. It would have been nicer to have a bigger refrigerator and more cabinets for the kitchen area. Their library was tiny. They also had a TV room, but it was so tiny.

We visited The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. It was very nice, but the price was out of our budget. We would have loved to pick them because they were in our neighborhood. They did not have a model apartment for us to look at. We had to look at one that somebody was living in that was OK. It was a little awkward because there were people there. The dining area was beautiful.

The Waterford at Thousand Oaks is really nice, and it seemed like somewhere I want to live if I got pretty old. The staff is very friendly and seemed like they were eager to help me and my family out. The rooms are not very spacious, but it seemed very nice. Everything is really nice. If I were to put my grandfather in a home, that's where I'll put him. I thought the price could be a little bit less, but maybe I just didn't experience everything that they had so maybe their price is right. It wasn't too expensive, but I felt like it could be a little bit lower.

I was very impressed with The Waterford at Thousand Oaks. It was very clean. It was very uplifting. Everybody seemed to be happy and in a good mood. It was a very good experience there. The rooms were very nice, very kept up, and very clean. I’m sure my mom would thoroughly enjoy it there if we pursue that. With my limited exposure to them, they get a 5, I was very impressed with it. They had lots of activities. They were going on with bingo, and they showed us several rooms where they have a pet rally for the Spurs, arts and crafts, a library, and things like that. I was very impressed with everything.

The Waterford was a really nice facility. However, they did not have anything close to the size of the room accommodation that my mother was looking for. All they had was their smallest room -- which was right around 300 sq. ft. -- and they were not able to help us in saving any money as well. We were trying to see if we can get a room that would give her a little more space and also if we can save her some money, and they weren’t able to do either one. As far as everything else, the facility was very nice, everybody was very nice, and they gave me an opportunity to look at their menu and their restaurant style dining and to also talk to the other residents. The residents there were very happy, and it’s a really nice place. It just did not meet our mother’s criteria. This is a very good location for seniors because it’s nestled right in the middle of just a lot of businesses where I can see that a bus ride or even a van ride there wouldn’t be a very long ride. Across the street is a grocery store, and down the road are a dollar store and a bank. They’re really in a very nice location where all the amenities that people really need at their convenience are right there.

We visited The Waterford for my mother. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The entrance was very open, and airy. I enjoyed the lunch. I met with some of the staff, and some of the residents. I liked the room choices. The facility was expensive, but reasonably-priced. Overall, it may be next to the top-pick for my mom. They had a recreational director, too. At that time, we walked in on a group that was learning about the iPad. Somebody would come in once a week, and give a class on that. They would take you to medical appointments, too.

I love The Waterford and has everything I need. Transportation is very good, and they have a lot of activities, which I like. The staff is very helpful and has always been very considerate. Sometimes I don't like the food because it's something I don't like orI don't like the way it's made, but for the most part, it's OK. Living in a community where there are many people, you can't satisfy everybody all the time. I like the different choices offered; they do an ala-carte menu in addition to their daily menu. I've been in three different apartments in this place. One was the smallest size they offer and was very comfortable when I first moved in, but I started needing more medical supplies and found it got cramped. The medium-sized one didn't have enough closet space, which was the only problem I had in that room. In the room I'm have now, the closet is very large, and there's also a coat closet, so there is plenty of space to store stuff. We play bingo twice a week and Pokeno once a week. They have a happy hour plus some other activity every Friday, transportation to church if you want to go, and transportation to Walmart and HEB once a week. They also have what they call quick errands twice a week, and you can go to the bank, the post office, to get your watch repaired, to one of those places to get your hemlines fixed, or other places like that. You can go almost anywhere. We have a walking group who walk inside the building because we have a lot of handicapped seniors and it is better for them to walk on a smooth surface. They walk the building and every hall three times a week. I would like a pool, but I don't think that's going to happen. We do use the community pool; we have access to it, I believe, three times a week. They'll transport us to the pool Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, or about three times a week when it's open during the season because it's an outside pool. They also have an exercise room available whenever you want to use it and exercise classes five days a week. You use it at your own risk, but we do have it. We have weights, bikes, and one of those walking machines.

The Waterford is a good community. It has excellent amenities and services. My mother's room is good, the staff is good, everybody is really good. It's just that she doesn't like it. We put her there because there's a life there. They have events, games, exercise, libraries, bingo, they take the elderly out, and even some residents have their own cars. Each resident has their own room, and they also have rooms for husbands and wives. They provide different rooms for different types of budgets. They have a suite that has a bedroom, a living room, and a little kitchen area. My mom is in one room that has a little refrigerator.

I had been out to The Waterford several times. It was a very nice place. I liked it and the apartments were really nice. The staff was helpful and friendly. The food was very good. I liked the amount of activities they had because there were a lot of things to choose from. There was something to do every day out there. They had parties all the time for various occasion and I had been invited to all their events. They brought a lot of outside people for entertainment. However, the community was not familiar with me at all because I lived in the opposite direction. I would not consider living there because it was too far from where I lived. I don't know the area and I don't think I would be comfortable out there.
