My father is in Rockport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and he is coming home tomorrow. It's a good facility. We don't have any complaints. The only complaint we had is after he came back from dialysis, he was hungry, and they didn't have food that he liked. He doesn't eat peanut butter, and they usually have peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches. That was the only drawback. Otherwise, it's a good facility. He has a nice room, and his bed is right there by the window where he can see the birds. We haven't had any problems. I don't think he participated in any of the activities. It just wasn't anything he was interested in doing. He has very good therapists there. The men seem to do better with him than the women just because they tend to push him a little harder to do stuff. If the women were doing it, and he started to fall, they probably could not hold him, but the men have no trouble. It's just a strength thing. I have to buy his food and take it up there. The food is horrible.

had my mom there , it was horrible. The facility always smelled of urine. Most of the staff would avoid eye contact with you and rarely spoke. They were extremely unfriendly. Meal time was horrible and activities were limited. They did have bingo, but the caller was so fast that most of the residents couldn't keep up. Got her out of there as fast as possible.

I looked into all three Rockport nursing facilities and Oak Crest Nursing Center treated me and my family the best.

This is very clean facility. The unit is brightly lite and cheerful. The nurses are very concerned about the residents and act that way. They are quick to tell the family of any concerns and offer suggestions to help the resident adjust. I have not felt unwelcome to come visit at any time, and have never come at a time when it has not been clean, or the residents were not receiving what appears to be very good care.

My family member did not receive very good care. The facility was filthy!
