My mother is in memory care at Clayton Oaks Living. The people there are very nice. It's a very reasonable price with all the amenities that it comes with. The hospitals and the pharmacies are down the street. The location is really good for what my mom needs. For the price, you can't beat it. Compared to where I currently live, it's almost $1000 cheaper with more stuff that they offer my mother. Her room is a good size. It's a one-bedroom, like a suite. She has a restroom, a closet, and a TV. If you can't provide furniture, they provide it for you. They have a walking area and a patio. They have a section for all the residents to hang out in, like a big lobby with a big TV. They have activities in the lobby. It's nice. The staff is awesome, especially the nurses. The nurses take good care of my mom, always giving me calls if anything happens. They're very upfront about what's going on with her. They keep me informed and let me know everything. The food is not the best, but for what my mother needs because of her diabetes and stuff like that, it's good. They make sure that the food is good for her to eat health-wise. Ever since she's been there, her cholesterol, her diabetes, everything got better because she's eating a lot healthier. The taste is not the best, but she has to limit salt and that's what they make sure that they do. They cater to special diets.

Clayton Oaks Living was one of the places I did go on a tour by myself, and I liked it. It was very nice. They were very kind. They were awesome. It was a long walk for my parents. They would probably end up having to use walkers there. The long halls were the only thing. My parents have wheelchairs, too, so it would have been fine. It was clean, it was neat, and it was presented well. The staff who gave the tour was amazing. She was even willing to come to the house to talk to my parents. She was probably the best tour guide person that I've ever seen. The dining area was nice. The movie theater they had there was really cool. They have parties like once a month, and I know the residents would have a blast. They have a dancing party. Even the staff will go to it that night. They had a really good time and everything. And that was like one of the big highlights for me.

Clayton Oaks Living was excellent but expensive. I think it was too big, and we wanted something small for my mom, no more than six people. However, it was kind of a resort for seniors. I would like to live there. The staff were excellent. They're very informative, they have kept in contact with me quite often, and they're very nice. They had a salon, a massage parlor, a snack area, and a gift shop. The layout was very nice and very spacious. The cleanliness was excellent.

My loved one has been at this facility for over 3 years. He has had no issues but there is a new crew that has come in. The Director, Debbie, is forward, does not return calls, seems to be "all work" and no "care for people", and many of her changes are unwelcomed. If it is not broken, fixing it, will break it.

The Clayton Oaks Living place was very nice. The individual that took me around was very informative to me and showed me different things they have there. It was very pleasant. The staff members were nice. I wish the closet was a little bit more, but the rooms were nice. It was a great place. I have no complaints and no negativity about it. The dining area was nice, kind of restaurant style. They were doing something, they were playing bingo when I went through there. Overall, it's a good location and I liked the cleanliness.

My mother is moving into Clayton Oaks Living. It's convenient. I think it's the perfect fit for my mother, and it's conveniently located near my residence. The staff is very nice, very cooperative, and very helpful. I think that they really care, and they're very well organized. The landscape is very nice. The interior of the building is very nice. I like the amenities that they have for the residents. It's a four-star organization, I really like it. They have crafting, they have activities for the residents, they have a movie theater indoors, and a very nice dining area.

Clayton Oaks Living was very nice. The business development girl that took me through was very nice and very efficient. It's a little older facility, but it's still very nicely kept. It seemed bigger to me and was very spread out, but they have assisted living in there too. It was a clean facility. They had a nice dining area for the residents with a kind of restaurant feel, right in the center of the facility. They had nice courtyards. I didn't try the food. The rooms were decent sized. It seemed like everybody was in their rooms. I didn't see too much activity going on. The rooms were very nice and more like little apartments. A lot of them had the doors opened on them, so you could see the residents inside, and they seemed very happy. Their TVs were on, and it looked like their own personal pieces of furniture were in there. The rooms were laid out nicely, but I didn't see a lot of them wandering around or out and about. We were on the lull of Covid before it started spiking again here in Texas. I think these people have just gotten so used to being confined to their rooms because of Covid. It looked like a pleasant atmosphere.

My mom moved into Clayton Oaks Living. She is doing good and adjusting quite well. They have a recreational center, and she's playing bingo, she's painting, coloring, and doing things that she didn't use to do. She eats everything when before she will just eat certain things. So, the less the kids are involved, the better she does. When we're not around, she participates more. The staff is good. She had a couple of falls, and they were quick to call me and report it and they checked her out; she wasn't hurt or anything. I asked them to look at her more, they do the rounds twice every two hours at night. They also do bed checks and I told them to please monitor her every hour, and so they have been doing that. She has a nice room. It's a studio apartment but because it's memory care, she doesn't have a refrigerator or anything in there. They bring them out to eat together. We took her furniture, and her bedroom, and everything was set up nicely so she can feel a little bit more like she's at home. This place is closest to the family. It's easy to get to and it's very nice. My brother took my mother to visit the assisted living and it's luxurious in that part. They have a dog groomer, a beauty salon, and a barbershop. The meals are very enticing. My mother had some shrimp linguine, and she never eats shrimp, so we were shocked. They have patios, a gazebo, and they have several seating areas with shade. And the courtyard is very nice. My mother has a view of the courtyard from her bedroom and that's nice to see. They are upgrading and remodeling some areas. Their entrance is very, very nice and very beautiful. She was just there two weeks, and they already know who she is, and they know who I am, so I thought that was pretty cool. When we were moving around there from the rehab place that she was, I happen to tell the director that we hadn't eaten, and we were very hungry. They brought us food for my brother and me. It was a nice turkey sandwich, chips, and everything, and it was good. They didn't have to do that, but they did. When I toured, they had singing and dancing. But for the memories here, they're more closely monitored. They do have the beach ball for them to move around, and they play bingo, they paint and do flower arrangements. They keep it pretty active and busy, and they keep that on a schedule, so, when they take them back to their room, they can take a nap and then they go out back to the recreation room. We had her in this rehab place, and it was a lot more expensive, but it was not a very good place as far as cleanliness and everything. We're paying a lot less here, so we're very happy. And for what they're doing for her, I think that's a very good one.

We chose Clayton Oaks for my mother. At this point in time, she has been unable or minimally able to do any of the activities. Initially she was quarantined, and then her mobility is a real challenge. So far, I'm not aware that she has participated in any of the activities. I'm hoping that in another three-to-four weeks she is a little more confident, maybe her mobility is improved, and she is able to do some of those things. About all I can tell she's done is to go down to the library and look at some books. She has been a very ardent reader, and really that's about it. She hasn't had dinner, lunch, or breakfast in the eating area. She may have been to the bistro, but that probably was just on day one when they were waiting to get her room ready, having things delivered, and the like. The staff has been good. I don't have any complaints at this point. It's been good. The nursing director has been attentive, and I think they've done an above average or more than acceptable job so far.

I moved my mom to Clayton Oaks 4 months ago. Despite all the hardships of the pandemic, my mom has gotten outstanding care. Everyone on the staff is so friendly and helpful. If there is ever a concern that I have about my mom, it is addressed immediately which is greatly appreciated. My mom loves the food and enjoys the activities which keep her busy during the day. I like that Clayton Oaks is relatively small. It is easy for my mom to get around from one area to another and it is easier for everyone to get to know each other. So thankful for all the care and attention my mom receives at Clayton Oaks.

We seriously regret putting our father here. It may look nice, but your parent will not get good care. We thought this would be a safe place, but the staff is untrained, unsympathetic, and constantly changing. The call system does not work properly. My Dad would keep pushing his button and wait for an hour for someone to come help him. They allow untrained caregivers to administer medicine, and there are many medication errors! In Memory Care, residents are left lying in bed in dirty clothes and diapers. Many residents have fallen and broken bones. Cameras in the room witnessed the neglect. Clayton Oaks had a serious COVID outbreak and at least nine residents tested positive, and many staff members. I would never recommend this place to anyone. It is a tough decision you are making, don't make the wrong one. Your parents deserve better.

Clayton Oaks Living had assisted living and memory care. It's excellent, but it's a little larger and my mother was very confused at that time. I felt she'd get lost more. They had numerous enclosed outdoor areas, that the residents could go out in. They were pet friendly. It's a beautiful facility with a patio and an actual dog park. The food was excellent. I had a friend who lived there for a while. They had a lot of activities, a fantastic auditorium with little plays, and they had a lot of entertainment. I would highly recommend it.

Don’t let the beautiful facade of the building fool you! For inside it’s walls you will find the rot of greed and the stench of apathetic management from the director’s office. Specifically, Raymond’s management of the Med Techs and their extremely high turnover rate for these positions are a life and death issue that he will talk in circles about for hours while our family members suffer immensely. Instead of hiring experienced Med Techs, the person emptying the trash this week may very well be administering life saving medications to to your loved one next week. Of course these inexperienced housekeepers (”med techs”) are going to make serious mistakes that will affect the health your love one. ZERO STARS even though I had to give them one to be able to post this message! BE AWARE!

It is the most difficult decision in life when you realize that your parent needs more care than you can provide. My sister and I visited EVERY memory care facility in Sugarland. I am a health care professional and still walked out of every one of these facilities crying. The smells, the lack of cleanliness and empathy tore me apart. We were incredibly fortunate to find Clayton Oaks. They care for our mother, stimulate her menatally and the from the caregivers up into the administration have become loving members of our family. They provide human love and compassion. I visit my mother daily and never walk into this facility feeling depressed. My mother has developed so many new friendships. And I have truly fallen in love with the other residents as well as the staff. - Marti Taylor. Sugarland

The new life activities manager, Diane, is absolutely fantastic!!! She's only been there several months, and has already put on a costumed & set decorated play in their beautiful theater, tead by the residents, complete wirh a live Toto dog & piano music!! She coordinated a dog show in the beautiful courtyard area, puts on monthly theme driven family invited dinners, complete with the servers in costumes & decorations from Mexico, Hawaii, US Patriotic, etc. Her Football Father's Day interactive event was a big hit. She offers some very interesting and different activities for the residents, along with the usual ones. She has really classed up Clayton Oaks with her wonderful ideas and frequently changed decorations throughout the facility. Morale of the residents has been boosted along with the staffs' largely because of her efforts & bubbly personality. Residents and family members love Diane because she is available, and truly cares about them and how she can make their lives at Clayton Oaks interesting, active and happy!

We went to Clayton Oaks Living, but we did not like it. A lady met us at the door who was a resident, and we were like, "Hi! How are you?" and she kept saying, "I had been here too long. I had been here too long." We did not see anyone except her. It was concerning. The price was much higher. I spoke to the staff and took a tour, but I just did not care for the facility because everyone was in their room. The facility was great, but the residents weren't out of the room. I did not want my mom to be there because I felt that it was like a jail. The only resident that we saw was the one who was trying to get out. It did not matter how nice the facility was, but if the people that were there were not similar to my mom, I would not leave her there. We saw a one-bedroom unit, and it was fine. We saw the main hall and the courtyard where they could go outside, but I did not see any people there other than the staff.

My husband is in the memory care of Clayton Oaks, and he's doing well there. They're doing a good job. It's absolutely topnotch. He has his own room; they have 25 rooms for memory care and a large assisted living of about 100. They're very family oriented, they have a family dinner once a month, and they have a wonderful chef. The owner comes often, checks on things, and talks to the residents.

We placed my mother-in-law in Clayton Oaks a little over a month ago. They have more space than most of the places we saw and have three courtyards, an activity room, an arts and crafts room, and a huge theater. Their dining room is nice. They have a family dinner once a month that residents can invite all of their family to dine with them. They had one last night with Mexican food, like a Mexican fiesta night. They allow us to eat there anytime we want to eat there. The food is very good. They have a very simple menu that they can order off every day, but they also have daily specials.

Clayton Oaks is very nice and well done because it’s been only open for a year. This is the only community that I would give 5 stars. Everything is new, and they have assisted living and memory care. The food is very good, and they have a beautiful dining room, like a five-star hotel. It is very nice. The rooms are fine and all decorated beautifully by designers, so naturally they all look great.

Clayton Oaks is absolutely gorgeous! It is brand new. You walk in and there’s a huge fireplace, and everything is just beautiful. I was very, very impressed with the place. The staff had an excellent work attitude. I visited for about an hour and walked around. They have a huge movie theater where they show old movies and where residents can put on plays. There’s a workout gym and a bistro area that’s stocked with yogurt, fruit, popcorn, coffee, and all kinds of drinks 24 hours a day. They have a laundry facility where you can pay to get your laundry done or do your own. They have a little dog area where you can take your pet out for a walk in a small park. They had huge crossword puzzles on the walls that the residents can solve. They have wine and beer in the dining hall. They don’t sell the alcohol, but if you want a glass of wine or a beer before dinner, it’s allowed. They have chefs who cook the meals, and you can choose what you want to eat from a menu.
