My mother was at Brookdale Northshore. The food was great. The staff was wonderful except for one. My mother's room was pretty spacious and not quite as dated. It was a nice apartment, and she had a garage. The biggest downfall there was the bugs. It was just terrible. They said they had sprayed, but apparently whatever they used didn't work because it was terrible. They had bingo, they had puzzles out for everybody to use, and they went on outings, and I even went on one. Activities were the good part. My mom forgot that there were supposed to be two months' notice, not 30, but they were very understanding, and they were good people. Larry is nice, and he's the manager. They had a lot of activities, but the bug thing was the biggest problem, and the expensive rent. Most of everybody was just wonderful. The bug thing was a big deal but I'm going to give them a four because of how wonderful the manager was and everything that they did.

This is a well maintained facility with a caring staff. They have built a community where residents are able to socialize, feel the independence they still crave and still give them a sense of being looked after at this stage in their life. My mom is truly enjoying her stay there and it is giving us a huge sense of peace that she is happy and in a good place. Yes, the units are smaller than the home mom had before, but she needs small, cozy and friends close by to visit.

I was impressed with Brookdale Northshore. It had an attached garage in one story, so that will help me in a wheelchair a lot. The staff was great and very nice. The facility was super clean. The first room that we looked at was a one-bedroom without a garage. It was just too small, and I felt like I was in a cage. I liked the one with the attached garage and the bigger one-bedroom. Your face would be on the TV because they're just too small. The kitchen, living room, and bathroom are in one room.

Brookdale Northshore was awesome, and it was all on one floor. It had nice floor plans, and there were game rooms all over the place. The grounds, the rooms, the hallways, the dining facility, and everything was beautiful. They were very friendly. I like it very much. The staff was wonderful and the place was beautifully maintained. They had a lot of socialization, and they had a good variety of food. There were lots of little spots for social gathering, a multipurpose area, and a variety of living rooms. They had little cottages that you could get and most of the apartments had a little patio.

Brookdale Northshore had cleaned up after a hurricane and they did remarkably well. However, it was too claustrophobic for me. When I arrived they just had a crash program. Appearance wise it looked very nice from the ourside and felt welcoming. What I didn't like were the long corridors. The backyard outside the patio doors was only eight feet of grass. As soon as I opened up the door, I was staring at a dog from across the way and it was too close, no privacy, and that was my main objection.

Brookdale Northshore didn't give any care; it was just a place for my mom to live. Her experience there was bad. She was in independent living in an OK apartment, but when she got sick, no one would come to see her. She had a call button, but they still didn't come to see her because she didn't have a paid care professional.

We really liked Brookdale. They have two-bedroom options, as well as a separate cottage with a garage where you can park your car. My mother liked it, and preferred it.

Brookdale Northshore is a beautiful place that looks like a resort. It’s gorgeous. However, I don’t like the way everybody is next to each other in one building. They did have some cottages, but there was a long waiting list for them, and they took people who are living in the main building first. I did try the food; it was a late lunch, and I was not impressed with the food. Everything was so overcooked.

I live in Brookdale Northshore. I chose it because I live in Portland, and I do not want to move very far. My room is small for me, and I think their food can be better. However, it is a pretty good place. I like it here, though I do not have much room, and the food is not very good.

We visited Brookdale, and it was very nice. The people there were very helpful, and they invited us for lunch. They made a great impression on the neighbor we were trying to help. It was very pleasant. The people there were very welcoming. The rooms were comfortable. We went in a one-bedroom off on the hallway. It was all on one floor. The dining room was fine. She was able to take out the food that she wanted, and she said that she was happy with it. She was interested in the card playing, the puzzles, the general socialization, anything outdoors, and being driven to places. The only the was the costs. We had to find something within her price range, but I was impressed with the independence that she could have in her own place. She could pretty much do everything that she wanted. It wasn't like she was sharing a room or anything. It seemed perfectly safe for her.

Brookdale Northshore was very nice. It was a beautiful facility. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about their facility. The rooms were pleasant. Their dining room was very nice. It was like a restaurant environment, and those who were not able to dine or were in a wheelchair had wait staff that would assist them with their food and would take their order. It impressed me that when I first went in, it seemed like you were walking in a hotel. It was a very nice facility, and you would not feel like it was an institution at all. It had a very homey feel to it. I knew they had different activities every day. They had outside activities. They had lunch bunch, movies, bingo, card games, arts & crafts, and different things. Everything seemed to be fine.

Brookdale Northshore was great. The rooms were nice, and they had numerous activities. They have nursing on staff, and the staff was awesome there. It was nice. We didn't try the food, but it looked good. The rooms were fairly large. They have several different sizes like studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom. It was really a good facility.

This is the best senior living facility we could ever hope to find. If you want first class, red carpet treatment for your loved ones, go talk to them. They will make you feel like family!

I can not begin to express the appreciation I have for this community. My parents moved in about 7 years ago. It is so nice to know that not only do they take care of their residents but they love and care for them. Jennifer, the executive director and her staff work hand in hand and everyday they make a difference in someone's life. I Highly recommend this community for anyone looking for "the best" for their loved one.
