My husband was in skilled nursing in The Crossings Retirement Community. I was not able to see him for about a month due to COVID. The rehabilitation staff has remained the same. It's the same people, but the turnover was shocking during the last stay, nearly no one is still there. They're using contract workers to fill in the gaps. I was a little disappointed in the rehab process system, which surprised me. The food was wonderful there. The people were certainly nice enough. It was clean, it had different halls for different levels of care. Their long-term care is twice the price of any other facility. When I asked them why, they said because they are the best facility in the area, which is probably true. They can charge it and people are willing to pay it. The facility is pretty, the rooms are huge. They have the opportunity for church services on Sunday. It's a Methodist facility. There's a lot of opportunity to work on puzzles, there's a common area where people can leave the room and come eat together. The interaction between patients was done either in the hall or in the common eating area. They had a trick-or-treat party where they lined people in wheelchairs up in the halls and children were allowed to trick or treat, and the residents were able to pass out candy. The residents and the kids had a blast.

The staff lacks severely in communication skills. Abraham, a director, does not seem to care about the welfare of the residents and the treatment his staff provides. When issues are brought to his attention, he takes offense and does nothing to correct the problems. His lack of caring, dismissal of legitimate complaints and concerns coupled with an inept staff compromise the care given to the residents. I would highly not recommend The Crossings.

I liked that The Crossings has an all licensed staff and 24-hour nursing care available, but it was not homey at all. It was like a hospital hotel, so it was very quiet. They had a very big and active independent living, but the assisted living only had 32 apartments. We didn't see anybody when we were there. The price was really high and was the most expensive one we looked at. For my mother, it would have been $5,200 a month. I met some staff who were very friendly, very professional, and seemed very knowledgeable. They had a very high-end clientele in their independent living facility. The dining room and the meals were more like a 5-star hotel. The assisted living gots the same kitchen and same food. It's brand new, extremely clean, and nice.

The Crossings was nice, but it was a lot pricier and a little bit busier. My boss wanted something more private. The rooms are more apartment-style.

The Crossings is brand new, so everything is beautiful. The staff members were very professional in giving me the tour. But I did not speak with the Director because she was not there. I just spoke with somebody else that just works there. It seemed like they had a lot of activities. They were playing Bingo, and I did see the one-on-one activities with some of the staff helping some of the residents. The facility was very nice, and they had a lot of services. They have a restaurant on-site where guests can go and a rehabilitation center, which was nice, with all the equipment. Like I said, it’s brand new so everything was very new and very clean, and the grounds were pretty.

Of all the places I’ve visited, I really liked The Crossings. It was very modern and new. I liked the whole community. The staff was very friendly.
