My best friend's mom was at Brookdale Lohmans Crossing for a year. It was really good. I liked it. I took care of her when she was there. She had her nurses come and bring her medicines. If I needed them for whatever reason, I would call them. When the staff members see you, they say hi. If you needed anything, you could count on anyone to help you and bring you whatever you needed. They were just really nice. I would see them with other people, and everybody liked them. Everybody knew them. My friend's mom had her own keys. She could go in and out. The food was great. You could just get what you wanted. You could eat it there in the lunchroom or take it to your room. They had puzzles, bingo, a craft room, happy hours, movies, and a church. It was all great. They're too expensive for old folks. Another thing is that you can have your pets there. Either you can take them walking, or the nurses will take them walking for you. There's a walking area where you can walk around the building. If you didn't have a vehicle, you could get on the bus and go grocery shopping or to the stores.

Brookdale Lohmans Crossing plans to do some updates. The carpets need to be done and some areas need to be repainted. Dad's room is very nice, and he is quite happy. He seems to be very pleased with the staff because they are all very nice and accommodating. They take a group of residents to a big band concert once or twice a month, which Dad enjoys. Dad has been very pleased with the food, and the dining area is quite nice.

I was able to visit Emeritus at Vista Oaks. It was good and nice. However, the facility was older and the rooms were small.

Caring staff and homelike atmosphere makes Vista Oaks our #1 choice for our mother. The leadership of Sharon N. is obvious. We are so happy with our decision.

Jennifer G. is an ourstanding Community Relations Director. She is so personable, informative and accomodating. She has certainly put my mind at ease and made me feel comfortable with our decision to move my mother to Vista Oaks.

We went to see the Emeritus at Vista Oaks when looking at assisted living facilities in the Austin area for our uncle. We could see immediately that they take very good care of the facility and its residents. The outer grounds were well kept. This is important to us since our uncle really enjoys being outdoors. He would appreciate all of the beautiful greenery. There are plenty of area for residents to picnic or just sit and enjoy the day. The community rooms were all nicely decorated and spacious. There is ample room to play games, socialize, watch TV or movies, read and participate in the many activities they offer. They also take the residents on many outings in the area - from cultural to shopping and dining. The dining room was lovely with ample space. They can reserve a private area for friends and family as well. The food looked appetizing -- and so did the snacks that are offered any time the residents like. The private living quarters were all well thought out and easy to navigate. Safety rails are on the bathroom walls and there is an emergency button in every room. Staff also regularly checks on residents throughout the day to see that their needs are met. There were many different types of residents - from walker to totally ambulatory and some that needed memory care assistance. They adjust their care levels accordingly and can accommodate most every kind of resident, which we liked. They can adapt to our uncle's needs as they arise. A very nice, comfortable home for seniors.
