We would have chosen Brookdale Kerrville but it is not a skilled nursing facility and that's the only reason we didn't because I loved Brookdale. I loved the staff, and I loved the number of people. It was really good. However, it lacked the accreditation of a skilled nursing facility. I met their director and their sales director, and both were lovely people. All the staff members were very friendly, kind and caring. The dining room was almost like a family-style dining room, which I cared for. That was nice. They make sure that whoever gets there gets grouped up with somebody to be their friend there. So that they have someone to go along with them that's already in the facility to show them the ropes, and I really like that idea. They seemed like a wonderful place. It was top-notch perfectly clean. It was a very nice facility.

We toured Brookdale Kerrville. I'm very new to this and I'm used to a lot of space, and it's possible that when I am finally ready for that type of living it will be just fun, but at the moment, it seems rather cramped. We looked at a studio and a 1-bedroom. They have a few 2-bedrooms, but nothing is available that we could look at. The layout was fine. The restroom and the kitchen were fine as well. Mainly, they just seem small. It is open and you could see out the windows. They had a patio outside, too. In the dining area, they were pretty much seated at tables for four. I had a meal there and I cannot eat most of it because I was allergic to it. However, my son was with me, and he said the food was okay. The place looked clean, neat, and tidy.

There weren't very many outdoor areas at Brookdale Kerrville except for the courtyard. The dining room was small and I didn't like that they had assigned seating at dinner time. Other than that, I liked their activities. They had a musician when I went there for the tour. They also had a salon and a nice courtyard. The rooms I looked at were lovely, too.

I visited Brookdale Kerrville for my father. It's very homey. The staff feels wonderful, it's just an interaction with them briefly. I had the tour and then I've been in this room getting it set up, that's about it. I've hardly walk around I guess because of Covid. I''ve seen them doing activity, they have a guy there that really seems wonderful, enthusiastic and very engaging with the residents. So I was very impressed with that. I've only just seen it like on the tour, one of the setting of the room. The plan was to move him tomorrow, but my mom didn't get his Covid test yesterday, so I think it's still gonna be this week, but I don't know if we can get it done tomorrow. I guess it depends when we can get the Covid result back.

Brookdale Kerrville was a really nice place and the people and staff were wonderful. But their facilities were not up-to-par, it wasn't new and a little bit older. But we noticed that they're so busy, their activities were awesome whoever the activities director is. The apartments were like studios and were really small although they have a separate bedroom, but they're closed in with no windows. The staff who accommodated me was wonderful. I didn't see any amenities, it was just a bunch of hallways with rooms, though they had a very small courtyard. What turned us off was that they had a small smoking area and it was really smokey. I don't think nursing homes need smoking areas inside the community. But their activities director was awesome.

Our tour guide at Brookdale Kerrville was Theresa, and she was wonderful, very helpful, and has reached out to us more than once. The food was very average, and I really wouldn't have enjoyed it for more than one or two meals. The staff was pleasant, but the entire community needs refurbishing. We saw what appeared to be mold in an allegedly move-in ready apartment. There were very few activities that we would have enjoyed, and there's really not much of anything to do there. There's no pool as well. So overall, we were very disappointed.

Brookdale Kerrville was very nice. We were trying to get our sister in it. Everybody was very nice. The place was clean and well-organized. We were really impressed. We went in quite a few of the rooms, and they were very nice and very well-kept. I would love to be able to get her in Brookdale. It seemed like all the people that were living there were happy and well-behaved. The staff was excellent.

Brookdale Kerrville was OK. The rooms seemed to be adequate, but it was not what we were looking for. The staff was courteous and nice, but the price was a little bit high.

I saw Brookdale but didn’t consider it at that time because it wasn’t a lock down facility. The staff member was a remarkable young man who seemed like a very caring and nice person.

The staff and facility were excellent at Brookdale Kerrville. My mother-in-law and I were very impressed. She actually decided that if the time comes that she needs assistance, that’s where she would go. The rooms were very clean. The facility was cheerful and without smell. Everything was great.

At Sterling House, everything was fine. The facility was lovely and clean. Everybody seemed happy. The food looked good. They did have everything in terms of activities. They have movie nights, bingo nights, sing-a-long, etc. They have hairdresser for the women and barbershop for the men. They have a lot of activities for all of them.

The facilities of Sterling House are nice. The accommodations are very nice as well. One unit I saw has a seating room in front and a bedroom in the back. It is for one person and I think it is adequate. They have a nice dining facility. I think they do have activities for their residents. However, the patients in order to be admitted in this facility have to need minimal care. Because if they start having any kind of health problems, they will need to be moved into a nursing home facility.
