My mother in law just left Longmeadow. This place looks beautiful from the outside, next to a park with a pond. But you will never get to see inside. Each time we visited, she was wearing someone else's clothing (like a snowman sweatshirt in April), and we have no idea what happened to the new clothing we took to her. We never got information on her progress, or on the medications she was given. They didn't ask us about her medical history, and we are a very educated family who could have provided helpful information. We were asked for her insurance information, which we gave them, but a friend who went to visit her was told we were $15,000 in the rears. When we resent the insurance information we had already sent, and complained about the HIPAA privacy violation, they said "good news, her balance is zero." Based on what I have seen today, my guess is that the care she received was okay, but the administration was terrible. I have no idea what the food was like; she didn't complain about it. We have no idea if there were any activities, or what therapy she received. The staff members we interacted with at the entrance can only be described as rude. It's impossible to support a program that doesn't communicate with family members about their loved ones. As soon as we checked her out to take her to another senior living facility with a private sitter service, they reported our family to Adult Protective Services. My guess is that they didn't like losing a paying customer. I understand that caring for elders with dementia is difficult, but this place is seriously missing the mark. My advice is that anywhere else is better than this one.

My mother is in Longmeadow Healthcare Center. They love you when you first come to them and they bend over backwards, then when you try to get a hold of your loved one to talk to them because the place is on lockdown, they don't answer the phone. The phone just rings and rings. They only have 120 people in that facility. It's not like they're a full 500-bed nursing home. I'm pretty frustrated with them, and they know I'm frustrated with them. The outside appearance is beautiful, but you never get to see the inside of it because you can't go in. It's expensive too. They need to replace the entire crew in that facility with a brand new one that knows the laws and the rules and will help you work with them.

This place is horrible. My grandmother is there and if it wasn't for my aunt, she would never bathe or eat. She is only there because she has Alzheimer's and we can't take care of her. This place ia close to our home, but Lord knows they need a staff makeover... smh...

I chose Longmeadow Healthcare Center because they were the most helpful with assisting payments with Medicaid. It was also well-recommended by other people. It was a small place with a pond. The level of care was very good, I had no complaints. They had bingo and even a beauty shop. My mom really felt welcomed and at home. She liked the place.
