River Oaks is very old; not nice and fancy, but they do provide good care. I would rather have a place that provides good care that doesn’t look so beautiful than a place that looks beautiful provides sub-standard care. They have the same thing all nursing homes have.

If I could give a lower rating I would. I was trying to find out why mother was denied by The facility because my morhwrs, insurance said they had not denied her. I had called to talk to the business manager Cindy, who is extremely sarcastic and rude. When that conversation was going no where and she couldn't answer any questions with any kind of compassion or real intelligence I asked for the name of the Corporate office and the phone number so I could let them know how rude she is and her answer was I'm not giving you that information. Then she followed up with she's not allowed to give out that information. I told her really because it will take me all of 2 minutes to find out because it's a public for profit company. While I was looking I also got the CMS rating for the facility and saw the fines paid out and complaints over the last 3 years. I'm now glad my mother hadn't been accepted. So blessing in disguise there. I will be contacting the Corporate office and thier partner as soon as I can. However with that said it's usually a trickle down so if the business office manager is rude it probable comes from above and follows below to the other staff.

Been there not a good place to take your loved one or even your enemy. It's dirty and smelling! The standard of care is terrible, the CNAs and the nurses have no etiquette.

Never ever come to this place! Went to see about putting my mom in this location. What a waste of timeout . The facility was dirty and the aides were just sitting around doing nothing. All this call lights were going off and no one would assist the residents. There was a man walking around with no pants on and they were just laughing. I'm saddened by the lack of care at this place. The people seemed miserable to live there. I would never recommend this place to anyone! Not even as a last resort!

My mother-in-law was at River Oaks Health & Rehab Center. They were fine. They seemed to really care. The rooms were just simple.

My dad moved in September at River Oaks. It’s a good place, and it’s really close to where I live, so I can go check on him and make sure things are going OK. They’re taking good care of him, and they have answered the questions I have; I like it. They have music on weekends, bingo, and dominos. He likes everybody, and they’re very helpful.

Riveroaks Health really spooked me. When I walked in there it was day time and the lights were not on. A lot of the residents' rooms were dark, and they were just lying there with their TV off and they're just staring at the ceiling. The place smelled like dirty underpants. It was depressing. When I walked at one of the hallways, all the aides were sitting in their lunch room watching TV while a bunch of little lights were on and beeping where these people needed help with something. And they were just sitting there watching TV while these little lights would beep. It gave me chills just walking in there and see how depressing it looked. The nurses and the aides look like they're bored and not in any mood to be there. I didn't see the staff being attentive to the residents or trying to help them feel alive. I couldn't see myself taking my dad in this place.

My mother in law is here as a resident and every time I go to visit her the staff is always very personable. Over the last few years I have grown to know most of the nurses and CNA's and have developed a friendship with them. My mother in law likes being there as well. She has devoloped friendships with the much of the staff and other residents as well. The facility is always clean and if for any reason you have any questions there is always someone there that is able to answer them, whether they pertain to a resident's care or the facility.
