My sister is happy at Cityview Care Center even though it's very far. It's a nice place. Last week, they were working on one of the elevators because they have a bottom level and an upper level, so they're nice. They let me talk to my sister on the phone, so I appreciate that. The only thing is that it's so far. The nurses and the people there are helpful. The staff are pretty nice. My sister has never spoken about the activities. She's a loner, and she likes to stay in her room. On the first floor, there is an exercise room where they have some machines there and things like that. If someone likes to do stuff like that, they're there for them. They have a courtyard also. It's kind of pretty and it's entertaining. You go by there and it's all glass. The office is pretty and inviting, too. For the money, you better have some kind of life insurance because if you don't, then for a month, you have to pay $5000 to $7000 a month. If you can afford it, it's not bad.

My advice is to go and visit this place before you put a loved one in here. My mother was at Cityview for a week, and I was desperate to get her out. Although the nursing staff were mostly good, they were severely understaffed. There are buttons for patients to push when they need help, but it takes a very long time to get a response. I saw at least three patients wandering up and down the hall, holding their diapers, looking for someone to help. When she left, my mother had an open wound on her lower back from lying in a wet diaper day after day. The food is not good, and there is not much of it. I don't know why, but it is extremely noisy in the evenings. This made it very difficult to sleep. It is an old-fashioned nursing home, and that is not good. One last thing, the facility sent intake papers to be signed only after we informed them that my mother would be leaving. If you have a loved one here, just remember to be present often! Patients with vigilant families get better care.

My husband was in this facility for physical therapy rehab. The nurses & aides were very attentive to my requests & always interested in my care. Meals were average. Physical therapists were top notch! However the facility's doctor was rude & uninterested in my care or progress.

This is the worst facility I have seen in a long time. The CNAs are lazy. My grandmother had to go for three days without a shower. The would not provide proper colostomy care and training. I had to visit everyday to make sure she was being cared for. I think that this facility need to be looked at by the state and an intervention of how to properly care for the elderly need to be done.

My mother was given her roommates medication in error. They did contact us immediately and filed the appropriate documentation with the state. We also received a very threatening letter from the business department saying our account was being turned over to a collection agency. We received this letter on the day my mother was dismissed and on the same day we received her bill for the entire month, not just the portion on the month she was there.
