My aunt is in Country Place Senior Living. It is assisted living with an option in going to memory. That's what we want, so that when she transitions to the next phase, she can stay in the same building. It is fairly new, and the people who are on staff are just excellent individuals. They just go above and beyond. The people are really good. They are very knowledgeable. If they don't have the answer, they work on getting it. They are a couple of questions, like where she can keep her home phone number that she has or how to get her cable hooked up. They are extremely helpful in telling us who we can contact. We came in from out of town, and we only had one week to put my aunt in a home. They were just very helpful in telling us what our options were and what kind of care and assistance she can have. You can have your pet, so my aunt brought her dog with her. Her unit is like a room and a half's space, so she can bring her small table instead of her dining table. It is small, but you can have your living room set and a place to have a cup of tea. I tasted the food, and it is excellent. They have homemade guacamole. The meals are always prepared fresh, so that is nice. The attendants check the residents, and if they don't want to go down for dinner, they can have their dinner in their room. They have a wine tasting event also. I guess they call it a happy hour. The residents can have wine, and if you like that, you can have something non-alcoholic. They have some exercise programs for the seniors. They have bingo, and there are other options. There seems to be something going on all the time, and it is up to the residents if they want to participate or not. They bring their residents out to the patio garden and have a barbeque there, or the residents will be watching the others work on the garden. It think she is more involved and has more social opportunity than being at home.
